You're right he's a midfield . He switches the team from defence to attack and if you don't have a player like him you will need at least three players to do that that's why he is one of the best midfield ever in football
The best thing about Zidane is not even his highlights, those are the more inspired plays; but how you could pass the ball to him throughout the game and he would do the right thing 90%+ of the time. It’s the definition of a solid midfield.
His strong foot is supposed to be the right one, he mostly played as an offensive midfielder/second striker/left wingfielder with a kyrie erving handle, an iverson killer crossover, a larry bird cluchness and game I.Q, a mixed magic/jason kidd court vision and pass, a stephen cuury shot accuracy with george gervin's smoothness and michael jordan's gestual elegance!!
Zidane reminds me of Larry Bird. Not the fastest, looks slow, but football IQ off the chart and still one of the best players ever!
