    Thanks for mentioning our channel, Ed. We love using the IBC totes for firewood. You’ll wonder what you ever did before having those forks. I use mine all the time. The forks are what I have on my front end loader I’d estimate 80% of the time. Good choice on the larger IBC totes. If they’re the 330 gallon ones, they make almost exactly 1/3 of a cord stacked to the top. So 3 full 330 gallon totes make 1 cord of firewood. I’m glad you found a supplier for them. They can be addicting once you discover how convenient mobile firewood storage is, and how many other potential uses there are for the totes. Happy New Year!

    "One hunnndred dollars". I literally laughed out loud! Also, love the music, style, shots and edits of this one Ed...little details like the zoom-in on the turn signal and "closed sign really worked! Regarding the forks, I laughed because I did exactly what you did the first time I hooked mine up...left the paperwork attached! Figuring out when the forks are level and finding the tips can be a real challenge at first, and I too have bumped the ground with my load as well. But it comes quickly and you're gonna' love 'em! 👍😎👏

They are manufactured only 60 miles from my home at Hustisford, Wi. It’s one of the go to things I have. Mine are 42 inch forks like yours. I think everyone can agree that pallet forks are very useful, but I think my next investment will be a grapple. I know their expensive and you need a 3rd function valve, also costly but once you shell out the money, a very good implement. Gonna be a great 2022 Ed, Happy New Year buddy.

So handy for moving stuff around and brush/log handling. I call it my poor man’s grapple. You’ll learn to watch the top end of the fork to give you feedback on what’s happening up front. On the IBC totes watch out that you don’t overload them so much you can’t pick them up the tote. You’ll just have to experiment with it.

    Mine are on my tractor about 90% of the time
    QUESTION ask your followers on Monday night what they do with their plastic inserts mine were used for mulch die as well and some of them have die still in them so I don’t know if it’s hazardous to the environment and or if you just cut them up and dispose of them after you dump the die.
    Other suggestion is the first time you load up the firewood I would only go halfway up and see how your loaderhandles it
    Mine will not lift a full load of firewood only about 3/4 the way up at the most

    Did I see you actually pumping your own gas in the Garden State? Growing up there it was a super no-no. After being gone many years I was back visiting the in-laws; pulled in, jumped out, stuck the nozzle in my vehicle, then heard somebody screaming at me. An attendant came running from the building yelling STOP! He let me know I could be in trouble and he could be fired - I didn't tell him a grew up in NJ, he saw my Wyoming plates and said there is no self pumping in the state. When did that change?
    Nice trailer, can you remove the lift gate? Mine is off more than on. Makes it much easier to load/unload with pallet forks. As Chad said, you will love those pallet forks when you get used to them. Hit the tips with orange paint, makes them easier to see. You just need to reapply periodically as it will rub off.

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jim. The gate can come off. Great point about being easier to load without the gate in place. I didn’t “pump” my own gas. I just removed the nozzle from my truck. Happy New Year, Ed! Congrats on getting pallet forks. I think you’ll quickly wonder how you ever got along without them. Those are some big IBC totes. What are your plans for the liquid containers after you separate them from the cages?

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you, Martin. Happy new year to you and yours as well! Someone in the comments said that the containers are recyclable. I’ll have to look to see if there’s a number one or number two stamped on there. Otherwise, I will probably cut the bottom section off and use it as a lid. Got any ideas?

    I will be curious to see how the tractor handles the large totes when they are full of wood or if the small tote would have been a better fit for your tractor size? Yet, you can always not load as much into the large totes if they prove to heavy.
    We have got a set of forks and found lots of little projects that they have helped with. Number one being unloading pallets. The second is using a man basket on them allowing us to get up higher to trim, clean gutters, and make elevated repair.

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  Před 2 lety

      Boy I’d be nervous using a man-basket. Do they have anything that prevents dumping, or do you just have to be very careful? I’m thinking I will definitely not be able to fill these totes to the top!

    • @BradMyers

      @@MyClutteredGarage The basket secures to the loader and the basket has tie-off points so if you would hit a bump or the operator would decide to dump you, you would stay in the basket.

      Hi Margaret. I think the bladders lift out. I may need to hook it to my pallet forks and pull it out! 😄

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      You can find “food grade” totes that would be great for water. Keep in mind that 275 gallons is 2,200 pound. So depending on the size of your tractor, you’ll want to limit the size or fill level. 3 point forks may indeed be a great option for this application. Happy new year!

    Isn't the 2401 made for vineyards to go between the rows? I would have that thing flipped in no time, I live near the Smoky Mountains in the hills of SE Tennessee. My 2601 is wearing 3" spacers in the rear with Rim Guard and 1.5" on the front. If anyone is considering this it helps tremendously. Something else that helps is the Gorilla Tailgate Lift for trailers. My tailgate is heavy and the lift is set on half power. It was easy to install and saves an old man's back.
    Another thought on the totes for firewood. What if ya leave the tank inside the frame for a covering your wood? Cut the side out as in the original plans just cut the tank also. Maybe leave a few inches of plastic on the top and sides to retain the shape and for strength? Happy New Year

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  Před 2 lety

      All great points. Makes sense what you say about the B2401. It’s pretty flat here, but I’d still like wheel spacers. Interesting idea about the tote. People often cut the top off and use it as a lid to cover the wood. That way the air can still flow through and season the firewood. Thanks for watching, and happy new year!
