Zidane’s genius was very very much appreciated by legends from his era.
He played a very simple football - which is very hard - and inspired a generation of playmakers like Kevin de Bruyne and others.
English legend David Beckham once said: “the best thing in Real Madrid was me going to training and watching Zidane play, sometimes I can’t believe that I actually played with him”

Actually, Dinho and Zidane played against each other a few times, Dinho being a barcelona player and Zidane being a Madrid player, but the biggest match they played against each other was in the world cup 2006 Quarter final, France vs Brazil which saw Brazil eliminated by France. Dinho was the FIFA world player at that time (Zidane won that award 3 times vs Dinho 2 times). Dinho was in his prime in 2006 while Zidane actually retired in 2005 and came out of retirement to help France in the world cup. That was a legendary game which saw a fully loaded Brazilian team (Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka who won FIFA world player the following year, Roberto Carlos, Robinho, Adriano, Juninho) completely outclassed by one man: Zidane. If you ever get the chance to watch that game, watch it, it's an iconic world cup game. Taking nothing away from Dinho, I love both players but Zidane was on a different level than any other player during his playing time, especially on the biggest stage when it mattered the most. I can type here all day and explain to you why he's a level above Dinho but his trophy case speaks for itself. Zidane is the only player to have ever won every trophy to be won on a club, international and individual level. He's literally won everything.

When we see the guy playing, it look like a Fifa player, seeing the game from the sky, and knowing the position of all his mates in real time. This is the only player that showed us such skill. Ronaldinho brought millions of fans to the game. He was so good, but also the most entertaining soccer player to ever live.
Zidane was elegant, still not as pretty to watch as Ronaldinho, but a more effective #10. Yes, if I was to chose a player for my team between them, I would select Zidane. This is my knock on Ronaldinho as he loves the game so much, that he almost didn't care whether he won or lost. Zidane had the killer instinct. He took his French national team to the world cup 3 times, winning two of them where he destroyed Ronaldinho's Brazil both time. And at least one of those times Brazil had both Ronaldinho and Ronaldo (#9), two top 5 players! However, Zidane ended his career on the worst play of his career. That head butt was in the final of a world cup against Italy. It cost him a red card and France lost against Italy. It was Zidane's last game. It was the worst way to finish a stellar career.

I fucking miss him, he's from my town, i saw him growing as a kid in Cannes when he was 16-18 years old ...
    And a very humble man
No other player you can see for he last 50 years can be compared to Zidane
and like you said if you meet this guy in the street you would NEVER imagine this man could be so elegant with a ball.
He was able to create offensive moves more than assists he was the best for pre assists ... like in Hochey if i could compare ...

The roulette (360° spin move) was his signature move, but you might be surprised about how easy it is to pull off. In clubs we teach it to kids about 5-7 years old. However being able to do it when surrounded by pros is a whole other matter. It's a pity that the video didn't show much about his passing and game vision, because that's what he's mostly known about and what actually matters most in football.
