You forgot to mention that new blood is made in the bones, so without bones, you will slowly run out of blood over the course of a month

Nah dude, just become a blood drinking vampire blob. Steal it from others!

@@Guru_1092 it would be less blood sucking and more like getting transfusions regularly, just drinking it not only breaks down the blood, defeating the entire purpose, but also potentially give you diseases

I'd say that's a lot more of a problem than possible injury

Not just that, but, if I remember my physiology correctly, you need your ribs to be able to breathe at all. Something about creating the necessary thoracic pressure for air to get sucked into your lungs

This is just the episode of Family Guy "Viewer Mail" where Peter Griffin meets a genie and accidently wishes that he had no bones.

he actually *does* live without bones.
the question here remains somewhat unanswered; obviously, you would require external life support to feed you and remove wastes since you can no longer obtain your own food (and your smooth muscles won't be able to contract) but, if those things were provided on a regular basis, *could you stay alive?*
is there anything else your body absolutely requires from your bones that it cannot obtain from other tissues in your body? are there any other essentials bones provide?

I don’t care. I want boneless, extra crispy, with 11 secret herbs and spices! Finger-licking good.

I wish he'd have went into more of why you couldn't survive. This isn't very informative otherwise. I'm pretty sure certain organs like the heart and lungs are sort of "anchored" to your ribs/spine/diaphragm, and they need the "torque" they provide to function. I don't think your lungs would inflate or your heart would beat properly without that, and that's probably the more immediate reason you couldn't survive without bones.

having bones is also the reason our brains hate sloshing so without any hard objects inside that can hurt it it won't need that much protection
