• When you're not living...
When you accidentally write songs that already exist:
• When you accidentally ... - Komedie
I love how he's trying to make us hear the melody by just staring at the camera as intensely as possible.
it worked! lol
It works, I can barely hear his videos when he's not staring directly at the camera
Telepathic song transfer!!!!!!
Thats his concentration face 😂
Funny, but also I can say from experience it's just intENSe concentration XDDD
This man can play a cat, of course he can play a theremin.
@Don't Read Profile Photo okay
"Play" is a very generous word to use lmao
But can he play a theremin... with a cat? I NEED TO SEE HIM PLAY THE THEREMIN WITH A CAT.
@@AnneB2 Now we're asking the real questions.
@@AnneB2 just put the theremin next to your laptop and pretend it's really important while the cat is in the room. if done right cat WILL lay down on it.
Theremin seems like one of those instruments that are super fun to mess around with and super hard to get actual good music out of.
I'd say it would be easier to go for music based on strings rather than percussion and rhythm based instruments, like a piano.
Honestly though it's so interesting it looks fun, I have to get one
If I ever learnt doing music, I think I'd just mess around with an instrument untill I find a cool sample. Then start to mess around with another ones until they make up a cool song, and then I write it lyrics.
Same as any other musical instrument
they are actually really easy when you get the hang of it
shoutout to Clara Rockmore. if you haven't heard of her, she was one of the first musicians to master the Theremin and bring it into the spotlight as a serious instrument. her work is absolutely beautiful, her level of mastery on another plane.
Except it was popularised back in the 70s by the Soviet movie industry because duh it was a Soviet invention
@@mihan2d Not quite! Though theremin was invented by the Soviets, it was actually popularized by tours done with the instrument in the US in 1927 onward, which were ordered by Lenin at first, but later done with other musicians fascinated with the instrument, especially by musicians such as Clara Rockwell. Though the 70s may have been a booming time for the theremin, the original commenter was correct that tours done by musicians such as Clara Rockwell were the main reason for the instruments’ popularity :)
As cool of an instrument as it is, I'm actually thinking of selling my theremin.
I haven't touched it in years.
Get out
Underrated comment
AHHH FR?!?!
that was uncalled for
Bro you made me exhale
I get the feeling that Daniel is about to make a video game soundtrack
TRUEEEEE
Oh yeahhh
I'm upping you one. A whole movie soundtrack!
I heard once that this was originally the instrument you would play in The Wind Waker.
@@braydengraves4655 Yes, that is in fact the case. There was a peripheral and everything, it's hilarious.
Bro would be sick for a horror movie intro 2:58
This theramin energy is hauntingly aggressive, AND IM HERE FOR IT
The theremin is definitely weird and chaotic enough for Daniel, it suits him well. I can't wait to see how this unfolds in the future!
The theremin sounds like it comes from another universe, and sometimes Daniel's skits feel straight out of another universe, so it's a perfect combination!
Also, shameless plug, I'm hoping some of you might like the music that I make..:)
...after the bagpipes, of course
@@user-ze3yy1mk2n Yes, bagpipes can sound otherworldly too!
I don’t think he bought it (like the title stated), in the beginning of the video he said that he was just renting it… so it probably won’t be showing up as often as the bagpipes.
The waffle house has found it’s new host
Wait! Scott wasn’t played by Daniel? 😮😳😵 I thought he lived in a perfect universe with just himself!
oh hi.
when you need to come up with a band name is also with people not played by daniel
omg its the chocolate rain guy
That was Daniel, just with a mask and clever editing
Chocolate rain
1:07 I just like this part
MR WORLDWIDE SOUNDING ASS
1:50 high key sounds like an alien taking a shit in an alien toilet idk space would sound weird
It's honestly crazy how after two minutes, you're like nailing how far to move your hand to hit certain notes
He does have pitch snapping turned on
@@chair547 ah okay
@@chair547 wait is that a joke for like aim assist or real
@@AMalas its real
It’s a video. He could have practiced some before this lol
theres a woman here on youtube that invented a method of playing way more accurately than just finding the tone. I dont remember her name but you find her pretty easily when searching for theremin
carolina eyck
Oh! Bless you!
@@jenniferrippel8239 Are you blessing them for finding the person and sharing the info, or are you blessing them because it sounds like they sneezed?
Yes to both?
Perfect!
@@suemccashland my first thought when I saw this. Hope Daniel sees this!
Well that's no fun
I bet this gave John Williams a heart attack. lol 2:36
3:08 man had to censor the guy because CZcams is sensitive.😆😆😆
💀
Or maybe because we're not trying to praise a pedophile
Whenever he gets a new toy, it's always fun to see what meme songs and chaos he makes lol
@Don't Read Profile Photo ok
The possibilities are now endless, daniel has ascended to another plane of existence
He mamaged a theremin he just bought well... I don't know if there's anything he can't play. Next step is to begin doing those videos where he carves instruments out of vegetables
@@lollsazz holy shit the carrot flute might finally be realised
0:34 need a full version of that so much
Yesssssss
Me too
For some reason the Theremin feels like what it would be to play a trombone just a bit harder
You know what? I do really actually believe that if Daniel played the theremin while also playing bagpipes, that would somehow solve all of this world problems at once.
At this point it's worth the shot
or double them. The Bagmin Gambit
That’s like the opening scene of Bill and Ted 3
Let's try that
Apparently my dog is endlessly fascinated by theremin noises
a husky is just a really energetic furry theremin, after all
Idk why, but I really like Daniel’s voice. It’s not too high nor too low, which makes it really enjoyable to listen to it. Like, I could never get a headache from hearing it☺️✨
I want to hear the full version of its cold outside with the guy getting more and more uninterested and freaked out as the girl/theremin part gets more and more unhinged 🤣
He’s a prodigy. The very first sound he made was exactly “fly like an eagle” intro.
Banger song
Kind of wanted to see him try to play the Doctor Who theme. I think it actually is a theramin that's used alongside a synth.
The Ricky and Morty intro got inspiration from the Dr Who intro! So you kinda got a bit of it ^^
Don’t know about later, but the original Dr. Who theme is ALL manually manipulated tape. Analog synthesis. Incredibly time-consuming, very cool.
“Star Trek” uses an Ondes Martenot.
YEA YEA THSTS WHAT I WAS WAITING FOR
I was looking for the Midsomer Murders theme cause that is basically all theremin and I just love it honestly
@@theKobus the Star Trek theme doesn’t use an ondes, I’m afraid! It was a female vocalist ☺️
1:17 This Actually Scared Me More Than Horror...
1:02 lol reminded me of reaching for high notes during middle school band while trying to stay in tune with the other flutes
i never thought i’d feel so nostalgic listening to a jingle for a piano app
Bro same
The fact that you picked it up to that level of competence so quickly aT ALL is impressive
1:49 He did it. Changed Gameplay sounds
So glad to see a theremin here! If you guys are interested about theremin and music maked with it, there are Carolina Eyck, Grégoire Blanc, or Mezerg, among others, who do cool stuff!!
I love Gregoire! One of my favorite music CZcamsrs.
yes!!@@ahumanmerelybeing
Carolina Eyck does incredible stuff on the Theremin. She has quite a lot of cool videos.
I LOVE THAT YOU SAID THAT TOBEY MAGUIRE WROTE MEGLOVANIA
okay at least someone pointed it out
He’s too powerful.
First the bagpipe, now this.
Finally Daniel has the perfect instrument for his weird hand gestures
0:59 Move aside violin, having no frets is no longer a flex, imagine playing a 3 dimensional instrument that doesn't even have strings! 😂
Hey! I play better than anyone my ago.
My favorite: 2:22
That “baby its cold outside” had me rolling on the floor🤣
Honestly impressive you managed to make it sound so decent so quickly.
the sound at 2:00 sonds like Mario Kart
The censoring of R.Kelly's name for I Believe I Can Fly had me rolling🤣
This man needs to buy all the underused/weird instruments and make a band with them
your editing skills bro
gets me dying of laughter every time 👌✨
OMG! Playing theremin is super hard, and Daniel just plays it straight away! MORE PLEASE!!!
It has a setting that autotunes it to whatever scale you choose so he wouldn't actually be on pitch if he was playing normally
@@MongerOfStrings8222 Quantized mode is easy theremin mode.

THX intro
you had one job. it's thx
@@xxxbox369piano ever heard of a misclick? Actually didn't notice it until now. I'll change it for you, thanks mate.
Or that one alarm for tornados
4:17 that was such a good throwback to the old jingle
0:57: Ah yes, the classic "For Alösa", by Ledwug von Butthaven.
Can't wait for what you'll do with it!
Press play
*The one instrument that makes people yearn for bagpipes.*
Me: Well, it's cool but I mean, can it play Megalovan...
Daniel: plays Megalovania
Also me: I'LL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK
I honestly think this is one of the coolest instruments in the world. I love the sound so much. When played properly that is.
It’s the fact that he just got it and he already knows how to play it 😂
I'm actually impressed. You made it make recognizable sounds!
That theremin noise at the beginning sounds like something you'd hear in either a really bad horror movie, a really good horror movie, or a basement in which your captor is trying to induce psychosis via nonsensical stimuli and an incredible amount of mind-affecting substances.
Him playing 'I Will Always Love You' sounds like a drunk ghost singing it at karaoke
Hey This is sick!!! Do note, that you would have better tonal control if you tuck the fingers of your note hand in, so that they don't affect what the antenna picks up. The first theremin Player would pinch her hands like the Italian meme (sorry Italians) because it would give her a point with which she could very finely control the pitch
Nice to hear the flowkey jingle again after so long!
Oh my god this is amazing to watch with the little edits of the background
This thing is sick more of this please
0:21 Definitely didn't just start sending out an intergalactic signal to any potentially nearby aliens nope totally not
Oh Daniel, you’ve bought the haunted instrument! I wish you luck in your endeavors of learning it
2:00 the dinosaur impressions killed me! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
imagine being in a void and the only thing you can hear are just the echoed cries of daniel trying to play the theremin
Totally, you should ask the Gregory Brothers for more advice, too. Michael plays it really well
Why did 1:07 sound so good? Can we get a full version of that?
It's literally just The Voidz
How you played with a theremin and DIDNT do the Star Trek theme song is BEYOND ME!!!
I foresee Daniel's accountant getting a weird 'business expense' in the near future...
Now I get the idea behind the thereminion - seems like a complicated instrument rather like a trombone with the hand positioning
I was wondering if a tromboner would have an easier time learning to play the theramin than a pianist.
@@kane2742as a tromboner I wanna try this
I've never seen any of your videos before but fuckin wow this was great to watch.
Neat to see but also good humor with a style of editing that I can appreciate and laugh at.
Glad I found this
This is by FAR the best video I've seen about this instrument!! And the hardest I've laughed in a long while!! 🤣 Love your content and humour
At 0:35, that's so familiar! What song is it? A classic rock song, on the tip of my tongue
Can you tell me because I've been trying to figure it out
@@anticipatebacon7629 nope, not yet. I keep thinking it's Jet Airliner by Steve Miller Band but I've listened to the song and that's not it :/
@@Kitteh.B it's a different song from the same band, Fly Like an Eagle
@@YoItsEvanAdamsooh you're right! Very good ear, thank you!

I´m so glad to see daniel with a theremin at last. A dream come true.
When he said “it’s got all kinds of cool stuff” and the thingie went oooOoOOO I really liked that
this was the best video ever and also you're great with the theremin
Daniel + theremin = endless shenanigans!
Can't wait to see sketches with the newly bought theremin
This is everything I had hoped for. 😂 Now we just need a glass armonica! 🙌🏻
1:57 no Danny that's giygas
You cannot grasp the true form of Giygas' aneyurism
Daniel, I dare you to film yourself playing "Alexander Hamilton" on that thing..
I want a theremin now because the gremlin that lives in my brain is going "you could play daft Punk on it and it would be the most futuristic thing you will ever do"
god i would love to see more of this
Perfect, absolutely perfect, down to the last minute detail.
Ooh, I'm theremin-trigued! A friend of mine plays the theremin, and I've heard it definitely has a learning curve. Best of luck and have fun with the chaos, Daniel!
There's a video of someone playing Daft Punks "Something about us" on a theramin and it is something I constantly go back to. Just a super clean, well done passion project.
I'm delighted that I got your Kingdom Maker ad right before this. It was like finding an extra layer in your oreo.
I finally understand the name behind Theremind
3:21 wow Daniel did the song that was unfairly cancelled for like a week 4 years ago
You can't cancel a song, just say people didn't like it.
@@ClowncoreisCool mmmm I’d say if a group of people tried to get it banned from being played on the radio, because they don’t like it, is an attempt at canceling it.
Who. Literally didn't happen.@@MarcusTalks123
Daniel never disappoints. Truly an exceptional video.
cant wait to see this show up in future videos
He picked up how to play that thing way quicker than I would've
This made me realize a scale lock on a theremin would be pretty handy. I wonder if that's already a feature on the more advanced ones.
There's actually one on the exact model he's using, the Moog Theremini.
This is my favourite video of yours now
Just hearing that made me think of the moody blues and I stopped ur vid and listened to the opening of wildest dreams and now I’m crying. Thank you for being you Daniel 💙
the beginning caught me so off guard. i never could have predicted that twist
THIS IS WHAT SOCIETU NEEDED SINCE THE BEGGING, we just didn't know it before 🤣🤣🤣
Edit: society
The thermin definitely “ain’t familia”
I love how hearing his singing actually made me question whether I actually new the song he… not sung… maybe crooned
This instrument is hyperspace and now Daniel has access to it.
That looks like a hell of a lot of fun
