- Heres another good going set from the 'Tyunes' band.
We are an acoustic band based in the Shetland Isles with a love of american old time music & Shetland fiddle tunes with a hint of Scottish & Irish thrown in.......
This set consists of four tunes - 'Lynda's Reel' was written was written by Bobby Tulloch, a well known character, Shetland wildlife enthusiast and musician who was Lynda's next door neighbour in Mid Yell, 'Fat Mountain' was written by Russ Barenberg from Nashville, 'Murphy's' is a well known Irish reel - probably known by other names but that's what we call it & finally ''Shove That Pigs Foot a Little Further Into the Fire' is a well known classic American Old Time standard.
Fiddle - Lynda Anderson
Mandolin - Kenny Johnson
Guitar - Grant Nicol
Double Bass - Graham Malcolmson
Hope you enjoy our music......
Juist fun dis, brilliant, mind de at da foy.
A great test for a great tune when one hears one well played. "Is it a toe tapper". Played here, Lynda"s Reel passes this simple test with gold stars
This fiddler is very precise, knows her music very well, has a very good sense of timing so her music flows freely. Her fiddling is pleasant to the ear and easy to listen to.I love these tunes.Of course the other players are great too. Together they are #1
Beautiful music, I like the fiddler
love you all
Excellent!
Absolutely delightful
Absolutely love it.
Awesome !! Love u Kenyy . x
Even though I’m American by birth, myself and most of the rest of the folks who live in Appalachia have a special place in our heart for Scotland, Ireland, and their people. Y’all sound like the old timey mountain music we play here in East Tennessee. Bravo!
after the second jacobite rising in the 1800's, a lot of highlanders had nowhere to escape besides America.
Thanks for your comment, we have a great love of old time & the more modern bluegrass styles here in Shetland! We are all connected 😊
