just wondering, have you ever heard about anyone suffering from migraines in Panama or even portugal? meanign are they better or worse as compared to wherever the folks came from?

@@notthesamecc1927 not exactly but a couple of thoughts come to mind. You could experience bad headaches due to different types of allergies or changes in elevation (altitude sickness). Other than that, loud music in either country could be headache inducing haha

Nice videos. But once again, I have to say (not to you personally), that YAY, the American Gringo once again drives up real estate prices, builds 'gated communities' because god forbid they should learn the language or live with the locals. So just take it over instead, right? I was lucky to see some of the places I did before they became completely ruined...Mexico, Hawaii, etc. Yes, I'm old. And I found that by learning the language and living like a local gave me a most magnificent experience that I wouldn't change for anything. And my young children got to use their imaginations without a TV around and thank god we didn't have computers then.

I appreciate your perspective. We are all gringos at first until one day we're not. And those hidden gems don't stay hidden forever unfortunately. This gentrification happens everywhere and is a complicated issue. Perhaps I'll do a video on it to understand it a little more. Thanks for your comment.

Just saw this in an article "Prices in Boquete are higher than the surrounding areas thanks to the expat influence on the market." So peeps, when you find your paradise, don't advertise it! Thanks again for the beautiful video.

I remember Boquete, Volcan and Cerro Punta in the 1970's. Then, there were NO gated communities with large homes. Homes were modest and charming, and it wasn't touristic but more of a working coffee growing region. There were Americans, Canadians, a few French and Swiss nationals living there but they were all low key, living amongst Panamanians enjoying the local culture. It was truly wonderful!!!

You can drive a car, take a bus, or fly to David from Albrook airport in Panama City and take a short bus ride from there.

I have driven Panama City to David---Be careful. I recommend being the slowest driver on the road- Let the locals drive around you. There are regions on the way, there can be heavy rains. In David, the turnoff to Boquete is not well marked. Keep an eye out for the small sign. Road up to Boquete is beautiful.

For how local authorities behaved with the Dutch girl's murder case in Boquete, I would NEVER EVER come there, literally shameful

I'm aware of the tragedy but not the details of the case. Shouldn't be a show stopper for anyone thinking of visiting or living in Boquete. Trouble happens everywhere and communities mature and move past the mistakes of their past. I don't think Boquete is moving in the wrong direction in terms of crime. I respect your opinion though. Thanks

@@beasleyfinds I am aware of the details of the tragedy, I think you should get informed about the details before you invite people there! REMEMBER that they come here to be charity teachers as well as be girls that want to live! There are crazy people everywhere in the world, I've been living and traveling all around the world. The issue here is that crazy people are everywhere in the world but I complain about NORMAL people around Boquete who do no act and authorities who do not act and hide processes.

@@thomasl.2202 You implied that the local authorities were incompetent or did a cover up and that some "crazy evil person" killed them. 1) On April 1st the girls went on a hike on a challenging jungle trail. They probably had an accident along the way being injured. They were reported missing on April 2nd, and a search began. April 6, their Dutch family and DUTCH INVESTIGATORS arrived in Panama. On Aril 8th, about 90 pics were taken between 1-4 am. I think that they might have been attacked by a Puma, and the surviving girl used the flash to scare the animal away or producing some light. It's very dark and cold at night at that altitude... Most people that they would meet in the jungle would be the local Indians or peasants who are by nature kind and helpful (but they would never be out in the jungle at night without shelter). That area is extremely safe and many young traveler have volunteer, travelled there, back packed, many single women have done it for many decades without being assaulted or raped. It's probably one of the safeties areas of Panama by far. My heart goes out to the girls and their families, may they Rest In Peace. Here is a SUN article about the case... www.thesun.co.uk/news/23041623/major-update-mystery-panama-jungle-girls-new-search/
