- PeakTech 6227 has an impressive Voltage range for its price. Nice build quality. Connection leads don't have tension, poor soldering, teeth don't line up - but they work, and the voltage measurements are not much different than with Fluke leads. USB ports actually give more than 1A. I have seen my phone pulling 1.5A from the USB interface. Knob works fine. Didn't notice any spikes with my Fluke min-max voltage function. It has protection against short circuits, overload, and overtemperature. So far works well.

This Product has a Bug, measure between USB-Ground and the Blue (-) Pin. I can measure up to 55V. I would recommend not using USB and normal Power in the same circuit.
Thanks. Just checked - i confirm. I also get 55V.
Thanks for that impression. Now I'm finally sure it's totally okay for my intensions.
It doesn't feel cheap, so far works fine .
Just ordered mine on amazon but also bought better crocodile clip cables.
Still using no issue. Opened definitely made in china. Solder joins are ok. But is has a serious flaw Between USB ground and minus (-) pin there is 55V. SO don't use USB and main power on same circuit.

Maybe it's a solid build from the outside, but not sure how does it look like inside... it might as well be a total nightmare with bad soldering, weak cooling and weak output transistors. So, I'm wondering whether get this or Korad/RND 320-KA3005D. Korads are usually even cheaper and well known with their weaknesses, while PeakTech is not that popular, so it's not clear why it's more expensive - is it better quality or just for the brand name and warranty.
Well I bought it with my own money and it works fine so far. I considered Konrad but wanted something a little bit better. PeakTech 6227 doesn't feel like rebranded generic PSU. My only gripe is connections leads crocodile don't have tension - I contacted PeakTech before making this video to ask what's the deal with the leads, they acknowledged that they have some quality issues with leads and sorting it out. I like that they acknowledged that there is a problem. PeakTech is a German company, but this power supply is made in China. As far as fan (cooling ) actually never heard it running :) But I have thermal camera right now - so I can tell you. For what I use it 12V@6A heat is not a problem.
Is the cooling fan of this power supply always on? Or does it stay off in case of no load or little load?
I think there is thermistor or some kind of thermocuople. Usualy fan is completly off, only affter long time use with high current its starts to spin.
@@VideoBite thank you!
can you use it to charge ebikes 48v batteries?
Actually, somewhere in the manual, they say don't use it for charging batteries. But in real life - sure you can at your own risk.
Probably. I have just ordered it. I chose 60v instead of 30v with 48v batteries in mind. The power will not be large, but in an emergency it can help.
i am sure this is german made i hope so i dont junk from china was about order one on amazon
Peaktech is German company. I have contacted peaktech, and asked where this unit was made. I got answer - origin country of this power supply is china. Connection leads are total trash. Unit itself - solid build.
Sounds funny. Germans usually order from China but give their logo.
