12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. The karate kid (original) I’ll give its respect but I always njoyed a lot more the way he studied the snake movements and mastered it in this battle was phenomenal love this scene sm 🔥!!!

@@nars- there was some controversy because it was set in China, so it should have been called the Kung Fu Kid (because kung fu is a chinese fighting style while karate is Japanese) but honestly it was pretty stupid and people should have just appreciated the movie.

My favorite moment was when Dre was crawling he’s way up, he was crying he was in so much pain. His mom and Mr. Han were worried for him the crowd was cheering for him and he slowly and carefully stood up with the music in the background did it for me. That was some good acting right there Jaden Smith was amazing.💕✨

Well the crane kick originated from Kung fu. Kung fu copies and uses animals techniques. This was more of the Snake kick or Cobra kick.

They should have altered that last shot, you can see Master Li’s on the floor in the background, a cut off from the deleted scene where Li and Mr Han fight

It’s called “The Karate Kid” karate is a Japanese martial art and he’s learning kung fu a Chinese martial art in China. Man they really ruined this movie with the title LMAO.

They had an alternate ending where Jackie beats up the other teacher in a fight. You can see still sort of see it at the end and see the teacher way in the back struggling to get up. But this ending of the students all bowing to a true master is much more impactful

I guess they never thought people would noticed or care about a second of on the floor. Search for Karate Kid Alternate ending to see the teachers fight. :3
