Mudman G 9300: TEN YEAR Damage Report - Exactly Why I Love G-Shock

  • This is precisely why I love G-Shock...
    I have owned this G-Shock ‘Master of G’ G9300 Mudman for ten years. It is a wonderfully loyal companion that has seen me through thick and thin. Adventures, holidays, sun, sea, mud, sand. It has never let me down. Zero components replaced, zero trips to the repair shop needed, zero issues with the functions. This is exactly why I love G Shock.
    This is a Tough Solar watch with double sensor (compass and temperature) and therefore it has two of my favourite features.
    I take you through an in-depth damage report photo essay where we look at every inch of the watch and see how it has weathered the ‘storm’ of the past ten years. Considering the watch is so versatile tough and can be bought on Amazon for approximately 160 USD, I feel this is one of the best value for money watches on Earth.
    People sometimes ask ‘what is so good about G-Shock?’, ‘why are G-Shock so expensive’, ‘do G-Shocks last long’, ‘are g-shock the best?’, or ‘why do people love G-Shock?’. This video should go a long way to answer those questions, although I strongly believe G-Shocks are not actually expensive when you consider the functionality, innovation and durability they deliver compared to many ‘top-end’ watches.
    Watch and enjoy, see if I can convince you...I hope you find this useful and insightful.

    I have the same watch. I loved it so much I bought it twice. Bought mine in December 2014. The strap broke and needed replacement but it fell out of my pocket and lost it forever in early 2017. Bought another one in October 2017. The strap has a lifespan of roughly 2 years. Had the strap replaced in 2019. My current strap has not yet broken for I was not able to use it daily when I started working from home due to the pandemic. The battery got drained in 2021 due to lack of sunlight exposure. I placed my watch in front of my window to charge it and it was working again. The G9300 is a great watch. Shoutout from the Philippines!

    Interesting presentation. You could say that your watch still looks great after 10 years. Congratulations. Exactly eight years ago I bought the G-9000 Mudman model. Over the years, I have worn it during many activities, including extreme ones such as rock climbing, diving and logging. The watch still works great and remains my main outdoor watch (although I also have the g-shock GBA-900 and the sports Casio AE-1000W). I was also thinking about the GW-9300 and, to be honest, I might be tempted to buy it again, because it has excellent reviews and is a solar watch, which is important when you think about proper tightness.

      u@@stormrider1119 Well...I doubt it since the "N.W.O." U.N. plan seems to be all about taking away everyone's ability to travel, earn, or feed themselves without their pathetic 'stimulus' crumbs. Biden the senile 'Wizard' recently even literally said that American highways are ALSO now "Racist" and need to be eliminated(??!!) I was a huge Subaru AWD boxer engine fanboy but ended up with a 2012 Ford Fusion since it supposedly was more reliable than a Subaru Legacy back then. I've only recently become aware of Toyota's super stellar quality control and reliability history so that is why I compared the Mudman to the Made in Japan 4Runner. Just be CAREFUL with those Japanese Off the Boat cars though 'cause the dealer left ALL of my tires INFLATED TO 60 PSI(?!!) in JUNE, that could have blown out since the Danger Zone is listed as 40 PSI on the tires which must be VERY GOOD since I drove them at 60 PSI for 2 MONTHS that way. I'm pretty sure that was done by the Factory to prevent tire deformation during the long shipping trip across the Pacific, I guess? I believe that all of the Toyota Japan Factory workers are allowed to pull a special 'stop the production line' lever if they should spot a problem or even have an idea to improve quality control! Imagine that! This broker here on YT called "Your Car Angel" goes DEEP into why Toyota makes the finest reliable vehicles = continuous dedication to Quality improvement. Interesting topic for sure, like G Shocks.

    A few years ago, I was super close to purchasing a MudMan. I was dissuaded because a few years previously I'd picked up a GMW5610 - and as this was my daily beater, during shifts - I couldn't justify purchasing a MudMan, just for the twin sensor - of which thermo, was all I was interested in. I think it's a great watch and sometimes I still regret not picking it up at a stellar price of around £100. It's amazing how well yours had held up.

    • @stormrider1119
      @stormrider1119  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes it's pretty remarkable. I bet your GMW 5610 has lasted well too though. Those classic squares just go on and on, plus they have the Multi Band 6, Tough Solar and Atomic Time Keeping like the Mudman so you aren't missing too much. I guess the strap on the Mudman is just more robust and geared to physical activity, more so than the GMW strap. The square can be worn in more formal situations though in my opinion, so pros and cons. Cheers!

      @@stormrider1119 I think that my watch points the correct north and south, only the west is a little bit inaccurate. Probably is a problem of deviation (I have to test the compass in different place).

    Last year, I buy G9000 and it had the most hardest button from any other G Shock. My question is, G9300 button is also hard , need bit more effort to use same with G9000 ?

    • @stormrider1119
      @stormrider1119  Před 2 lety +1

      It's definitely harder than other G-Shocks I own, but that's because of the extra protection from mud and sand entering the buttons etc. So for me it's a factor I accept. I'm not sure how it compares to the G9000 but may be similar. Still one of my favorite watches of all time. Hope that helps!

    I used FW91 for 13 years, as long as its battery lasted. Almost every day usage, making shower with the watch at wrist. Only 3atm water resist. So it is not that hard. But yours looks very bad, maybe because rubber is softer than resin. Resin becomes glossy in time.
