This week we wanted to discuss the concept of Creativity vs Commodity in Marketing. From Lana Del Rey for SKIMS, to Beyonce Superbowl, to the Hailey Bieber Rhode phone case-- so much of success is centered around being data driven. However, time and time again we see creativity and art is what really pushes the needle of internet culture.
There have been so many fascinating campaigns lately it felt like the perfect time to go through them all and analyze why they went viral.

This episode was so good. Love the deep dives but these more conversational episodes are definitely needed as well.
You have no idea how HAPPY that makes us to hear. I love our deep dive episodes and I think having the opportunity to do a lot of research on 1 topic is super important. However, sometimes internet culture moves sooo fast we want to be able to talk about a multitude of topics with you all :)

when i visited europe they told my family never to eat at restaurants with food advertised on the window. the good restaurants never need to advertise their food. very similar sentiment
Hi, just a general fact for you, guys: What you're doing with your channel is entertaining, educational, inspiring and motivational at the same time.
1. Entertaining because you share your ideas with each other, like how two friends share the town's newest gossip with each other
2. Educational because you share your knowledge about certain aspects of life/ the music industry that isn't so common with the audience
3. Inspiring because you inspire other content creators, and who knows, maybe you start a new trend within this field lol
4. Motivational because you encourage us to widen our horizon beyond the mainstream, shimmery, and glittery fame
Overall, your videos helped me a lot with seeing the music industry in a different light ( e.g. how much work is put in a project behind the scenes, but you also taught me about those aspects of fame that are well calculated or maybe even not so bright as the stars on the sky at night). So, I just wanted to say thank you!❤

As the daughter of an owner of an advertising agency, I eat this up EVERY week and then am just sad for all the days in between

Oh my God I’m obsessed with the fact that you’re actually talking about Madame Webb. I posted this whole thread on Twitter about how I feel like she literally signed on this movie just to get a paycheck. And then now that the movie is like out and it’s a huge flop, I was begging my boyfriend to go see it with me because I thought it was going to be like an iconic flop. Like her very subtle, barely there acting performance style in such an overdramatic and intense world, like the marvel/Sony world, could do nothing else other than be an utter train wreck. Also, just the fact that they were trying to create this like Ra ra girlhood sisterhood movie with such subtle actors absolutely killed me and I need to see it!! it’s giving “The Room” 😂
