Thanks for the video! I've only seen them selling second hand, do you know where I can buy one brand new?

I just did a bit of hunting on AliExpress. I am seeing the same as you. There are a lot of second-hand options. Don't let this deter you..
My advice would be maybe to use this guy, as he sold me mine ⤵️

Now, to be clear.. This guy appears to claim to sell these as new, but mine was obviously very lightly used.. My stainless model came with a stainless "dovetail" or middle piece, and he gave me an extra one in Teflon for free. It was a good experience, and he seems like a nice guy. If you have any doubts about a particular piece, ask the seller for more detailed photos. I'm sure he will oblige.
Wherever you end up, please DO make sure you get yourself a Teflon middle piece.. Otherwise, they tend to feel "sticky".
      Good Luck 👍🙂

I had actually looked at this seller but was unsure on which seller to go with so your vetting is appreciated. Thanks for the advice!

Great video! I feel like loading a ball and spring into a mechanical fidget is almost always a pretty good way to get a shot of adrenaline..
What size ball did you use with the ball and spring portion?

Thanks. Yes, it's always exciting. I believe the ball that I tried was 4mm. Mine came with some steel balls, some black silicone nitride balls and some nylon balls (as well as a few extra ball plungers).

Love this slider. But to expensive 😢

I was lucky and found this one second-hand for a bit less. But I agree, many of these things can be pricey.
You can save a lot if you are willing to buy second-hand items. The best place to keep an eye on for used stuff is the Facebook group called "The Daily Fidget Marketplace." 👍 🙂

Do the 8 detents provide more resistance like with more pronounced clicks as compared to the standard/dense ones from 01EDC ?

General speaking, I would say yes. When you go from a "dense pattern" to a "loose pattern," or from many detents to fewer detents, the clicks definitely become more pronounced.
However, many mechanicals can be "fine tuned" by trying different spings and balls, or maybe different ball plungers. These changes can greatly affect how much resistance you get, or how loud the clicks are 👍🙂
