@@gabrielgills597 you'd like an anime, Code Geass. It's continuation in the following movie has exactly that premise - a villain with groundhog day power
This ended up being quite long. Tl;dr: Series about a Superhero that Groundhogdays when he dies, but we don't know that at the start of the series. It would actually be pretty cool to see a series about a badass hero with no obvious superpower. And he always knows a guy around town that can help with a problem, but when they go to meet them, our hero is usually more familiar with the random guy than the guy is with the hero. If he bumps into someone on the street, he'll apologize by name, and they will look at him slightly confused and suspicious, and just say "It's alright... pal." Could have the first few episodes be from the perspective of an outsider that just arrived in the city, and helps him out with superhero stuff. At the halfway point of the series, we suddenly start an episode in the past, and the badass hero is the protagonist, but he's weaker, less competent, and less charismatic than we've seen before. The episode starts with him waking up and saying something like "Weird dream...", and the episode follows him trying to fight a supervillain, and mostly failing, but making up for it with effort, but then towards the end of the episode he slips up and is captured by the villain, and in a huge plot-twist he just gets shot and dies and the villain moves on with his plan for a few minutes before the episode ends. Then the next episode, we see a repeat of the previous episode, where the badass hero wakes up and says "Weird dream...", but this time he stops and reacts like he realizes that it wasn't a dream. And the first half of the episode goes through mostly the same day as before, but he reacts a little better, and looks like he predicts events, but at the halfway point of the episode he dies again. Then we get a classic montage of trying to perfect the day and stop the villain, while he slowly becomes competent. At the end of the episode, he manages to stop the villain, and it looks like the episode is going to end with him lying tired on the ground, but it cuts to the same shot that starts all his days, with some music playing, but as he enters the frame we see that he's now battered and covered in bruises, and that's where the episode ends. The third episode following him is back in the present, and he's now how we knew him at the start of the series. He's strong, competent, and charismatic, but the first words we hear from him this episode is something like "Fuck...". So we follow him as he tries to save the day, but he dies randomly and restarts the day. They manage to save the day, and the episode ends, and the next episode follows the protagonist from the first episodes again, but now we recognize what the badass is going through daily, and we just see the days where he has perfected his day. This is sort of inspired by "Edge of Tomorrow", because I kind of want to see a movie about what happens to the character after they're released from their loop
