Yah man for sure. I’ll be watching a few more. I’m gonna do a video next week showing off all the criterion’s I got and by then I should have seen almost all and can discuss it even more.
I just stumbled upon your channel and decided to check it out. Great pick-ups for this round. Leave Her To Heaven is one of my favorites in the stack. Vincent Price is awesome in the courtroom scenes. Really enjoyed your synopsis and presentations. Looking forward to getting to know your channel. Great job. Subbed. 😀👋👋
Must be doing something right if Stephanie approves! Thanks so much. I’m glad to see ur back! Leave her to Heaven is excellent, I’ve convinced a few people to grab it lol.
Just watched your part one and part two videos, haven’t seen your overall collection video yet although clearly you are sitting in front of a great array of titles. An excellent selection of pick ups there. I’m a big fan of A Man Escaped, my favourite Bresson. L’Argent though was actually the first of his I saw, at the BFI in London many years ago. I love all the colourful Douglas Sirk melodramas so good to see one in your part 1. Thanks for commenting on my video the other day, pleased to now be aware of you. All the best
Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch Neil. I just saw L’argent the other night and I would I say I preferred A Man Escaped overall. Interested in seeing Mouchette. Douglas Sirk is fantastic! I have loved all three films I have seen so far and he has a few others on my watchlist.
@@cinema.inspired oh yeah, a big difference between those two films. I actually rewatched L’Argent about a year ago and realized I had misremembered a scene involving a violent slap. My imagination was obviously a lot more active as the scene itself didn’t play out nearly as dramatically, haha. Both Mouchette and Au Hasard Balthazar are very bleak films but interesting watches nonetheless. I loved the recent EO, Skolimowski’s homage to Balthazar. Anyway, all the best
Literally every single one of your pickups are on my wishlist. 😅 I was looking up all the Criterion movies that Catherine Deneuve in them and that's how I found out about Last Metro. Even though I don't see eye to eye with all of her opinions she's made public, I'm usually fascinated by her performances. They had it at B&N really early on when I started collecting, but I haven't seen it since. Leave Her to Heaven is another one that I really want to check out. I'm really hoping the next time I go in, they have it. Great haul overall, Alex. I've been dropping in from time to time and picking up one or two. My wife and I are heading in later today, but I'll probably only do a single video at the end of the sale. Had to keep it relatively small this month.
there’s some great films here! Only one I haven’t enjoyed are palm beach story and L’argent. I think last metro used to be a digipak and now it’s a keep case but it’s harder to find. I had to resort to Amazon for that one. Leave her to Heaven is excellent. I saw some ppl hate on it but I think it’s fantastic. I love Gene Tierney. Hopefully you can grab some today! Whether it’s 5 titles or 25 titles, any amount of criterion’s is good lol.
Damn straight! 😂. Yeah, I just bought a lot during the VinSyn sale at the end of May and during the Midway sales at the beginning of July. Have to balance it out a bit. Plus, I don't like to get so many that I can't watch them. I blind buy a lot, so it feels like a waste if they're not properly enjoyed.
@@make_it_good I’ve reviewed 60% of my criterion’s and I’ve seen roughly 70% of them. Every month I like to focus on one label and watch everything I own. I know ur a big Vinegar fan, I only got like 10 titles.
I went so far as to create a spreadsheet that I can update periodically as I watch and purchase new movies. I'm at around 15% of my collection unwatched, but that's still around 100 titles that still need watching. 😅 My goal at the end of the year is to have it under 5%. Hard to do when I keep getting more. 😂
Great haul. A lot of stuff I hadn’t heard of before.
Excited by all the positive words you have for Leave Her to Heaven. Glad I picked that one up.
Hope you enjoy it man! I liked it more the second time as well
I love Love & Basketball. Some great pickups! Enjoyed hearing your comments on them.
It’s a great movie! Thanks Miranda!
Great haul. I really appreciate you highlighting some lesser talked about Criterions.
Thanks!
That’s a whole lotta movies I haven’t seen or heard of but a lot of them sound interesting. Gonna be adding some to my wishlist for sure.
