    I've lived in David for 5 years. The city has more wildlife than rainy, always cold Boquette. Beaches, islands, fishing boats, mountains, waterfalls, rivers, within 50 minutes. Gyms, hospitals, Chiropractors, discos, bowling, airport, baseball, ect. Oh! And everyday highs between 82 and 95. Bags of farm food for $1. You'd hate it. Please don't come!!

      Panama has everything depending on what you want. In a nice small package too! The world is a big place though so there are a lot of choices. I think that's why the country offers the pensionado visa and others to incentivize people with money to move there. Glad to hear you enjoy David but that is way too hot for me. Maybe somewhere halfway up the mountain between Boquete and David though!

    As someone who’s gone back and forth to Peru for years, I’d like to live there in retirement. But they’ve changed the immigration rules. You now only get 90 days a year. And a longer term visa (‘carnet de extranjeria’)is difficult to obtain with the millions of Venezuelans that have flooded the country. What to do, 😳!

    • @beasleyfinds
      @beasleyfinds Před 2 měsíci

      I understand there are a lot of issues now with immigration that you have pointed out. I think there are more visa options than what you've mentioned here, especially for retirees but you have to qualify for them. My wife and father in law are dual citizens so it's pretty easy for them. But for a gringo like myself I need to further explore my options

Volcan and nearby Paso Anchon and surroundings had NO rentals available, Boquete was too crowded and too expensive. My visit also included Pacific coast villages like Boca Chica, Puerto Armuelles, and Playa de Barquete. Too hot! I still have relatives there so it is disturbing. The Americans look for the "good" areas as opposed to the "bad" areas to live. Here comes the gentrification. I need to be in Peru. My parents gave me a house that is paid off here in Oklahoma. So I could do a couple of months renting it out to roommates every year while I spend a few months in Peru. That’s the goal at least. Noviembre - Enero would be perfecto

      This people is gentrifying our main cities like is already happening in CDMX, we should NO alllow this to happen, must ask for the same documents and requirements they do to our people for entering their country. That's would be a fair trade.

    For how local authorities behaved with the Dutch girl's murder case in Boquete, I would NEVER EVER come there, literally shameful

    • @beasleyfinds
      @beasleyfinds Před 5 měsíci

      I'm aware of the tragedy but not the details of the case. Shouldn't be a show stopper for anyone thinking of visiting or living in Boquete. Trouble happens everywhere and communities mature and move past the mistakes of their past. I don't think Boquete is moving in the wrong direction in terms of crime. I respect your opinion though. Thanks

      @@beasleyfinds I am aware of the details of the tragedy, I think you should get informed about the details before you invite people there! REMEMBER that they come here to be charity teachers as well as be girls that want to live! There are crazy people everywhere in the world, I've been living and traveling all around the world. The issue here is that crazy people are everywhere in the world but I complain about NORMAL people around Boquete who do no act and authorities who do not act and hide processes.

      @@thomasl.2202 You implied that the local authorities were incompetent or did a cover up and that some "crazy evil person" killed them. 1) On April 1st the girls went on a hike on a challenging jungle trail. They probably had an accident along the way being injured. They were reported missing on April 2nd, and a search began. April 6, their Dutch family and DUTCH INVESTIGATORS arrived in Panama. On Aril 8th, about 90 pics were taken between 1-4 am. I think that they might have been attacked by a Puma, and the surviving girl used the flash to scare the animal away or producing some light. It's very dark and cold at night at that altitude... Most people that they would meet in the jungle would be the local Indians or peasants who are by nature kind and helpful (but they would never be out in the jungle at night without shelter). That area is extremely safe and many young traveler have volunteer, travelled there, back packed, many single women have done it for many decades without being assaulted or raped. It's probably one of the safeties areas of Panama by far. My heart goes out to the girls and their families, may they Rest In Peace. Here is a SUN article about the case... www.thesun.co.uk/news/23041623/major-update-mystery-panama-jungle-girls-new-search/
