I like how you looked at what your body needed and stopped hiking earlier than planned. Getting things done so you could get enough rest before flying to LA was so necessary. The importance of being flexible. Great video!!!!
So true! Thanks. It was a good entry into LA as a result.
Sunshine, you are handling those steeper inclines just right. Earl Shafer was the first man to successfully thru-hike the entire AT continuously in 1948. If you've read his book, he said he found the key to hiking the inclines was to take much shorter steps. He said if it took him 2000 steps to complete a section of Trail, he would use 4,000 steps on the same length of inclined trail. He found that it greatly helped on inclines without continuously exhausting himself.
Love your adventures. Be well, and ace your exams Largo. Until tomorrow 🌴
Thanks. He is in French now!
I now you’ve probably done your exams ,, but good luck Largo ❤
He is in French right now!
Don’t feel bad about not going 15 miles come on you guys get a long way to go yet relax and you’re breaking in new shoes. Good luck in California.😊
Thanks. We have plenty of time to make it up.
It looks SERIOUSLY intense on the video.
BTW just got my new 100% cotton boxers in the post today, for my Camino, and they are THE best underpants I've worn since I was a teenager. Hooray !!
A long hiking stick like that is a hiking STAFF (it's what I use myself), the plural of it BTW is Staves -- which is entirely non-coincidentally also the name of the bars of musical notation.
Prior to the Modern Era, hikers of all types would carve notations into their staves, including musical ones (including onto shorter sticks), as well as all other sorts of info including just records of their walks, so that there is a beautiful congruence between Pilgrimage, Merchants, Hiking, Accounting, and Music.
Sounds great! I got do undergarments too. They make a huge difference.
Good luck with your exams Largo 👍👊💪
Thanks, just dropped him off at the French exam.
@WorldTowning no doubt in my mind he is going to Ace it
It was cool to see Hot Springs on your vlog. We go through that town on our way to visit family near Asheville, NC every year.
So cool! Loved Hot Springs so much. Wish we had a zero there.
you should read Grandma Gatewood's walk. Easy read and good book. She was tagged as the first female thru hiker at age 68 with only a pillowcase holding some food and clothing. She did this 3 more times I believe after that. She hiked in keds tennis shoes. Enjoying your frankness and nitty-gritty about the hike.
Amazing woman
🦋❤️
Nine miles in one day is more than enough. The immediate previous days also were super plus miles. If you start again, maybe begin where you left off.
Thanks for your support. We will go back to that spot and start again after the exams.
Enjoy Ca
We are getting spoiled here.
Good luck Largo!
thanks. French done!!!
Beautiful photography/videography! Today’s video was so relaxing… I don’t mean boring, just so calming & serene! ❤
I'm so glad! It felt so boring when I was shooting it so happy to hear in was enjoyable.

STILL WALKING -- STILL TALKING -- STILL GOING

ENJOY YOUR TIME OFF BEFORE DAMASCUS, VA
STILL doing it all!
What is Will's off-trail AT trail name ?
That soap looks OK, though I'm lucky and happy enough to use Lavender savon de Marseilles as my basic.
Hot latino
I suggested Hot Latino!
Sunshine sleep. Good luck on exams captain. Soar like a eagle
Just dropped him at his French exam!!!
Now I want pancakes
They were so good. He gave me a bite.
Any news on that random backpack you guys found a few videos ago? Just curious. So glad you reported it. Have a great time in La La Land. Wish you guys were up near Santa Cruz…I would take you out for pancakes. 😂😂
No news and I did follow up, well, except they went to try to find it on the trail and it was gone. Probably a bear got it.
@@WorldTowning oh wow! Thank you for the update.
Hope this is not offensive but you remind me of Barbra Streisand in Meet the Fockers. 😁
No offense taken at all. I loved her character!!!
Did you soak in a hot spring????
We did not, not enough time there.
Are you worried about poison ivy?
I am now
