The last two years has seen a complete transfomation in the fortunes of the club. Back in the Noughties the fans had to battle with a couple of gangsters to save the club. The fans finally won in the high court and secured the future of the club and football at the Racecourse. Ten years later Rob and Ryan came on the scene and they have such a great understanding of how important football is to people in Wrexham. Everyone is looking forward to what happens next.

I wonder how many clubs around the world have that same potential with the right investment.
If anything I hope this inspires entrepreneurs with some means behind them to adopt a similar relatively simple approach of how to build a club.

@Abortionville Bluestate I think Wrexham have 2 big off-season friendly matches for that reason. They're already promoting themselves well.
Wrexham need a good turnover or they can't really add any players next season(there's a 'salary cap'system in the lower leagues...according to turnover).
But Wrexham aren't at the top of the game, as the London NFL teams are (I'm a 9ers fan for 40 years).
If you follow Ipswich's fortunes you might enjoy the higher standard of footie.
Ipswich are a larger 'sleeping giant'. And what the American owners did for us is magical.
We literally had to win every game, for the last Third of the season.
      And that's what we're doing...
The greatest 2023 'soccer comeback' - caused by good-hearted North American owners - is not Wrexham ;-)

There isn't a big difference between the National League and League Two. If Wrexham are able to gain promotion from there, that's when the challenge really starts as there are several big clubs in League One who have fallen on hard times. The highest Wrexham have ever been is the old equivalent of the Championship, one step down from the Premier League.

For that Canadian fan in the red cowboy hat, there's a total example of sports being larger than the game for a community, and that is the New Orleans Saints, especially post-Katrina. Congrats to Wrexham FC for the win and promotion! I chose to follow them after watching Welcome to Wrexham several months ago after never following any European team before. There are many parallels b/w the stories of Wrexham and New Orleans with regards to not being good teams for so long, so naturally it felt like an obvious choice to choose Wrexham. I wish them only the best going forward. For context: the New Orleans Saints were founded in 1967, they didn't have their first winning season/playoff appearance until 1987, first playoff win until 2000, and first (and only) Super Bowl until Feb, 2010.

There are parallels but there are also differences.
Imagine if the New Orleans Saints had started in the MFL, and had to fight for promotion to the NFL, before winning their SB. That would be quite a story. Like Leicester City FC did in the Premier League a few years ago, at 5,000/1 bookies' odds.
You can see in the post match footage of the Wrexham vs Boreham Wood match, that winning the cup was a nice bonus, but very much secondary to getting promoted. It's a system which adds such drama, and encourages backers to want to invest in a buyers market and develop a small team. I would love to see it adopted by the MSL, at least,
It won't happen though, because Gigga-rich hedge fund investors don't want to see their teams get relegated. They want a job for life and a guaranteed place in the MSL or NFL or NHL or NBA or whatever, no matter how bad their team sucks.
American teams sit in their leagues like it's their birthright to be there. It's UnAmerican. It's not a meritocracy. It's socialism for billionaires. Pro/Rel 4 USsports!!

As someone from North Wales, but in an area without a professional team, I grew up following both Manchester United and Wrexham. At the time, Wrexham was a good 3-4 hour drive away. Today it's more like 90 minutes because of road improvements since the early 80s. The contrast between the two sets of owners couldn't be more different. One club has American owners that are hated by the fan base for putting a previously profitable club into almost $1billion of debt and who are currently showing the greed that's become synonymous with wealthy Americans, the other has club has owners who have wiped out the club's debt, have been known to have a drink with the fans and are in it for the club and the community, not for themselves. There are other owners out there who do that but they don't have the profile of Rob and Ryan and that itself is actually worth more than the money they've put in.
