i too just had to replace one of these in a 2011 GMC Terrain. Total fight to say the least. I fought and fought with it trying to get it out without having to take a lot of the center console out but i just couldn't get access the top/rear bolt and i have a lot of mech experience. After searching the internet for a good vid, i came across yours!! After seeing what you had to do to get to the same bolt, i laughed out loud and ran back out and snapped mine off as well. After i broke the old one off, it fell right out and allowed me easy access to that top bolt. After an entire day of fighting with the old one and trying to take off a few parts as i could to get to it... all to no avail. Thanks to you, I had the new one back in and the vehicle running and driving in 20 minutes!!
Just did one today. I just took out the 2 bolts for the bcm module and slide it out of the way to gain access with a racket wrench. Easier than just breaking it off and putting some nut in the end.
I just did the job and as @boostedLSJ says, just remove BCM and you can get at all of the bolts with a small ratchet and 10mm socket. The top rear bolt is a little tough but take your time and you'll get it. After the new pedal/sensor was in, not only did it stop putting the car into limp mode, it was much more responsive too. Anyway, thanks for this video as well as it was also helpful.
