Blob eye is the best
Hawk eye is overrated because of baby driver
Can you guys do a video on wheel and tire terminology?
I know what certain numbers mean with respect to hp and displacement.
However, I have literally no idea what you guys are talking about when you throw around the numbers in wheels and tires. Can you make a video simplifying this?
When I lived in Australia I had a 1997 WRX STi 22B Sportswagon. It had all the style and power of a sedan but had the sleeper value of being a wagon. Still the best WRX STi that they ever made.
@@djrattis They never made a 22B wagon. It was probably a GF8 (Wagon) STi, but still a cool car.
Blobeye imo
Customer ratings are the 06-07 STI. But cmon, the 04 STI is just timeless

Yes this. My favorite STi is my recently blown and replaced 2013 non STi Impreza WRX lmfao
I just bought a 2021 STI after wanting one since I was a kid
Damn, that's amazi
My son returned from overseas, saved all his money for 10yrs. I bought him a 2019 STI 1 of 1 series gray special order in WRB. Shinjin tuned with about $15k in the nornal goodies. He absolutely loves his car and he gets to drive exotics daily with no signs he's gonna ever let it go.
You've wanted a 2021 STI since being a kid?
@@WesKaine zero common sense I guess ? He wanted a STI since he was a kid so he bought a new one. You already knew that I'm guessing and you're just trolling?
2021 aren't even out yet... must be a 2020
I see STI, I click.
As a blob eye owner, I watched this video waiting for the moment you spoke the truth and confirmed it was the best gen of all time
As an 05 sti owner I approve this message
Let's just say the GD chassis STi was the best. Whether it's a hawk or a blob, they are both awesome.
Japan really played us by not giving us the ej207, truly a beast
Or the bugeye
gc cahassis by far
I have a 2009 STI with an ej207 swap for saleđ
You can always do a swap. Plenty of brand new EJ 207 engines on sale in many different configuration. You can import from UK or Australia. They are quite common over there. The only thing am not sure is the JDM 8k gauge cluster.
@@MegaBrenzy I'm using the JDM 8k cluster with my USDM blob wrx without an issue. Just don't try to rev it to 8k lol. I didn't try it, but a 207 is going in right now :)
The gc8 is the best one
Classic impreza is a class of it's own. New age ones can't match the raw feeling of it.
Hell yeah that subaru is a one of a kind a different breed no other scooby can top it off hands down!! đ„đŻ
can still get a gm6 in the usa lol
Totally agree with you. Before the limited edition 22B came out, there was the two door Impreza WRX STi Type R, and it's sedan sibling, the Type RA. These two were JDM cars, although there were some exported in limited numbers to other countries in the region.
Where all my bugeye boys at?

U mean the blobeye.
U mean the blobeye?
Yes 04-05 are blobeyes
I agree, not just because I actually own a 2003 WRX STI, but because you're actually right.. Doug Demuro said like "it feels raw, it feels fun, it feels fast".. and it's so true.. It is such a joy to own one, I will take good care of mine.

Factory wise, any of the S-Lines: S201, S202, S203, S204, S206, S207, S208, & S209. Tuner wise, the Tommy Kairas or Prodrive specials.
Don't forget about the Type-R's, Type-RA's and Spec-C's
@@SzymkowiAK47 For rally, you could make the case for the Type RAs & the Type RA Spec C (which they were essentially road versions of the actual WRC cars). I was just thinking of Subarus for the street, which the S-Lines were made to conquer compared to all the other lines & trims. Would love to see the Type R return as the coupe STi it was back in the day.
@@xoulmannn me too

Donât forget about the brighton coupes
@@thenon-vapingsubie Those weren't STis tho, let alone WRXs. They were base model coupes, even under the RS, which were bbelow the WRXs themselves in performance. It's a fun 1st car tho.
Not an STI, but the 2.5rs coupes from 98-01 are amazing
They are amazing when they are EJ207 swapped

When the fourth gen came out, I was hard pressed on getting it. Then when the 2018 face lift came out, I was more pressed to buy one. But 50k (Canadian) is a lot of money, but it makes sense bc thatâs for a fully loaded STI. Then, I started looking at used ones, and the third gen hatch caught my eye. Now, Iâm looking at 2011+ hatches bc imo, theyâre the best looking STI Subaru has ever made

As a 13' hatch owner, I gotta say Hawkeyes are my fav, 22Bs are dope too

rrrrriiiigggghhhhtttt
I have owned a first generation 2.2L, second generation STi, and third generation STi. I only still own one of them... Blob eye baby. All day! Nothing compares to the enjoyment I've gotten out of my GDB impreza. I love it so much, I bought a 05 9-2X Aero as a work car just so I can drive a GD chassis every day. IMO the GD chassis is one of the best chassis ever made! I have done everything in a GD chassis from smoke a Z06 corvette in the quarter mile to pull a 3/4 ton pickup out of a snowbank.. oh and drive my daughter home from the hospital when she was born and take the whole family on vacation or get groceries... The GD impreza truly DOES IT ALL!!
love my Hawkeye I just recently picked up such a fun vehicle!
my bro got the blobeye and i liked it alot but when i saw the hawkeye come out it was love at first sight and thats what I drive today !!
Just wanna clear something up as an STI owner before comments get carried away. Headgaskets dont blow up on these cars, rods do. Whether it's from lugging the engine, poor maintenance, or pushing power, the rods and ringlands go boom. It sucks, but that's why there are aftermarket solutions like Air Oil Separators, cylinder 4 cooling mods, or just not driving like a madman (which im not saying you cant but). If you're looking to make power don't lug the engine and give her tons of love. Don't crank boost either. Keep it at below 400hp and you should be good without forging rods, getting a shortblock etc. This is all just what I've come to understand
Have had a Rex and STI and can confirm with the above statement. these are budget rally cars. Wanna go fast in a straight line with crazy power? just get a mustang.. Straight lines aren't what make these cars good.
Edit: Haven't blow a gasket or thrown a rod on either vehicle. STI (~50K Miles) Rex(~115K Miles before sold.)
@@GoHardization my STI is at 83k and strong! Only pushing 337whp as well
Can also confirm, that's 400 crank, not 400 whp also, those running 85@380~ whp @ 21-23 lbs stock with supporting mods and no internal are playing with fire imo, 85 is insurance but a lick of bad e could bend a rod at that level, plan out a good 8-12k for a built motor, heads, and turbo before you go big on stock and walk home.
My dumbass blew up my OBS by not putting oil in it and driving in up a UTV trail btw bois don't do that it's mad bad for your bumpers ask me how I know
@@itsyaboimat2393 lmao this guy. Live and learn eh? Haha
It's purely style but the Bugeye is my fave by far.
I never really noticed Subaru until around 2005. Just cruising around one day I heard an unusual exhaust note it turned out to be a blobeye Aspen White STi. That was all it took. I've owned 2 Subarus since then, with a third coming soon.
I have a 2019 STi and it's a joy to drive.
The best one is the one that has an "STi" badge on it
Yeah pissed the guy I bought it from debadged my STi.
I've always loved the Hawkeye the most hence why I own one.
i have a plasma blue pearl 2013 wrx and i love the widebody third gen , i feel like i never see them though . 2007 hawkeye STI will always be a strong contender for my fav but im so happy to have my third gen.
People love the Hawkeye!
Warms my heart every time I get in mine.
Thank me for keeping your dream alive. Thank me for my service. Now.
Hawkeye gets so much love its insane. Every time I go to my local Subie meets dudes with 15+'s constantly complement my Hawkeye WRX and tell me how much they want it. I honestly find it hilarious since I only bought a GD chassis cause they're more affordable. Id never trade it for a new one though this gen is so unique
I own a Hawkeye STi & hope to add a Bug & Blob to the collection in the next few years. The best model of all is the 2005 Blobeye with DCCD. Forged engine internals make this model more reliable than the Hawkeye/Stinkeye & Raptor (latest model) If you want an older model, grab one now as they're only becoming more sought after, especially cars with low mileage/kilometers on the odometer.
My first time in a blob eye sti today. Have to say, one of the best moments of my life. But my heart will always be with the gc8 (the first Subaru I was ever in)
Just a Type RA owner checking in. I have driven each gen STI we have received in the states. I am that weirdo that loves the bugeye front end coupled with a prodrive front bumper and if I had the space in my garage i would swap the JDM wider bugeye front onto a 06-07 hawkeye and do a WRC tribute build for fun. But for now I will stick to the OEM+ theme for my Type RA.
I had a buddy in high school that had a bug-eye STI so I'm a bit partial to those, but also really like the hawk-eye's.
For me I always love from 2004 to 2007 STI
I bought a brand new Sti in 2017, Iâd have taken the blob eye IF I felt itâs engine wouldnât blow while I owned it, I bought new because I wanted a car that wasnât thrashed and beat to a pulp. I do love the styling of the blob eye and always will
Thanks for another dope video
Personally I like all subaru wrx's/sti's its the community subaru bring thats makes these companions worth it.
Real legends keep them old ones running
Every video like this always skips the blob eye, thanks for not :D. It is defs my favorite and I owned a base model one for a while and have just upgraded to a 2021 sti
My favorite is the gc8 sti
As a GF8 WRX owner, I still donât think you can beat the OG ones. Shame the US didnât get them in the full send mode. đ€
When you guys mention how the cars look when coming out of the factory, do you think you can show some stock cars and not heavly modified ones?? I love the videos btw.
The blobeye is my favourite.
2008-2014 wrx sti hatchback. May be a little biased cuz I have a 2011 wrx hatchđ€
The STi widebody hatchbacks are one sexy beast.
I've always loved the meaneye, bugeye, and blobeye but the meaneye is definitely my favorite and I would fs own one.
In my opinion itâs the 7-14 stis they just have a sweet spot in my heart sure there not the most loved but they can and will really grow on you
This makes me miss my '13 Subie Hatchback :'( .. But yeah I could vouch for blobeye/hawkeye being the best.. Good vid, need more like these, like maybe the Z's next! :D
Love me a bug & blob eye but i will always want a 2013/14 sti hatchback
I personally like the Hawkeye Wrx STI or even the 2.5 I RS base model where you could slap some sti mods to make it just as fast, sometimes the Bugeye Wrx STI, and of course the 22B STI or the 2.5 Rs version. Mind you it's all my opinion and I just like some Japanese cars in general.
Iâve always loved the blob eyes â€ïž
I honestly want a hatchback sti because I wanna go camping in it.
My 2014 sti hatch is the best match for me. Every year they donât make another hatch, mine goes up in value canât complain!!!
Definitely the Blob-eye is the OG. I had one but sold it and kick myself everyday for it
I have a 2020 STI so Iâm biased but I love the Hawkeye and the jdm bugeye STI
2007 WRX STi Spec C Type RA-R
Comes with equal length headers and a slightly bigger turbo from the factory, lightest model, stiffened suspension, bigger brakes and incredible white and yellow colour options.
This model you mention is the king (alongside the 22b) but I think only 600 were produced for Japan.
I don't have an sti but I have a 2019 wrx. Love it. Couldn't come to terms with the MPG and the fact I planned to daily my car so I had to go with the wrx lol.
Same here and I'm glad now looking at the price of gas . I paid 5.79 a gallon 2 days ago for premium. Gas Mileage is terrible in the sti
@@jesusisking4065 I still have my wrx but it's about 4.69 a gallon for premium currently where I live. Definitely unpleasant filling the car up lol.
I remember I was about to buy a 2019 and the day I went in to sign I saw a 14 hatchback the last year they made a wrx hatch so I told the guy I wanted that one he wasnât happy but sure as hell was.
I believe you came to the correct conclusion. Not to say other Stis aren't great. If the GD had the rear suspension of the newer models it would be my perfect car.
My favorites are mean eye, bugeye, and blobeye, and my guess is that blobeye will win just because itâs so iconic
A great video. đI agree. Stay safe brother.
The 2005 sti is my personal favorite of the bunch
Loved the video, proud owner of a 05 gd sti owner for 11 years and agree ârawâ sti does not having competition. Come back evolution aka evo.
2014 STI Hatch.
Still remember the day I pick up my 13â hatch, was aiming for a Hawkeye sti at the beginning, but that car got picked up by a guy with a bag of cash right at the same day I see the car, so got a hatch instead. At the beginning I donât really like it as much as GD one( cuz it looks not as cool as GD imo), but with 5 months ownership till now, have to say I would never sell this bad boy, just such a good old-fashioned turbo car to drive
The evo
Yuh
I have a 207 sti bug, its a great winter beater
Still could have put a pick or video of the GC chassis, gave it a good mention since it's the original one
I've got a 2019 STI. Imo the minor changes makes it a good car.
I love my 21 Sti the only thing i wish it had was pumped out guards like my 2012 wrx.
My personal opinion all of gd chassis is the "best STIs", but va chassis has brought a whole new level to family sedan sports car
tip if you want a 06 or 07 wrx wagon look up saab 92x aero (turbo model) rebadged wrx wagon i have one just like the wagon
I think the new generation look the best .. not the 2022 wrx but previous wrx and sti gens .that's what I bought .I love it
They're one of my favorite styles too! Lets see what they do with these. -Edgar
My satin pearl white 07 Hawkeye STI is in dry storage, not many in her colour!
Although not covered, I would take a GC8 Coupe!!
Agree... 04-07 is the best, and probably a very wise car to invest in as a garage queen. But the 06 is the king of the 04-07, IMO. The 06 STi Impreza (there were no WRX STi badged cars in 06, only STi Impreza was badged on the trunk and window stickers this year for some reason dropping the WRX part, who know why?) just had nicer tail lights then the 07. As I don't like the chrome Altezza look the STi and WRX models both came with in 07. The 06 STI had the same tail lights, design wise over all, but the inside was a gun metal dark grey instead of chrome. The 06 WRX had the chrome lights out back also like the 07s did, so I assume only the STi got these that year. The blob eye 04-05, was also almost as good looking to me. (I love the 02-03 STi looks, lucky guys in Japan) I guess it is a personal preference type deal as to which you like. But it is obvious that after 07 Subaru started cutting costs to keep the MSRP low, the cars were still sweet but are missing something that feels like a big elephant in the room that you just can't find. (Do they even still have BBS wheels, Brembo brakes, and MOMO interiors factory standard?) They turned into road cars, not rally cars like they should be. Then you drive a GC/GD STI and you know really quick what it is. Just overall feel and handling of the old lighter car is easily apparent. I really hope the all new 2022 STI lives up to the hype. With the new 2.4 FA STI block, That supposedly has forged rods and pistons installed factory, it should be a great 400 hp area blast. Finally allowing the STI to hit 60 mph in under 4.8 like the old 04-07 used to be capable of.
i would say the first gen subies like 23gc and 22b
I own a 2003 bugeye and it's been the best car I've ever owned.

Best subaru STI will always hackeye 2.5 turbo. Look amazing and have good engi :D
Have to agree Hawkeye
Gc8 is my favourite but I wanna own the hatchback
While I agree the Hawkeye is timeless. I still love my 12 Blurple hatchback
Eyyy, the subie car meet clip is from Subaru Club Philippines! Always love the Hawk, and the GD chassis is the ultimate one, Hawk followed by blob. Then the GC and the new one. Didn't particularly like the hatches though.
Bugeye is my favorite
They are all cool but the 04 Peter Stevens design kicks ass!
thank you
blobeye my fav but can't deny the 15+ are better in almost every way..
I find it funny they used a GTA pic for the importing and Forza for the year pics. As a proud owner of a Hawkeye(sadly a 2.5i but plan on sti swapping some stuff) I still think it's the best. Also as I've had the car, I've come to love the bugeye look with the amount of hate that it gets, but wouldn't change my choice.. You should do what the best generation of Evo is.
