And his intellect was also showcased when he broke into Hank's metal vault to steal from him in this movie. We also see him messing around the suit's regulator, and he thought about using the discs to return from going subatomic. I feel like both of them are relatable though, Peter for teens, while Scott for adults.

Scott's casual greeting and honest explanation to Falcon was probably what actually saved their ass in the end. Because that in-turn I think is what convinced Falcon to just let it go and say "It's really important to me that Cap never finds out about this." rather than to gather the Avengers and actually persue the intruder. I mean, Scott even said he was gonna bring it back.

He probably found out real quick what was going on, when he contacted Shield and they heard "Ant-man." After all, shrinking tech and Ant-man is basically the hallmark of Hank Pym, so they definitely recognized the name. Falcon was likely sent to look for Hank Pym through Scott. They need to find more Avengers, after all, and he is about as OG as Avengers go.
I love how Ant Man went from fighting a guy with similar ability in real world to fighting a multiversal threat in quantum dimension.

Something I love about this movie is it portrayed how the Avengers are scene by people more on the outside. Scott's first suggestion was calling the Avengers when he found out about all this and upon seeing the compound is the Avengers HQ and not some old warehouse from Stark Industries, Scott freaks out while Hank and Hope tell him to get the hell out of there immediately. Even the people who depend on them fear them.
To be fair Scott was freaking out because the threat level of the heist changed, and he's only prepped for the basics of Ant-Manning/Smal Heisting and not to take on the Avengers. I'd say the Avengers are necessary not feared here(except Hulk) not until Civil War but even then, that was more of a government fear and them being outlawed. in Homecoming the heroes aren't treated as fears there with the kids bringing them up and Cap's detention videos still being played .

Ant-Man was one of the few MCU movies with acting that wasnt overly-dramatic. It had a nice balance of humor and warmth, which is why its one of my favorites!
It was well-timed with how dark the MCU was beginning to get(and it had to be with what was coming). Ant Man refreshed the humor without taking away from the overall shadow that was coming through the MCU. And then later we get a booster with Spider-Man.
Odd, it's one of the very few MCU movies I haven't watched.

I really like how Hank went from not really being happy with Hope in the first movie and then saying he loves Hope in the second movie. It really shows character development.
I don't think this was one of the MCU's most amazing movies, but it had some great humor.
"Hi, I'm Scott" and "Did he just say 'Hi I'm Scott'?" still makes me laugh every time.
Actually, those are errors that Scott made.
1: Instead of trying to retreat or hide, he grows back to normal size
2: Reveals his face
3: Announces his name

The scene is clearly played for shits and giggles. Of course those were all silly mistakes. The scene is meant to read as something ridiculous, like the common phrase "did that really just happen?" Scott messes up so bad that Hope needs confirmation that he really just did all of those things because its unbelievable someone would be that bad at hero-ing. It's funny for the audience, obviously not for Hope and Hank (bless their patience). The whole scene is meant to be comedic for the audience, as Scott is shown to not be a typical "hero" from the start, and his reaction to meeting another "hero" continues to confirm that he is atypical compared to previously seen heroes.
Aside from that, listen all I came here to do was too share a scene that made me genuinely laugh and find joy. Continue the joy, and hope you find some good laughs too. Have a happy new year!

Also, pretty sure the Avengers weren't government at that point as SHIELD had been disbanded and they'd moved into a renovated Stark warehouse.

This was one of the first times in an MCU movie where I really felt like any hero could just pop up in any movie other than just avengers movies.

So I’m gathering that Scott could take out any tech-based character just by pulling their circuits apart. He shut down Falcon’s pack here, he nearly killed past Tony in Endgame, and it’s essentially how he beats the antagonist of this movie as well.
Tech based heroes are an easy win for antman, but I feel even heroes like doctor strange or Wanda might have trouble if they can’t even see Scott coming.

I remember when i saw that scene on theatre. I loved how the team started freaking out the moment they saw the Avengers symbol. It showed how they are not to be played with regardless of who you are.

This was such a fun and surprisingly good movie. Given how silly a hero called "Ant-Man" sounded like when they first announced it back then. Much like how unexpectedly good the first Guardians of the Galaxy was. Why can't Marvel make great movies like this with their new introduced heroes.

This is the scene that caused marvel and Edgar wright to part ways. Edgar didn't want to change his movie to inject a scene with falcon. Marvel demanded it.

Captain America Civil War: Fought with the Avengers against other Avengers.
Endgame: Literally taught the Avengers to time travel so they could undo the work done by the being that defeated the Avengers.
Quantamania: Going up against a man who killed ALL of the Avengers.....numerous times.
Conclusion: Scott Lang is an absolute beast.

I really liked this fight, because it's the rare complete transporting of a comic-book style "what if X fought Y" fight. Usually fights in these movies are folks with similar powers fighting each other, or at least one of them have had their powers DESIGNED to interact with the protagonist's in a particular way, OR it's just simple super strength and martial arts. This was a fun match-up because it's two pretty much incomparable sets of abilities, neither of which were designed to fight the other, so you get the really inventive feeling of creators stepping through and "discovering" how the fight "would" go.

Ant-Man is literally just some guy who got powers. Even for a convict he's so polite.
Sam literally went from being the security guy of avengers campus to Captain America, and i love it.

Hank Pym fears losing the suit to a Stark. Knowing what chaos they can do with the technology and the capacity of Pym Particles. You could see such fear when he realizes the warehouse belongs to Stark Industries (now upgraded to Avengers Base). And I don’t think he knows that the Starks gave up their sales on War tech. . .
I’m a little surprised that Falcon didn’t try to question him further right there, like; “what specifically are you after?” Or “how exactly is the world in danger” if scott claims the world is in danger, I’d try to hear him out first, especially since he seemed so cooperative and polite
