What a day!! I had no idea that earning an NHRA Street Legal License, making 9 second passes in the Demon 170, and spending a day at Radford Racing School with Don Prudhomme should be on my bucket list of coolness, but talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity! It's always a good time at Radford Racing School, but this was one of the coolest days where Don and I had the chance to learn together and to just sit and share stories and it is an opportunity I am so thankful to have had. Don is one of the nicest people and this was such a good day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Having Don Prudholm tell you that your a good driver is an honor in itself that man is a hall of famer and one of the best there ever was.
Don is the old dog learning new tricks. He looks great! What an honor to do that with him.
Pretty cool having Don sign your paperwork. I'm 75 and remember him in his glory days.
The snake has been down the strip so many times it is mind blowing.
He comes out of a time that barely had starting lights, no glue on the strip,
No timing except a stop watch, no electronics on the car.
When he started the blowers came off a truck, the injection was had made
With only a pressure valve to regulate fuel.
Just to the floor and hang on.
Racing with a legend of a drag racing history my mind would have been blown from the beginning! My life would be complete!
To have Don Prudhomme sign your license is icing on the cake. Super cool!

I sat next to Don and right behind Mike Dunn and Roland “The Hawaiian” Leong at a CHRR event about 12-15 years ago. Was cool just listening to them interacting with each other. Leong never stopped talking the entire time.
What an honor to spend time with the legend Don "The Snake" Prudhomme ! Not just a legend but a great guy too ! ! ! What an honor to have him sign your Street Car License but to sign his as well, WOW. I met him at Houston Raceway Park for the Spring Nationals when the engine blew up on a run and went to his pit and asked if they needed any help to put a fresh bullet in his car, the guy I asked pointed to Don and Don walked over to me and asked me to pill the heads and help put the new bullet in which I did. After they fired the car up and shut it down Don brought me into the trailer and took down my name and address then shook my hand thanking me for my help. For five years after that I received four tickets with pit passes to the Spring Nationals Drag Races with a note saying thanks for your help. What a nice guy and very down to earth too !

Great to see the younger racers doing stuff with the older racers!! I would drag my children to Baytown back when Don was still racing, he was a Great guy in the pits,signing hats and visiting with fans.

Alex, the last time I saw Don, he was racing Shirley "Cha Cha" Muldoney in Funny Car. His time that night was runner up.

Growing up Don The Snake was one of my biggest hero's he was the man in the 70s i had the revell model cars his and the mongoose.
Wow!! What an honor to have ol' Don sign your license! ..and seeing him working into the new technology is pretty cool as well... "I'm not gonna remember any of this sh*t!!"🤣 But he did, and did it well!!! I remember him in the 1970's running the Top Fuel circuit. He's definitely the GOAT, alongside Don Garlits!😄👍👍👍
Don is a class act, when I was a teenager I approached him in the pits at OCIR and he took the time to show me around his car and inside his trailer showing me all the spare pistons, heads, and blocks that was needed to compete for a weekend of pro drag racing. I always will remember and respect him for taking time out of his busy day for a young fan

Don meant to say more like 60 Years ago or more regarding his TF License, but he's definitely being modest about earning it way back when... those Drivers were BRAVE.
He was telling us he was racing before NHRA was giving licenses, so that's what I assume he was refereeing too. Nonetheless, you're correct! They were brave for sure!

Used to always watch Don "the snake" and Tom "the mongoose" when i was a kid. Even drew his car from scratch and colored it for a class project.

Imagine one weekend your hanging out with John and Britney Force then Don Purdome, you're living a great life, and i forgot getting Engaged too a great Guy, Nick is the best.
I'm happy to see this happening and I hope Tracks start asking for this License or Regular NHRA License, just because you can afford the Car doesn't mean you can drive it safely.
When Don spoke about racing at the track it reminded me of what they would say at the end of the evening at Lions Drag Strip (aka. The Beach), "Remember Ladies and Gentlemen Drive on the Street and Race at Lions".
Don is so used to a pro tree, I bet he can still cut one hell of a light for being retired from racing for so many years. God he's a real legend. Always was my favorite driver. Still have his silver snake on my back window of my street racing car. No one has ever figured out what it stands for. It's Don's Logo in support of him. Never lost a race since I put it there. Thanks Don for the good luck you have given me.
Having my license signed by Don Prudhomme would make it an instant personal treasure.

You know why they call him the snake? I knew him in florida once, and then, i had a custom van at the autorama Detriot, so obviously i was checking out his drag car, i touched the wheel with my finger, he comes jumping out at me from the back, and scares the hell out of me, he useto be a little taller, and i ran away. But it was always injoyable to watch him and the Mongoose run at the strip. To bad he forgot who i was or am. That keept the Mustang alive, more than a couple of times.😊

1978 79 stationed at El Toro Marine base 4 miles from Orange County raceway. I watched the many contests between Don Prudhummel Snake and the Mongoose. A heated competition in those days.

I would love to meet Don again! Last time I met him he had just started driving for Army. My dad was an Army recruiter, I think we met him at Suffix Dragway , Va. I got to sit in his car when they did the warmup after getting the car set up. I got to hit the throttle quickly lol. Scared me bad I tried scrambling out of that car in a hurry lol. I remember that day so clearly lol. Ty Don for giving me a memory that feels fresh even after all these years!

Yeah like when she got to throttle wack John Forces funny car a week or so ago . She has worked hard and put in a lot of hrs and years to get to where she’s at . It’s all bonus now . Who knows in time she might be racing for JOHN FORCE RACING . 😎
