RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.
RE: LIVE VERSIONS vs STUDIO:
Check out why we haven't uploaded any live versions... yet. They will be coming, we promise!

Its sad to see that most people say there is no good new music anymore today. We post this and it has 100 views in 3 hours. People don't want to listen to it because its new I guess.
This was fantastic, I LOVE this kind of music. You're right, there is great music and there are talented musicians in every era, it's just getting harder to find because talent doesn't matter anymore to the general public. Thank god for your channel, this is the only way I would hear these gems!! ❤
This is great music, but Jazz and Jazz Fusion just isn't as popular as it was in the 70's and even 80's. Give it some time. Nick, you and I know there is good music out there, but it is definitely harder to find.
Very true - if one doesn't listen, there's no music.
Very sad. Nick you know I always say there is a lot of good music being made. And I have sent you a lot of new music that you have loved. The problem is, if people are not hand fed it, they will
Not seek it or support it. Its all so under the radar! And will
Continue to be. Sad man!! This was fantastic and I will buy her album! We must support these artists!!❤
This music proves that good music did not end and there are talented dedicated people still creating. Very sad but true, that humans are eternally creatures of habit and comfort.
What I love about NicknLex is you are about exposing a wide range of musical styles and periods and are focused more on what is good and not just popular or nostalgic. You’ve had four recent reactions that are of good musicians but not on the tip of everybody’s tongue or immediately on their radar and they’re all sadly sitting at only around 300 to 400 views. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it listen to music apparently. If the music is not already familiar or a known entity. It’s the same with visual arts people like what they like and it’s hard to get them to her to see other things. But what is important here, is that you’re creating an environment where we can try, And if we’re interested, we can listen. Keep the faith and thanks for everything you do.
Rick Beato just did an interview with her. Never heard of her until that interview and now I have something to listen to here! 👍
Always great to hear amazing musicians from any era, but it’s really exciting to hear people that are contemporary that are still keeping more challenging complex, interesting, and compelling music alive. Great virtuoso playing throughout. Can’t wait to listen to more of it. Such a relief to hear and see music, that stretches skills and imagination of the player and the listener
There's a new one hour interview with her on Rick Beato.
Saw that last night. She started with the bass at 3 or 5 years old. Her father encouraged her. I believe he is a bassist too.
I just noticed that the other day.
Just watched the Beato interview and was amazed. Thank you so much for this reaction. She's incredible. Please check out the Beato interview.
I saw Mohini interviewed by Rick Beato yesterday - she's an amazing musician and and incredible young woman.
Sounds throwback to 70s jazz Fusion...love it Paul!
Oh Wow! This is close to my type of music! Love this! I'll be checking out more of Mohini Dey! Some of this sounds a little like Jeff Lorber and Chick Corea.
I thought you might have shown Lex those videos I sponsored - the female bassist marathon with Tal Wilkenfeld and Esperanza Spalding, and the song with guitarist Eugeny Pobazhiy "Road to the Himalayas". She is also on the Steve Vai song "Bop", on the 2016 Modern Primitive album. She's also done some stuff with Aristocrat drummer Marco Minnemann, backed up Guthrie in India, and is going to be touring with Greg Howe. She demonstrates a lot of things on her recent interview with Rick Beato.
I did but she didn't remember. She has seen tal and she has seen day too. I am not going to make a scene in the video when she doesn't remember😊She knows Esperanza well too. This is highly complex music so I can't be mad at her for not remembering the songs or names.
@@NicknLexI also wonder if she saw the Rachel Flowers marathon, because of the ELP connection.
@@NicknLexCongratulations, Nick---You'll be married forever...A happy wife is a happy life, and being big enough with your ego in check to resist the petty "I TOLD YOU" is the sign of an evolved soul...
Her collaborations always rock. Check out DarWin, where she plays with Drums and Percussion: Simon Phillips
Bass: Mohini Dey
Lead Guitar: Greg Howe
Keyboards: Derek Sherinian
Guitars: DarWin
Also a great collaboration with David Weckl on drums. SARASWATI AT MONTREUX - ABHIJITH & SANDEEP ft.DAVE WECKL & MOHINI DEY..!!!
Wow both are amazing collabs!!
Oh my GAD!!! No wonder why the Guitar, Drums & Keys sounded as great as Mohini!!! DAMN!
Reminded me of Chick Corea Elektric Band with Patatucci on bass. Vey good. New dose of fresh fusion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really, really good. Thanks!
The Nick seal of approval. Listen for the 'sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss' 👍
Wow! That was a surprise to me! We must have her on the channel some more. To my very uneducated ears I heard a little Pat Metheny, but don't listen to me. Very good and enjoyable. More please!
Thanks @Paul
Reminds me of Jean-Luc Ponty.
Where's that little fur ball!!!😁🐕
Actually, some college stations still play classical and jazz. WRTI (Temple University) plays classical during the day and Jazz at night, but it's more straight ahead jazz than fusion.
This was really awesome! I agree, the drummer is in the pocket and an awesome keyboardist! I've only heard a Mohini on a few tracks, but this was SLAPPIN'! Really good!
I think "Tal Wilkenfeld" really inspired the Ladies to pick-up a Bass, you'll have to check her out DUELING with Jeff Beck live! The woman has ATTITUDE :D.
- Nice one Paul! That Jammed! Nice to see Lexi with you again Nick! \m/
And horns for the lovely Alexia!!!!!!
Check out Return to Forever - Romantic Warrior. Chick Correa, Al Dimeola, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White. Fantastic!
It sounds like Level 42's Mark King. Fantastic stuff/Great artist.
She studied him!
One LP you should listen to is Marquee Moon by Television one of the best guitar albums of all time.
