      maybe if your school has an econ/business club, or an internship in something related to economics. Even things that are related to econ skill-wise like math club could work!

    • @sophielogy
      @sophielogy  Před 3 lety +3

      some schools may be more selective about gcse grades than others. If you are near the cutoff for grades or test scores they might look at gcse scores relative to other applicants (happened to me for Oxford and since I didn't have any I was rejected).

    Hii, I repeated year 12 because I failed chemistry in the first year which made me realise medicine is not the career path for me . I’m currently going into year 13 with psychology, philosophy and french . In my personal statement should I mention that I repeated year 12 with different subjects ? Because I don’t think a lot of unis would be happy to hear it and they would be reluctant to give me a position in unis like UCL OR QUEEN MARY OR KINGS . What is your advice ? Because on the contrary it could show how I learn from my failures and I come back . But again I wouldn’t get any unconditional offers by saying I failed . Can you help me pls I want to study psychology

    • @sophielogy
      @sophielogy  Před 4 lety +1

      hi! I'm not a counselor, so I'm not sure how to best advise you. I would recommend talking to a counselor at your school and also reaching out to admissions counselors at your prospective unis to see what they think. Since unis will receive your school records, I don't think you need to emphasize the change of subjects. I would try to focus on your current subjects and how they have contributed to your knowledge and interest in psychology.
