Good to see ya in the hornet Joe. A2A gets less button pushy when you learn the shortcuts (sensor select right short will spike a primary bugged target, NWS / undesignate will switch between available radar returns, dragging the cursor above or below the radar field and then back down or back up changes the range scaling, etc.) Lmk if you ever need a wingman for it!
Oh! Always preset your radar for your weapons! Select your sparrows on the ground, set the radar settings you want (I recommend 6B, 40 degrees at 40nm) and the hit “SET” on the right side of the MFD.
Also the whole NWS guns then back to sparrows to brake lock lol
What *I* did with the Hornet, that worked best for me, was the following:
Knowing that my AA Radar would ALWAYS be on the right MFD, I set the MFD buttons for switching between TWS and RWS, switching from Manual to Auto in TWS and RESET to keybinds.
Another tip, when tracking a specific target, use TWS Auto instead of RWS, it wont lose track like the first F-16 you fought, and all you need to do for a hard lock is to put the (idk if thats the correct term been a while, but the equivalent to) the sensor select switch towards the side of the Radar screen, much like what you do to select which screen you have as your interest
To perfect your landing try using Atc when on final and fully configured. The plane should hold perfect aoa automatically. Helped me a lot with shore and carrier landings

The Hornet is a lot more fun to fly after they changed its flight model and let it reach 55 degrees AoA. I've been playing around with high-alpha maneuvers in it recently. I think it's finally time for me to learn its systems properly.

hornet my beloved! but ye the hornet radar controls are wank, i just a button pound to the pushbutton that increases range, and i just flick through it
