Russia wasn’t involved in colonizing Africa and wasn’t involved in slave trade ,no wonder they are open and welcoming to blacks . Most western countries at one time or the other viewed black people as inferior.
The only thing Russia did was help Africa fight against colonization . That’s why Africa will never turn against Russia , never been to Russia but I understand why their attitudes to blacks are different. We in Africa love Russia and will support Russia always
I am half Russian half African, was born in Russia and live in Chelyabinsk since I was 1 year old(south ural). I can say that I feel pretty safe here the biggest problem for me is that people are staring at me a lot but I can understand why)))
I finish school and university here in Chelyabinsk and all of my classmates and teachers was kind and nice to me, they never pointed out my skin color. Probably it really depends on how you act not what your skin color is)

I am from Zimbabwe and came to study in Russia. This country gave me a diploma, amazing friends, many memories. Russia is incredibly welcoming and very beautiful. And this is not the only country where I have been. The people here are the most sincere. I still live here and in the 6 years I have been here I have never once come face to face with racism, either from the older generation or from the younger generation.

As a black Russian(yes, I'm half Russian and Kenyan) I love my country. The people here don't care about your race. It's much safer here, then in Kenya. It's a country, that actually connects people. Yes, we do joke around with some mean jokes, that I'm a blackie and stuff like that. But the people are very nice actually

@@freedommits a sad fact but kenya is very unsafe compared to Russia.. I lived in Russia for 7 straight years while in school and I didn't have any incidents. The next year while in Kenya I lost 2 phones to street thieves and got mugged at gun point when walking to my gate. I had to move to the countryside to enjoy peace of mind. Kenya right now is just a big piece of***, thanks to that guy on the top messing the economy. Crime rate is high up.

I'm black and african. I live in a rather small russian city, my friends and I were actually the first black people there lol. What has been my greatest shock? Everything I was told about russia before I came here was a lie, my family and friends were always worried about me because of the things they read in the media. I tell them to this day, I feel safer here than I ever felt anywhere else. Its been 8 years and I can only say I've had only one racist moment, and when it happened, a russian woman defended me and almost beat up the person lol. Of course in the beginning I drew a lot of attention, but it was out of curiosity. I look different, it's a fact. Here once you can even just say one word in russian, like привет, they will be happy and will call you a real russian just to encourage you. I have made a lot of family, my classmates have invited me to their homes, I've never spent summer alone. That's what my mom was most worried about. I have more grandmas here than anyone, I get treated well, everyone makes sure I never feel left out, in short, I've blended in well. I'm just sad I will be leaving soon.

They treat us Gypsies bad because we never accepted to incorporate their societies having bad reputation but it's far away of racism of Western ppls and US. Blacks are treated really like the gods that they feel uncomfortable. Big problem are migrants from Afghanistan, Syria and other countries of Middle east which are so violent and problematic that they love us Gypsies more than these savages who rape, steal, make problems. I feel very safe in Slavic countries. Point.

I'm a dark skinned Asian woman. I travelled to several Russian cities on my own. I don't speak Russian and I took a long time to count the money for things in shops and markets. Not one person ever looked at me funny or made an impatient noise or face at me. People were very patient and kind with me. It was a great trip. The cities I visited were so clean and beautiful and there was so much emphasis on making culture accessible to ordinary people.

Russians don't live with tens of millions of black people who blame them for blacks' problems despite the fact blacks have a much higher standard of living in white countries than in black countries. Anti-racist is a codeword for anti-white.
Guys usually we treat people not according to their appearance or skin color, but by their actions. If you are aggresive, you will get same responce. But if you will ask for a help, you will get plenty of help here. If you are kind to us, we are will be super kind to you.
That is our credo, most of the people here live by it.

As far as there are not so many black in Russia, they live peacefully and don't cause any problems. But the main problem is immigrants from central asia. There are millions of them, especially illegal ones.
Listening to this makes me wonder the damage the mainstream media has done to our psyche. I have spent most of my life in the UK, I have been racially insulted in the streets for no reason, joined the army and suffered untold discrimination.

I felt very safe in city such as Svobodny, Blagoveshchensk, & Khabarovsk that i visited and stayed. I lived in a small town of Svobodny with a Russian friend/ family and i felt very safe being an African American. I feel safer in Russia than i do in American being a black man because i am not being harassed , discriminated or threatened by anyone while in Russia than i am in the states sometimes. I respect the Russian people, laws and the police in the cities i stayed at and never had a problem being an American and Black.

As a German who was multiple times in Russia I can tell you there is a huge huge difference how cities are run in Russia and in the West. Normally in Germany you have the big cities where all the crime is, especially in downtown area and in the parks. In Russia you dont have that. You have no ghettos, no bad downtown streets and crime. You go to downtown in Russia and its full of families with children. Even at night its not empty, there is always some life on the streets. I felt much safer than in Hamburg, Germany.

as a russian, there aren't much "ghettos", just some dangerous areas, in which so called "gopniks" or "ofniks" can beat your ass. they're not like thugs, they're just dumb ass spoiled man-children, coming straight up from 90s (bad time in russia💀) and thinking they could slide as if they were in these times rn. just keep yourself strapped or atleast have pepper spray

@@eyskimo5222 geh mal in Moskau durch die Innenstadt und bei uns am Hbf, Steindamm und Mönckebergstrasse rum, bei uns sieht es aus wie in Kalkutta. Ein absolutes Drecksloch ist die Gegend da. In Moskau sind Familien mit Kindern unterwegs, bei uns sieht man nur noch Flüchtlinge. Ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht.
as a russian this makes me really happy to see. i moved to the UK when i was young and grew up with people seeing harmful stereotypes about russia and russians in the media. it’s really nice to see non-russians say nice things :) i hope that more people can see what russians are really like and stop listening to stereotypes and harmful media

I live in England: Normal people do not hate or have negative feelings about Russia/the Russians. My feeling is that they are respecting Russia/the Russians. When I told them that some of my ancestors were born/were from Siberia they did not look at me differently...

I am Black American. I have always heard very bad things about Russians. However, I recently pondered on past memories and here in the US, I have encountered many Russian people and all I can think is wow, they all were so sweet and nice. My high school science teacher, A very funny co-worker, Patients in the health system, Customers in retail shops, a friendly older man while sitting in a Park in nyc started random conversation with after a sneeze it went beyond god bless you. Funny when a agenda is setup against a group of people for no good reason. Sort of like just being Black and human. Over all I have encountered some really cool and nice Russian people ✌🏾
Yeah, such a weird thing. I feel the same when chatting with people from all over the world on Discord. Being a russian there feels similar to being black in countries that has problems with it.

И это прям удивительно для них. И мы относимся к этому как к абсолютно понятному , так и должно быть. I’m from Serbia and unfortunately, I have never been in Russia. I know for sure that in all the Slavic countries black people have never been treated any different than white people. We have never had slavery. While the West was exploiting black people, there was a law in my country (I think the Russia was no different) that every slave that crosses our borders immediately becomes a free man. It is a huge reality check to hear someone say that in Russia they don’t have to worry about someone with a gun shooting at a crowd. That is a very heart-wrenching reality that we face here in America. I’m so tired of America, I have wanted to live abroad my entire life ever since the first time I went to the Philippines. All of my life never have I ever wanted to stay here in America and die here like a dog.

На женщин в России нападают куда реже чем на мужчин.
Ну вообще это смотря где жить и во сколько выходить. Конечно, если вы будете жить в Москве и гулять по центру это одно. А если идти в час ночи, то во многих городах можно нарваться на бухих быков. У меня достаточно этого было. Кто-то плечом специально заденет, кто-то выкрикнет что-то оскорбительное или просто подойдет и начинает докапываться. Девушку избить вряд ли кто захочет, а парня/мужика запросто

Я один раз испугалась что вот сейчас... А эта пьянь заставила водки с ними выпить. О_О я была в таком шоке что прям из горда русской валюты глотнула. Они похихикали и отпустили. До сих пор не поняла что это было.

You can walk anywhere in the middle of the night and feel 100 percent safe. I have made lots of friends which i will remember forever.

I travelled to Russia many times and have met many black people - mostly students at university. The very first time I went to Moscow, from the airport to checking at hotel, it was almost midnight. Still I so much wanted to see the Red Square that I went out - I felt safe. I would NOT have gone out in my country at midnight. I was living in Saint Petersburg for almost half a year and traveled a bit around in Russia and can say, there were only 1 or 2 times in total, where I felt unsafe. And usually I am a bit paranoid when it comes to walking around in big cities at night. But never has anything bad happened here and I can say, that Russia feels much safer than my home country of Germany. I mean, just a few days ago there were some knife attacks in my small and rural town and somebody got killed. Sometimes you are not even safe in small countries in Germany, but big cities in Russia are super safe. In in some scatchier situations there was never a real thread. And even though I am very opposed to a lot of over watching and police control, Russia is the evidence, that things can be great

The Western media always have negativity to places like China, Russia, etc... to put fear in Westerners not to invest their money. маршруты обычно выбираю рандомно - сегодня в центре, в следующий раз где-нибудь на Селигерской, и дальше в сторону области, например.
город сейчас настолько безопасен, что можно в пределах МКАДА гулять в любое время суток без задней мысли.
и да, ничего не сравнится с тишиной и покоем ночного мегаполиса. так что полностью солидарен

I believe you guys I am from the Caribbean living in Canada I met Russians for the first time here its amazing how friendly and educated they are. and the woman and children are beautiful far from the picture the western world was showing us. In my building they are he only one who would open the door and salute the blacks tenants.

I'm a black man who studied and lived in the Scandinavia for over a decade. At a point, I was doing my MBA at a town that shares border with Russia. I was that close. I had several opportunities to visit Russia but due to the numerous things I've read and seen on the media, I let them slip. What actually discouraged me the most was that a Russian man attempted to attack me with a knife in Helsinki for no reason. That alone gave me a very bad picture of what being a black man in Russia would be, thus, corroborating everything I came across in the media. Seeing the views shared here is totally surprising to me and will positively affect the view I've held on to for years.

We here don't really care about your ethnicity as long as you abide by the law and don't cross ethical boundaries. I sometimes see black kids going to school near my uni with their huge backpacks in their red and blue uniforms and get fascinated by the fact that their parents have adapted to life here do much that they feel safe to send their kids to local schools. I can say Russia is number one because of cheap and high quality medicine, best banking system (very simple and easy to send and control your money through your phone), food delivery is best very fast, low apartment bills, low taxes. Fruits and vegetables are best in the world that's my favorite, if you get an apple it smells apple, if you get plum it smells plum, if you get apricot it smells incredible apricot and each fruit like that, I swear, not like in the US if you get apple it smells like stone it has no smell.

I'm Russian, I have never heard anyone from my circle speak badly about guys of a different skin color. The only thing this can cause is curiosity and interest. because many Russians have simply never seen people with different skin colors in real life (only in films, the Internet, etc.) Because many live in the far north, where in general there are few people.

I have the utmost respect for all the people in this video. They are very open-minded and courageous to take risks, to learn a completely different and very difficult language with different alphabet. They adapt to the culture, to the totally different weather conditions, and integrated well into a country far away. It takes a lot of work and a special kind of bravery to dedicate oneself to such big changes in life. Not many can do that. I also love the fact how they talk in such a positive and motivating manner about their new country. Very admirable role models.

Обидным для чернокожих считается слово нигер, которое на западе со временем стало означать низшая раса.

I am Russian and one day I was riding in a commuter train and a black guy, apparently a student, sat across from me. I was listening to music with headphones on, holding my phone in my hands and closing my eyes. When I opened my eyes, he gestured for me to hide the phone. I couldn't understand what he wanted to tell me, because in Russia I can't even imagine someone snatching my phone out of my hands on public transportation.
There were a lot of device snatching (mostly audio players but also pocket pc and even first Mobil phones) in metro in 90-s, that is both due to very high value of devices and overall lawlessness in these days.

Если раньше людям было порой есть нечего, то сейчас вопрос об этом не стоит, люди спокойно могут оставить куртку на стуле в кафе чтобы занять место, хотя раньше это было опасно, человек может спокойно реагировать на полицейских, которые его остановили (например в метро, чтобы посмотреть большую сумку), а раньше был страх, что подкинут вещества и тд. Я сама спокойно открывала вещи для проверки, моего мужа часто останавливали в метро и на улице около метро (он худой, высокий и носит шапку с капюшоном, поэтому иногда, когда не выспится и ходит с синяками под глазами, похож на наркомана, его могут остановить, один раз даже пробивали по базе данных, но потом спокойно отпускали и желали хорошего дня, не было никаких проблем, это только бдительность, но никак не желание навредить или что то подкинуть человеку)

I am Russian , I never had any preferences in friends based on religion or skin colour, we simply don't care about it, but we do care a lot if you are trustful, honest and humble person - that's what matters. Everyone with friendly and open heart will be treated as a part of the family!

As a german i have to say: i think russia is a really - really good country! Of course you can question which form of government is the best. Every nation does propaganda to their people.
But in my opinion russians are pretty people and really hospitable!! They are actually more like friends...
Much nations and people can take russia as an example. They dont have much of the western nations problems. Russias wild nature landscape is huge.

What I find remarkable about Russians is that if anyone had a right to hate Germans it would be Russians, yet they don't seem to hate Germans at all; it's almost as if Russians say to themselves 'well, Germans taught us some hard lessons in geopolitical militarism'. Contrast that with the Russophobia going on in much of the West right now or the self-hatred of Germans and Western Whites giving what is supposed to be their children's inherent lands to the rest of the world to take! I watched some other blogger and he asked some African guy about Russia. That guy said that he was studying in Moscow in the 90’s and had to leave because of skinheads… Well, I was a kid during the 90’s living in Moscow and it was not safe then to all the normal people, doesn’t matter if you were local or not, white or any other colour… bad times!

There are many Russians who have been killed by skinheads too. My father’s friend was stabbed to death (we are ethnic minority form Russia). The crime level was at the historical peak during the 90’s.
As a russian I can say that everywhere U can find many good people. My daughter goes to dancing class and her teacher is a black man. Hes cool man and kind. And im not afraid about my kids safety. Every kid love him and hes a great teacher.
Also one day I see a beautiful girl with black skin and in the second time I came to her and just say that shes so beautiful )) I dont know why I did this. But she was an angel ^_^

Honestly, I feel so proud for my country right now (of course I know that things are different for smaller cities, but still). It's so damn cool to hear that people feel safe here in Russia. And also that's so pleasant that those people don't receive any prejudiced treatment, Russians are so kind and welcoming these days, it absolutely melts my heart.

I live in small city and don't understand what difference you means. You know himself that In Russia no matter if its about big city or small city we judging people by their actions, not by their skin colour or religious, and in every period of our history, no matter if it was Russian Imperia or USSR or now was like that, that why we never have slvs, bc in our mind and mentally its impossible looks on people in that way, we always respect their traditions and culture + Russia is multinational and multiconfeccional country. The only difference with small cities is that people maybe will give you more attention, i mean they will looking at you more,))) but only by curiosity, bc they bever meet black person in their city be4, )) and as everywhere in Russia they will be kind with you. Ofc. as in every country you can meet bd people, but most of the people in Russia very kind and friendly. If you respect our country, our lws and our traditions and don't do something criminal, illegal you always welcome.

As a Russian I'm grateful to those who make such videos because it milds the public opinion about my country. I love my country and I appreciate all the countries in the world and people from here and there. But it makes me sad that in mass media, movies etc Russians are always portrayed as villains. I don't mind people making fun of the russian accent because different language speakers have different perception of everything. But I don't like generally when people judge by race, nationality...

hey, if you actually wanna try to go to Russia, just do it. The only expensive stuff in this travel will be ticket on airplane. If you really want it, you firstly need to try to go here as a traveller. You won't need too much money. The month-salary of an american call-center worker is enough to live in russia for may be 3 or 4 months :) Haha
You can easily get a job as an English teacher and getting a work permit is easy as well. There are lots of language schools that would love to have a native speaker.

У нас больше 190 национальностей , 7 основных религий и куча мелких , люди по цвету кожи живут любых расцветок , женщины занимают руководящие должности уже больше ста лет . У нас не делят людей по нации , цвету кожи и полу , у нас смотрят на воспитание , ум и что человек может и умеет , на всё остальное всем плевать . С учётом того что нас всех ещё при СССР учили любить всех людей в мире. Более того , мы уважаем и врагов с кем воюем и убиваем . Как пример Германия , все их ругают всю жизнь , а мы даже не потребовали с них компенсацию за ущерб. Мы реагируем по факту происходящего , после произошедшего зла не помним. Сейчас очень злы на Европу и Америку за ложь и развязывание войны , за грабёж нашей страны. Если начнётся война в Европе , мы как во вторую мировую не будет беречь европейские города с их культурным наследием ценой сотней тысяч своих жизней , мы всех и вся вввыжжем до основания и уничтожим . Нам надоело что Европа на нас всегда нападает , а мы когда воюем с ней гробим своих солдат ради сохранения её городов , архитектуры и культурного наследия не подвергая ковровым бомбардировкам. За последние века мы поняли , европейцы нашу доброту не ценят ! И если они на нас в очередной раз прыгнут , им всем хана , пощады не будет .
