Columbia threatens to expel students who took over building

- Columbia University said students who occupied Hamilton Hall face expulsion. More than half a century ago, the same building was occupied by protesters who opposed the Vietnam War. Protesters continued their demonstrations at other colleges, including Tulane and the University of Texas at Austin. More than 1,200 people have been arrested nationwide. NBC News' Erin McLaughlin reports.

Ex. When protest broke out to divest from Africa in favor of Nelson Mandela in the 80s this same thing happened. And they through up a banner calling it Mandela Hall.
You can not try to silence protestors just because you don't agree with their method of execution.

1985 protest of the divestment of South Africa in this very same university. Instead of today's "Hind's Hall" it was "Mandela Hall"

We see every generation engage in this behavior. It’s always ugly, stupid, and rarely accomplishes anything positive. This is why the 30-50 age group needs to be running things. Experienced enough not to lose their minds like college students, and progressive enough to support positive changes.
The only 30-50 year olds who should be running things are those who had enough caring and passion to go out into streets and protest something they wanted to change when they were 20-30 years old.

I couldn't imagine expecting to NOT be expelled from a college after forcefully taking over one of its buildings. Shouldn't they be charged with insurrection for taking over government buildings? Perhaps they should be forced into solitary confinement for years while they await a trial. Maybe they should go after any grandmas that also happened to protest or bring any flags into the building or even on the school grounds.
