- Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney joined the party as thousands of fans lined the streets to celebrate Wrexham's return to the Football League with a trophy parade on Tuesday.
Phil Parkinson's side, who needed a league record haul of 111 points to beat Notts County in a gripping National League title race, showed off their trophy, along with the women's team, who have earned promotion to the Genero Adran Premier.
Three open-top buses slowly navigated their way around the city on a loop that started and finished outside the Racecourse Ground, cutting through a fog of red smoke from the ubiquitous flares.
Hollywood stars McElhenney and Reynolds, whose takeover and 12 million US Dollars investment in the Red Dragons has helped transform the club's fortunes, joined the women's team on the second of three buses, with Parkinson alongside his staff on the third.
The men's team soaked up the adulation from the top of the first.
Fans chanted 'One more year' at former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster, who came out of retirement to sign a one-year deal in September, and several of his team-mates joined in.
Such is the global nature of this north Wales club these days that there were Canadian maple leafs and the American stars and stripes among the hundreds of Welsh dragons along the route, while Skid the Dachshund sported a custom-made hat.

I am really glad the women also won their league so they could join in with the lads and feel like it was for them also
Oh wow. Hockey guy from Saskatchewan here. Dont know how this came on feed but this was just great. Good on you Wrexham, good on you Wales! This how I imagine Edmonton will be this year when they win the Stanley Cup. Cheers from Canuckistan!
Unreal, very exciting for Rob and Ryan no wonder Ryan did not want to go the the met gala in New York the other day. This is way more exciting.
Really! Who, in their right mind would rather be in NY?
MET is dress up for the rich…….I would so want to be where the love is all around🏴🏆🍻🍾CONGRATULATIONS from🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
Wrex Gala trumps it 😂
This is WAYYYYY BETTER than the Met Gala
Let's be honest, a day in the library is more exciting than the Met Galas. If I wanted to see people dress up in dumb costumes, I'd go see a clown show
im a Celtic fan # and it fills my heart with joy watching this team and town # win # all the best from Scotland
I'm watching this from Australia, and i can't hope to tell you how happy i a am!!
Rob and Ryan are in the second bus, because theey said the team should go first!!
Its the team and the town first!
Not really a big league fans but watching other leagues than EPL opens up how the football world is in europe and the fans attachment to their home teams. Football is more than just the top league. Eye opening.
It’s not because Ryan and Rob are A-Listers (well…they had the money) but they are two very unique people, with a shared sensibility about the project. It wasn’t just to own a team - they went in with a very inclusive plan and vision, that it wasn’t just the team, but the whole Community, the players, the “Gaffer”, the Management, the Women’s team. Everyone worked together, because they knew R&R really cared. Kudos and Congrats to Rob and Ryan, the entire Wrexham franchise, and the Community. “Up The Town “ 👍👏👏🏴🇨🇦
Unbelievable night. Would have been daft not to go, only living 9 miles away! So glad we were there and a part of it. My boys are not all that much into football, but this really was a day for them not to miss and to be proud of, in a place where they were both born. ❤ 😊
Lovely to see Rob and Ryan with the girls team 🎉
What R&R has done for the team:
Amplifying Wrexham AFC and the businesses and community around the club.
Also injecting potential investments alongside their branding as A-listers.
People said there are no difference between Wrexham and the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United, but the difference is Ryan and Rob embraces the Welsh culture and the community, and making the identity of being Welsh to be something cool.
As one of the fans said, you dun see the United or Liverpool shirts around anymore. Everyone is wearing Wrexham.
Which to me is the smartest move ever.
You're right If you compare the Wrexham owners to Man Utd's.... The Glazers put less than £100,000 into the initial purchase (the rest was Levied debt against the club) & since then they've taken over 1 billion out in dividends & now are looking for 6 billion to sell it. No other club (in financial terms) has been more exploited than Man Utd. It should be illegal. Because, as Wrexham knows, & Bury found out, the cost of an exploitative owner is often destruction.
*There should be laws preventing it.* Because clubs aren't just businesses. They are community focal points.
I have seen supporters of many "top-tier" teams wishing they had owners like Rob & Ryan, that do as much for the town/community as they do the team/grounds.
I am truly proud of what this club is doing for football. The story is something else.
I can kind of feel how Wrexham feel being a Newcastle fan, new owners, big changes it just feels fucking good. :D Love watching the Wrexham story unfold.
💖💖A sea of smiling faces , pure joy and happiness💖💖
Greetings from Munich germany
Coventry fan here, and despite wrexham dumping us out of the FA cup, it is nice to see this sleeping giant start to awaken - from our own experience it is nice to see a club, players, fand and importantly owners all come together. I wish the club nothing but good fortune in the coming seasons, and hope to see them in the higher leagues in the next few years
It's good to see Coventry City rise from being itinerant squatters to (I assume) tenants in a proper home again.
@@disillusionedanglophile7680 lol, sadly not, depite our owner putting in a bid as soon as the ink dried on purchasing the club, the council sold the CBS to Mike Ashleys Fraiser Group, BUT we have a 5 year agreement in place for now
Fun fact, SISU (prior owners) put in a bid for more money when Wasps did, but the local council rejected it and sold it to Wasps Eggchasing.......that ground has been nothing but a clusterfuck since day one
What a terrific celebration. Jealous not to be part of it, such a once in a life time event. So pleased for them all....
Until promotion next year again
@@YOPGaming hopefully it will be as big and heartfully celebrated by all again!!!!!!!!
Im not a Wrexham fan but this club Is going to get many new fans from all over the world with these 2 stars involved and you just watch this club grow fast keep a eye on this club. They both love the club u can see that and it's clearly not about the money I think they found their passion in life
Another dose of Wrexham content. Can't get enough.
Yay!!! this is the kind of ownership United needs
Yesss
glazersout!
The amount of cash pissed away in the PL is absolutely absurd. Chelsea transfer fees could finance the entire pyramid below championship for a few years. PL needs stricter cap controls to give some of the control back to the fans. Fair flay rules are so easily skirted.
Doesn’t City already own them?
and also in the USA. i’ll follow the MLS when they have pro/reg in place. until the. MLS sucks!
Brilliant footage - I think the best I've seen! Thank you for capturing so much of the spirit and love and excitement! Terrific interviews at the beginning too! I'm here after their PROMOTION TO LEAGUE ONE and can't wait for the upcoming season of Welcome to Wrexham. This wonderful story just keeps getting better. Congratulations Wrexham! UP THE TOWN!!!!
Love this . Congratulations Whexham FC and the whole town !
I’m gonna binge this doc now
This is the best vid I seen capturing their winning parade. Wrexham FC my 3rd team I rootinf after Lakers n Angels. Congrats team n the whoe town. 🀄🐲❤
Dude the vibe is off the hook in wrexam, fucking awesome!! 🎉🎉🎉
Incredible scenes, congrats to Wrexham!!
What? Did Wrexham win something? Only joking, really great to see the town…. sorry city so uplifted and happy 😃
What a journey and an example in passionate owners who care . An example to most of the premiership
how?
Welsh and Proud, these Fellas are doing it right
for the right reasons, Love it, Wrexham AFC right to the top.🟥⬜🟥⬜Cheers Beany Bro😅👍🏼
I still can’t believe movie star Ryan Reynolds / deadpool/ he starred on a show called Two Guys and A Girl is co owner of Wrexham this is mad!!! But so exciting!!!
BRILLIANT FOOTAGE!! "UP THE TOWN!"
My club wrexham fc love these lads
This is the most subdued I’ve seen RR be in a while. He’s taking it all in.
I wish I could have been there, looks so much fun!
Looks absolutely life-giving this. Wish I lived up North to be a part of it.
Can we just say - who does this? Rob and Ryan have brought hope back on so many levels.
Congratulations, too EVERYONE in, WREXHAM from the youngest too the Oldest, the team the backroom STAFF, the management and too 👏 ROB and RYAN ❤. Hope all goes well in league 2
From Ireland 🇮🇪 😂
I hope a lot of rich people follow this blueprint and change the fortunes of other small clubs and towns. It's a great story.,
The Story is just incredible, I get chocked up every time every time y’all start singing‼️Congratulations🏴🍻🍾
Truer words have never been spocken. If you're not completely brocke, why not have a rum and cocke to celebrate? :P
Congrats to Wrexham 🏆
WELL DONE WREXHAM you diamond in the rough 👏 🥳
Love this when teams like this succeed, feels more better than when the common winners keep winning
How long has Ryan and the other guy been owners of the club???????
Since feb 21’
The girl at the back of rob holding a pixel phone 13:18 ! There still is hope for the youth.😁
Haha it reminds me of real madrid going to plaza de cibeles to celebrate silverwares with madridistas.
Nice one, you guys. Congrats, I hope those two can bring wrexham to epl.
Beautiful stuff!
Amazing😂❤❤❤❤
0:35 Deadpool is the new Wrexham Green Man.
It like they won the EPL - brilliant!
Holy Molly 😮
Thanks beanyman
No worries!
I mean there must be more deadpools per capital then nowhere else😂😂
Wow! Amazing footage, what an atmosphere in Wales 😁 HUGE congratulations to the Wrexham team and Lovely Ryan💓 ‘n’ Rob, you both must be so proud of the team, yourselves and this massive achievement for football and Wales. What a difference you have made in only 2yrs, you are Amazing 😃 Enjoy your Victory, it’s extremely well deserved, feel loved and keep up the great work you are doing. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 💀💩L 💓 p.s.......but please Ryan, Don’t ever stop making movies, miss you on the Big silver screen 💋
❤️😘💋👍🏻
🎉🏴 ⚽️
💀💩L ❤
As a talented footballer and Wrexham come calling (like Mullin & Fozzie) …what you going to do?🥂🥂🥂
II would love to know what Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds thought of the bus parade. I suspect it will have strengthened their commitment to Wrecsam (if that was needed!)
Did nobody tell Ryan and Rob that you’re supposed to get shitfaced on these busses?
Amazing... Amazing video mate!! I simply cannot stop smiling!!!
This would outnumbered and eclipsed the potential Manchester City's treble parade.
Why is ths any more INCREDIBLE than any other club that wins something ?
When you have been relegated out of the top tier of football for 15 long years this is indeed a cause for celebration! Onward and upwards!
What song is playing at 4.56 sec ?
Thanks in advance
Yma o Hyd... Epic tune
Can anyone tell me the name of the song at @8:13
Stereophonics - Dakota
Wrexham have becone the new manchester united😂😂😂
A Tourist Attraction 😂
What’s Ben Foster doing there? Thought he was Watford?
he signed with them
You must be living in a cave mate!!!
I remember when Wrexham's nickname was the Robins. Why change it?
I believe they’ve always officially been the Red Dragons, but red robins is a cool nickname, too. I like how most teams in soccer/football seem to go by their city name. In America, we use the mascot name a lot. The cubs. The cowboys. DA BEARS! Things like that.
@@ChoiceEnvironments actually the Robins nickname derived from a previous manager named Ted Robinson I think around the 1950's
@@strangemagic5502 Ah. Thank you.
They didn't want to confuse Deadpool by making him think he was now in the Batman universe
@@michaeljohn1978 😂
Someone translate Up the Town into American so I can feel more confident saying it. Please. :)
The town are going up through the division 😊
We’re behind the town
'Up the Town' is Up the Town, no other way to say it LoL. 'Come on the Town' would be similar?
"Up the league Wrexham go" but there is no other way of saying it than "Up the Town"
@@livingonthetyne It's not in reference to going up the league. In football we say Up the Reds etc. as a way of saying come on the reds or whatever it may be. For Wrexham they refer to the team as 'the town'
Who's the bird who keeps having her hand on robs shoulder? It's not his wife, and he only has sons. Top G.
Think she was using him to steady herself
I believe that's Wrexham's top goal scorer
den back ure local man
Where are all the hooligans?
Good job on the promotion and stuff.
Imagine if you had a welsh league and didn’t have to sponge of the English. You’d be in Europe now being the third best team in wales.
The womens team jumping on the band wagon 😂😂😂😂
The woman's team also won their league too, not just the mens
hhaha
Odd looking disposable vapes
All the plastic Wrexham fans are out!
Warms the cockles of your heart doesn't it
great footage beans
Still loving this. Up the town!
Wrexham became more popular than most premier league teams
Make the most of it 🎆then 🕳
why not, it was a long time down and nobody else is going to have the fun for us. .Most of us Wrexham we are very aware on the whole scheme of things a promotion to league 2 is hardly Open Bus stuff.. But i was there the only other time a open top bus was cheered through town streets by 40,000 ..That was 1978 when we won Division 2 and Bill Shankly said we were the finest footballing side he had ever seen outside Div 1 .. That bus was long time coming back 45 years to be exact COYR lol
Americans traveling over the atlantic for that? They need their heads checked!
To be fair, they were already holidaying in Dublin, so it's just a quick hop over with the ferry.
It's the joy of the community!
yeh right Andy and Brits spending tens of thousands to take little brats travel over the Atlantic to see Micky Mouse and ride on a dumbass fairground rides in Disneyland is normal
