Not to blame the friends at all but please don't ever let your friends go off with guys you've never met before
One time in high school, two of my cousins were hanging out at my house with me while our parents went to my aunt's house right down the road. We were outside and a car came around and one of my cousins started talking to the guys in the car. My other cousin and I hadn't met them before and they were acting like players. Before we knew it, our other cousin had hopped in the car with them and took off! I immediately called my aunt's house to tell her mom and she was getting worried because I didn't know names or anything, but then she turned up down there. Turns out she did know them from school and asked them for a ride down the road but didn't clearly communicate that to me or our other cousin. But for a few minutes there we were pretty scared, anything could have happened.
So true! Stick with your friends, especially when you’re out in an unknown place.
I was thinking the same thing! I know she’s grown but I’m 24 and my friends would rather me being a dude to our hotel than me to dip off with some unknown man
Honestly, you need to at least make an attempt, if someone had even come and intervened it really might have gone differently if people knew she'd be getting looked for the next day and that people had seen their faces, even if they couldn't convince her to not go.
Exactly
It's pretty weird how the friends notice that she was drinking a whole lot more, and yet let her get into a vehicle with 3 strangers.
I think I’d have been more suspicious of them too…
It was definitely a set up they charged one guy but he had two accomplices with him that weren't charged plus one wasn't even a us citizen Aruba officials would not cooperate with the mother of Natalie either her mom put up 1 million dollars to investigate how her daughter went missing but she was banned from Aruba definitely a setup
Exactly
seriously! it’s super frustrating cause if my friend was drinking a lot more then she would usually i’d be concerned
Agreed! I NEVER let my friends out of my sight when we were young (I was always the DD) We came together-we gonna leave together! Periodttt. My friends hated that back then but now...they appreciate that I was that way for them 💜
Binge watching Bailey and took a tik tok break just to learn this case was actually solved. Jordan finally admitted that he killed Natalee and threw her body in the ocean all because she turned him down. So heartbreaking, but at least her family finally got true closure after all this time.
was just abt to comment this! finally some answers for everyone
Jordan?
@@dans9596yes as a person who lives where she went to highschool at, it was really peaceful seeing this happen my aunt told me about this case a few years ago because i was born around when it happened so i didn’t know about
@@L1velaughl3igh._Joran. The Dutch guy. I assume Jordan is a typo.
Seeing this resolved is what brought me back here to rewatch! It's sad but at least the family have answers and a bit of closure at least. It's just sad there's no body to have a funeral with
I wish every missing person case would get this much attention and effort
Oh shut up
Unfortunately unless you’re wealthy, attractive, or young, you can go missing and nobody will really say a word about it. You certainly won’t get national or international coverage. It’s sad that society inherently places different values on people’s lives.
If private monet is involved, it would. Unfortunately we all don't come from that and people were on a treasure hunt.
Another additional note: The man that was the frontman for the press and had close relations with Natalee's family in the dutch investigation was named Peter R. De Vries. He got killed earlier this year by being shot in the back of his head while walking through the streets of Amsterdam because of another investigation he was a part of into a big crime ring. Peter R. De Vries got Joran's confession on tape due to an undercover agent. Sadly the tape wasn't admissible. Peter R. De Vries never stopped fighting for justice even though he knew about the danger he brought himself in. Most Dutch people know about him, he's a household figure. Just wanted to share his name so we don't forget that even though there are bad people in this world there are also many great people like Peter.
Yes! I wanted to write this, but couldn't find the words. he was so important!
Thank you for sharing. I'm going to look into it more now.
Peter R de Vries is the reason i got into true crime in the first place, still heartbroken about his death
Yes, I wanted to add this as well! Rest in Peace, Peter and Natalee.
I still can’t believe he’s gone.. he was one of those guys who wasn’t afraid of anything and i just never thought this would actually happen to him. It’s very sad, he was a hero to so many. Rust in vrede Peter❤️
They never found her body because she was probably off that island before anyone even knew that she was missing. Human traffickers probably had a boat waiting and the 3 boys lured her to the beach under the pretense of “going to see some sharks.” A young, beautiful, naive, and intoxicated tourist is a prime target for traffickers. So sad. PLEASE be careful while on vacation in foreign countries. Never let your guard down and trust no one.
This right here. :(
Na sis he killed her r u ok ? U can’t be this dumb
@@bellateresa2710 You have no clue what you're talking about. I know the family and there absolutely was evidence that she was trafficked
And go anywhere alone!!

I’m glad you mentioned the needed attention for every missing woman regardless of race. This is so vital.
*Every missing person
But sadly the reality is different
Here's to Joran spending 20 years in an Alabama prison just in time for Natalee's birthday 🥂 RIP to Natalee and I hope her mother gets some semblance of peace.
Agreed, I heard about the recent news. I wanted to rewatch the video to get all the details again. It’s a relief that he’s been caught, but the whole case is still sad.
He is *CAUGHT*!!!!!
It’s definitely Girl Code not to let your friend go off with strangers……Especially if she’s been drinking. I’d rather she be mad at me for blocking rather than doing nothing and seeing her get hurt.
Exactly right!
These are the kind of friends I want for my kids 👏🏽👏🏽
Yassss!!!! 🙌🏻 women need to pay attention! If you have friends that just let you wonder off with random men, they don’t have your back boo!
Sometimes you can't stop them. Going off and leaving you to get home alone is really bad too.

How did you KNOW?!?
Lol same
I did that a lot until I had a dream about Jeffrey Dahmer so I was like yeah no not doing that again 😂

I'd hate to be those friends, it sounds like they saw her getting into the car, I can't imagine they really had any chance to stop her but I imagine they've carried a lot of guilt. Heart breaking.
I would have called the police and gave them the license plate number
I was gonna say he finally admitted it. Bailey you should do an update episode for those who don’t follow!
The most confusing thing to me is why a high school would bring a bunch of teenagers to Aruba to party in the first place. That's such a wild concept to wrap my head around these days
Taking high schoolers on trips, even abroad, isn't new but the lack of supervision I think reflects on the tax bracket these kids were in. They probably were very use to having long leashes and were considered "responsible" enough to drink and party and socialize independently. Which led to grave consequences in this case.
Some parents don’t let their kids go to prom because of how wild the kids can get- I suppose this is nothing new. Natalie was set up- these traffickers probably were prepared down to there every move to shop for blonde American white girls. Apparently they catch a higher price in human trafficking than most other demographics
Someone I know had the exact same kind of trip way more recently, and even then I didn't understand why schools or school organizations do the party trips either. She managed to get her stuff stolen from her after leaving it unattended on a beach, due to being way too naive. Luckily nothing worse than that happened.
Her school went to aruba.. Mine went to france and germany. Does schools now still do that tho.
I went on trip my junior yr ( 1998/1999) to Spain with about 10 kids in total with my art teacher and her friend. It’s still blows my mind how little supervision we had. We would be out all night at clubs/clubs during the night and had tons of free time during the day in Majorca, Barcelona and Madrid.
I wholeheartedly HATE unsolved mysteries, and this one is specifically FRUSTRATING 😭
What if she’s the girl Trump is talking about being rescued.

Natalie's Mom dated Jon Benet's Dad. Sus if you ask me.
Missing people in Aruba is extremely rare, and its a country that only depends on tourism. This is why the island placed so much effort in finding her, both because it was extremely uncommon and it will affect the "one happy island," tourism motto we have.
Bon Dia Dushi!! I love Aruba & hope to get back to the island soon!!!
oh wow. that must’ve been scary for people there at the time.
Also, I’ve been to the island 5 times & I’ve always felt very safe. Arubans are so kind- like the afternoons I got lost when I got off the bus & couldn’t figure out how to get back to my AirBnB. A mom & daughter came by & asked if I was lost & gave me directions back to my AirBnB. There was only one AirBnB in that area at the time. They knew the white girl tourist had to be staying at this one place. Then I said “My friends son goes to this preschool” (where I got off the bus) and the Mom knew my friend & her son! That’s the Aruba I know & love!
@@cheri618 I was a student in “middle school” in Aruba that’s ages 6 to 12 and they closed the school so we can help search for her. Children searching for a potential dead body. It honestly makes me feel so awful when I people say we did nothing, while at 12 years old, I was helping out looking for potentially a dead body.
Right, I plan to never visit that island. There are safer places out there
It’s nice knowing that there’s finally a real answer as to what happened to Natalee. Now she can rest in peace
What happened ????!

Could you imagine being the parents of Natalie and hearing all these horrible made up things about your daughter and also listening to all these "fake confessions" over and over again. This is truly heart breaking.
Absolutely horrible
That is heartbreaking and traumatic. I have to say her parents did everything in their power to find their daughter and hopefully that gives them a bit of solace. Nothing else they could do.
Its would be tortured for me💔😢
Not to mention the backlash that she is getting just for her looks and race? Its really disgusting that horrible things happened to this girl and people want to complain and make it about things that don't matter :( Imagine going through that trauma, then having race politics brought into it
@@mythicalnote1757 sits trueky horrible that happened to her. However as a society we must still acknowledge that people of color aren’t given big headline news coverage for going missing. No one was bashing Natalee just the media.
Natalie’s case has been solved now. She wasn’t the only one he killed and he definitely isn’t serving enough time
@bailey should do an episode about the other girl he killed
As a mom, her story breaks my heart. Her parents deserve to know what happened to her.
Can you just imagine the stress and anxiety of those teachers/chaperones that day realizing one student was missing? On your watch, a teenage girl was missing in a foreign country and now you have to call her parents, your superiors and the local police...
As a teacher (to kindergarten though, not seniors) that just made my stomach roll.. I can't imagine the sheer panic and dread anyone involved has felt ..
honestly anybody who has responsibility over kids that arent their own would be terrified, just thinking about if any kid i have ever had responsibility for got kidnapped or anything like that makes me nauseous. i can understand even better why the teachers got so upset when me and my friend went sneaking down sketchy back alleyways in fiji when we were 16 to find drinks 😅
well they should have done their job as adults. maybe now they will know better and be careful.
@@femalevoice_ I agree 100%, but you can't possibly fully blame the adults here, it was a bundle of shortcomings from so many people -not just the teachers- and a terrible series of unfortunate events that led to this tragedy. Add to that the (sometimes) uncontrollable drive of a bunch of teenagers to "break the rules". It's just a tragedy honestly. The idea of doing your job as a teacher all year long for years on end, then having this chance to lay back and relax on a vacation, only to make one mistake that costs the life of one of the kids you're responsible for .. it's just so daunting.
@@serakayle7903 I don’t think teachers are those that really suffer the most in that story but if that’s what you think
I was living at Aruba at the time. The whole island was turned inside out for Natalie. Aruba is still a very safe island and I never heard of anyone missing besides Natalie. Regardless please take care of your friends and be careful.
Yeah, the island is probably a lot safer now that Joran's in jail overseas and his father is dead....
Wait his father died? Also, since you lived there what was the general consensus on what may hav e happened? This is like that little girl that disappeared in Argentina? I think?
Totally off topic..
where are you originally from? @Barbara
My last name is Ruiz. Sorry if that’s invasive.
On the visit aruba website it shows multiple people who went missing there while on Vacation
Amy Lynn Bradley also went missing there but back in the 90s
I left the bar with a guy in my early 20s around this time and my amazing friend checked his driver's license, got all the info from it, his phone number and license plate number. It made me feel really loved. Almost 20 years later and she's still one of my friends.
As soon as I heard about her friends seeing her leaving with those 3 guys…I was like ‘I’m your in a random strange country and you’re letting her leave with some guys that you don’t know??? Are you crazy?!’
I know, but they were teens unfortunately
That was my first thought. It is their fault first and foremost, no taking care of each other to be found. Second was the dutch guy for sure
Exactly I had a full fist fight with my best friend at 15 she was trying to get in a strangers car and fought me as I dragged her by the hair out.
I feel like when most people do game sponsorships they’re like “it’s super fun, I’m on level 30” or something that doesn’t take much time to get to. But Bailey’s over here like “yea so uh I’m on level 822” and I think it’s hilarious
That's a real endorsement!
She really does love them. She's been telling us about this forever!! 😂
It’s cute
One of the most frustrating things about this case is that I don’t think Natalie’s parents will ever truly know what happened to their daughter and I think that brings Joran some sort of sick pleasure.
It wasn't Jorah, she got sold of into trafficking, its a thing that happens a lot on the Caribbean and latinoamerica, he is guilty of leaving her alone on the beach, everything else is made for media frenzy and to get money
@@BrokenEvil so he confessed multiple times for fun?
@@natalierathbone4349 oh i am not saying he is an innocent fly, he did all of that for money, every single arrest got him interviews, a book and who knows maybe he was the one who sold her off, but since there's absolutely no evidence he knew he was gonna walk, how else could he leave the country and support a life in 2 differents continents, we could even speculate he kept bribing the police as a way to not expose a prostitution ring that involves higher officials, the back and forth announcements, the vague statements of police, I've seen it time and time again in latinoamerica, it's sad, and a horrible truth, please ALWAYS beware when you're vacationing on any Caribbean area, it just takes a minute to slip something on your drink and you're gone forever
Yup
What i find sad, is that "moneypower structure" of both families...
Joran's family had a status in Aruba, aswell as Natalee's family in the states. I think ego didn't help in the search of the truth.
She was definitely thrown into the ocean via boat or something in my opinion. I don’t think tracking water currents would help in this situation because they could’ve driven the boat to any location, made sure her body would sink and threw her overboard. Such a sad story and I really feel for the family for not being able to get answers.
at first I was like "oh this is a gabby petito type case". then the further and further on this story went, the more I was confused even tho I understood what was going on. everything seems like a mass misinformation issue, with a lot of suspicious activity from everyone involved

Human trafficking scares me to the core, one second you’re a free human being living your life and one second later you’re owned by someone and no one knows about you and you’re lost forever.
Most terrifying thing ever
I think that's what happened to her as well. On the islands there are different laws, it's easy to smuggle people on boats and stuff like that.
100% agree. Freaks me out, being abused whenever they have someone that pays for it 😔
So sad, especially when it's young children.
more like everything about humanity scares me to the core
As someone from the Netherlands, this story will never not keep me interested. I 100% believe Joran did it. To add an even more saddening ending: the reporter who did the tell-all was sadly assassinated this summer. He was one of the biggest reporters on Dutch television and had his own show for over 20 years.
That’s insane. It’s a big loss to society.
Rest in peace Peter ❤️
Forever Hero Peter R de Vries 💙

R.i.p. Peter! 💔 zo erg..
In my personal opinion, based on Natalee’s body never being found and the constant dead ends when it comes to suspects or clues… I personally believe she was either kidnapped or sold into s*x slavery. She was a young girl that was beautiful, left either alone or with three young guys, separated from her friends, intoxicated, potentially on a beach, and was never found again. Joran’s story about trading her into slavery for money makes the most sense to me since her body was never found on the island or in the water and they spent over 2 months searching for her. Unfortunately with Natalee’s case, the media will never really know what happened to her, nor will her parents. That fact alone breaks my heart.
They should compile all of his confessions and connect it. I think he is thinking that no one will believe him so one of his confessions MIGHT be true
I understand everyone was 18 on this trip but the adults did not do their job imo. At 30 I would never just let 18 year old girls go off drinking alone. We have a responsibility as older women to watch out for younger girls.
Yeah
That's what I'm thinking. You don't have to 'parent' someone to help them make better choices. Especially if they're intoxicated.
They were extremely irresponsible in a foreign land. The girls had to remain close, no one was supposed to leave with any stranger, especially in Aruba, we've heard back then already about Aruba and trafficking.
Yes! I was also thinking this same thing about her friends as well. I just find it odd that they watched her leave in the silver Honda with three guys they don’t know, and they just let her? I would never let a friend, or a distant classmate that I know by association leave like that when she’s clearly intoxicated. She was failed by a lot of people :/
yeah I would sue the school. adult chaperons but nobody chaperoned!! 🤷♀️ talking is fine but when you leave the premise into some strangers car. guess nobody thought stranger danger
The crime reporters name was Peter R. De Vries. He was recently assasinated here in the Netherlands and sadly passed away. He helped so many people and truly deserves to be remembered as just that: someone who did whatever he could to get justice

The US loses more childrenthan other countries yet the whole world was looking for nathalee come on now
As a woman who lives in the Caribbean the first thing I thought was that they trafficked her, she's a foreigner who's beautiful young and intoxicated... which makes her a easy target😕. I've heard stories of men kidnapping girls and smuggling them to other Caribbean countries by boats. This case breaks my heart, stay safe ladies
The only plausible explanation too, to me
I immediately thought about THIS!
That's what I believe too
Same, it makes a lot of sense.
I just commented the exact same thing.
My two year old says “hi bailayyy” every time I watch you 😂
My heart breaks for her family. I hope they get the answers they so desperately need and deserve ❤️
I couldn’t imagine allowing my friend to leave with random men in another country. I also couldn’t imagine waiting until the next morning to look for her and ensure she was ok.
"If you're over the age of 30, you probably know Natalee Holloway."
Me, a 28-year-old: "Tell me the story, my Elder."
I’m only 23 but I still vaguely remember this happening when I was a kid.
This comment is hilarious! Thanks for that
🤣🤣🤣
29 here 🤣
Sit down and listen, young one.
BAILEY PLEASE DO A UPDATE VIDEO !!!!
Van Der Sloot confessed this year to beating her to death and dumping her in the ocean 😔 so tragic
So Natalie friends saw her leave with 3 male strangers and none of her "friends" made a interceptio? Smh.
(Girl code 1 on 1)
we came together, we leave together💯
I believe this story is what stirred up the girl code culture. I don’t think women looked out for each other quite the same before this. I could be wrong but, even movies from the 70’s insinuate girls would let their friends run off with a hot stranger to get laid.
Maybe she left with multiple men all of the time
@@m.haynes In college in the Nineties we were all worried about roofies - "never let your drink out of your sight" and all that - and everyone I knew went out in groups and always checked in with their friends at parties. However old it makes me feel, this mentality is not new! LOL
I once tried to go home with 3 irish football players (soccer players? As an american idk which I'm supposed to say lol) and my girls wouldn't let me and I remember dramatically being like "but they have accents! Plz!" 🤦 it was humiliating and annoying and yet they didn't give up, and I didn't go.
Not saying something bad totally would've happened, but you really never know..
THANK YOUUUUUUUUU!!! Even in my wildest party days, the rule was 'we come together, we leave together' ... That is the one thing I will NEVER understand in this case. No real friend would let any of their friends get into a car with 3 men , much less in a foreign country. With friends like that , who needs enemies?!
Everyone in the Netherlands know about this story, and nobody calls their child Joran anymore.
Really? I never thought about that impact. Wow.
True haha, we are a small country so something like this blows up 😅
@@glauvie we have only 17 million people living in the Netherlands
that’s quite a stretch loool people still very much use the name 😭😭😭😭 but yeah he is a wicked man and no one ever supported him here
@@myrtevdberg4317 I don't know how it works in your country, but was this guy on the police radar before? Like did he have a police record? He seems evil, and it seems strange that this was his first crime.
I literally watch your videos and they make me fall asleep. Not because they’re boring! They’re not boring at all. There’s just something so comforting about you. You remind me a lot of my sister. I hope you’re doing well. No rush on coming back! You take your time. Life is unpredictable! But we all love you and miss you!!
Needed to watch this again after what just happened.
There isn’t anyone more guilty than someone that keeps inserting themselves into an ongoing investigation…. 👁👄👁
Do you mean "inserting" instead of "extracting?" I don't think you can use the words extract into something.

i'm Dutch and I remember seeing the tapes of Joran's confession... The crime investigator is called Peter R. de Vries helped the family sooo much in this case but sadly he was shot dead earlier this year because he was exposing a big dutch crime ring. R.I.P. Peter, you did so much helping tons of families with their losses.

I would really like a compilation of cuts of Bailey saying “I don’t know” because it’s pretty iconic (and a mood)
I literally read this and right after, Bailey says "I don't know" 🤣
Someone should give us “Bailey Sarian saying I don’t know for 1 hour straight”
YES PLEASE
So sad that Natalee’s family doesn’t know what happened to their daughter. Then to have a suspect who keeps toying with the victim’s family is completely sick. I pray that this family finds peace.
You hit the nail on the head. He toys with them. That's what shows just how sick he is.
Well now we know what really happened to Nathalie …. He confessed this week . Rest in peace Nathalie 🙏🏽
It's so crazy that you can be arrested simply for suspicion! This definately made what her parents were going through even worse with the rollar coaster of an investigation
I think that the whole Dr. Phil thing is disgusting and very disrespectful towards Natalie. Making false claims towards a missing person (while not there to defend themselves) is just wrong, especially in an episode where her mother is supposedly being interviewed.
Amen!! I’m 100% okay with never watching Dr. Phil again after that!
Yeah I never liked him. He is not respectful.
At this point Joran is going to be almost an elder when he's finally free, so he might as well tell the actual truth. Absolutely disgusting, at least he's locked up
Sadly he just seems sick enough to actually enjoy keeping the secret for life. I’m realllly hoping he will confess and ACTUALLY be truthful about what happened.
@@bridgetmonahan356 true. It's so sad :/
@@bridgetmonahan356 he's a narcissistic psychopath. Using the disappearance of a young lady to extort money from the utterly distressed family is nothing short of it. He's one of the worst kinds of people, he truely only cares about himself.
@@bridgetmonahan356 I honestly think there is some truth in each of his "stories" about what happened. Whatever happened probably did happen at the beach and it is very likely they either tried to force themselves on her and things got out of hand or it was an overdose and they panicked.
@Bridget Monahan Hopefully he doesn't make it out alive. But lives long enough to give some closure to the Hollaway family. We all know he is guilty. No one confesses 10 times and lies if they are innocent. He has no remorse and deserves to rot in prison. He obviously has issues.
I have thought about her every so often since she went missing. I went to Aruba with my mom one month before Natalee disappeared. We stayed at the same hotel she did. And we even saw Deepak working at the internet Cafe. The creepiest experience we had there was when we went to the movies, it was just the 2 of us and we got locked in the theater. I've never been back.
Like, in the actual theater room? Or the building? Why did they lock u in?
That poor mom..u never know what u will say or do if your baby comes up missing..I would be losing my mind.
It’s true, everyone in true crime is always labeled as “they lit up the room”.
I've only heard one case not say that and I've been watching true crime for like 20yrs, like since I was 9 or 10! It was a long time ago but they were just like "they had some struggles and were going through stuff but they were trying to turn their lives around" every single other case is always "their smile lit the whole room"
People would NOT say that about me
I’ve always felt like people express themselves this way about people that are no longer here. Maybe the fact that they’re gone makes the memories of them that much more beautiful. Sort of “you don’t know what you have till it’s gone”.
I heard people saying that if you have the “Dateline face” you better watch out 😫
If anything ever happens to me they better say "She was lazy and just wanted to sleep all of the time."
This happened the same year that my graduating class went to Cancun, Mexico with USA Student Travels. One of the options for our trip was the trip she went on. Aruba for 4 nights 5 days, or Cancun for 7 nights, 8 days. She disappeared at the same time we were in Mexico and I remember all of the people that went with us got phone calls from their parents, telling us to make sure we stuck together and kept an eye on each other because they were still searching for sweet Natalie. I remember praying so hard for her and her family. I’ll never forget that! ❤️❤️
Was she ever found? Just out of curiosity
@@pariscampbell5947 she has never been found. 😭
@@vickyw9590 that’s really unsettling 😕
Same, I was in Mexico with USA Student travels and it was all over the news when we got back.
That's actually terrifying to think it could have been any one of your class. Glad you were all ok.
I saw one of the comments say that Natalie was probably trafficked, when someone's disappearance leaves no trace, this is unfortunately the only answer possible.. Natalie won't come back from that, it's impossible 😐
I agree. This also wasn't a spur of the moment opportunity. I believe it was all planned, and she was just the victim of choosing. It would have been any girl that night. Joran was making money. Whose to say he hadn't done this before? And the only reason he didn't do it again is because he happened to choose the girl whose family had money to fight back. In Peru, he likely had the same deal going on. Or he just killed that girl to steal her cash. Either way, he is clearly motivated by money.
I also think his dad knew. He was either in on it, or he asked questions when Joran surely exposed all the money he made from trafficking her. Maybe he was the actual mastermind. Used his son, knowing he could attract a girl easily.
I remember this vividly. My sister wasn't about to go on her senior trip, because of it. Everyone was terrified. I remember seeing her photo everywhereee.
The fact that this fool confessed and was seen last with her but never actually goes to jail for this ?!? Is mind boggling
Go watch the 3 deaths of marisol escobedo. Similar but more intense
I know it's frustrating but without her body to reveal the truth, there's no way the law can convict him. But at least there's some consolation at least he's in prison for the next 30 years in South America from what I heard the last time he got sick and he got beat up like an animal.
Yeah it’s unfortunately SO much harder to sentence someone without a body because it has to be proven beyond reasonable doubt he did it and without a body that’s really hard
I was 18 when this all happened and had just gotten back from a cruise in the Bahamas with my high school choir. On the ship, I remember that my roommates and I had agreed to never go anywhere alone just to be on the safe side. When Natalie disappeared, I think it freaked all of us out.
My whole life my mom has told me to never go anywhere alone, because of situations like this. It’s so so sad

This was 2005 and she was from a very wealthy town in alabama. Her and her friends were not thinking something like this would happen. Joran killed a girl in Peru. He definitely killed Natalee that night.
I’m from Australia and this is the first time I’ve ever heard about this case. Omgosh what an upsetting case. I wholeheartedly wish for her family to find closure somehow. I - I am feeling so empty right now 😢
Ryan from Buzzfeed Unsolved: There isn't some sort of "true crime extended universe" where all these different stories are somehow related
Bailey: So Natalee's mom started dating Jonbenet Ramsay's father
Ugh, I was waiting SO PATIENTLY for her to bring up their relationship. Lol
