I have no anxiety while sleeping. I pray divine mercy chaplet. And i put rosary under my pillow (I learned it from my grandmother). Before going to bed I draw cross on my head & chest just using fingers.

The sign of the cross and the Our Father is an amazing miracle. My sister in 2010 had incurable brain cancer. When she started to get agitated I would tell her “let’s say the Lord’s Prayer. She would calm right down. The nurses were upset with me because I didn’t tell them that this kept her calm. Another time was when my father was dying. He was unconscious but I said to him “Let’s say the Our Father and Hail Mary”. Before we were done he passed peacefully. GOD is great. AMEN!

Before my father died we prayed the LORD'S Prayer 3 times, he told us that he will leave us on June 9, we didn't take his words seriously , but on June 9, 2024, he died peacefully. In his deathbed he holds the rosary and embraced the Divine Mercy photo.

Three years ago I got ill with encephalitis and lost the use of my legs; my mind went wild as I saw huge owls in front of my window with a bat around their neck, their bodies crawling with mice or rats. One night I woke up and I thought I saw an elephant, but I wasn't afraid, and I called my nurse to gently lead the elephant out of my room. She answered with an Okay and that was that. That was a terrible time for me. As a Religious, I taught in Catholic schools all my life in the USA and Germany, and then I got ill. I was put on cortisone to fight the infection in my brain. When I got sick I was on a home visit at my mother's in a city in Germany. I began getting sick and vomiting. On the second day, I was unable to stand to go to the bathroom. I dragged myself along the wall to the bathroom. My mother called an ambulance, and I took me from the bathroom onto a stretcher down the stairs to a local hospital. I was in the hospital for 10 weeks. I could hardly eat and was disoriented. I was terrified, for I had never been ill before that. After 10 weeks I was transported via ambulance to our Motherhouse in Northern Germany to a local Hedonklinik for Physical therapy. I could no longer walk. I practiced standing in the hospital, but I could not walk, after 5 weeks of strenuous physical therapy and occupational therapy I began to walk with the rollator, and my eye-hand coordination began to improve. Then I began continuously vomiting white stuff, nonstop. It was terrible. I got home, worked with therapy, and even got to the point of starting to walk slowly with a cane, but then I got sick again. I began to sleep a lot. Then I got to the point that I did not wake up. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance right to ICU. I do not remember any of this. I was told that my co-sisters prayed day and night at my side. By all logic, I was supposed to die. My mother had even been called to my side because supposedly I was dying. Then I got to the point that I heard praying at my bedside in the hospital. Someone spoke to me, one of my co-sisters whom I treasured but had died the year before. Another person told me to pray, and I did. I eventually woke up and my mother was at my side with tears and my mind was clear. I could not walk. I stayed another week but then was released home to our Motherhouse. Physical therapy started again, but this time I could not move my legs. My legs were bent under terrible pain. One evening I asked Jesus in tears as if he were near me, and begged me to help me walk again. I prayed this every day with the Our Father and Hail Mary, and prayers for the souls in purgatory. After about a week, I could sit alone on the edge of my bed and hold up my body. My therapist told me to scoot to the end of the bed and push myself up at the end of the bed frame. I could stand for almost a minute. Everything developed from that point. During my convalescence, I finished the novel that I had worked on for a few years. I wrote it in English and then rewrote it in German and sent it to a publishing company, and my novel was published. All I want to express with this experience is the power of prayer, believing that Jesus is the Lord of Life and my Love, and my drive to get well again. Thank you Jesus for all the good I have received.
