I'll write it in English for people to understand. The girl with the hijab, I think she is from Cameroon, she said Russian men don't date her because they don't like her. That's not true, it's just because Russians think she is a devote Muslim. In Russia men don't usually date Muslim girls, because of the fact that there can be issues due to religious and family differences. If she dresses up in a different way, that won't "scream" Muslim, then I'm sure her luck will change 😉

this is exactly it, this happens on the west also, speaking from experience, i've seen many gorgeous muslim women that I would love to date, but I know that cultural and religious differences would make that impossible unless i convert to islam which I wouldnt want since im not religious

I have been living with a Russian man since 2012 before we got married in 2015 , and we had a beautiful daughter in that same 2015. One thing I love about Russia men is this, when they are with you, they don't look outside.

Very true. In fact, there's very little left in black American communities in regards to culture and heritage. Very few black people hold on to it and act respectful toward themselves and others. Africans are completely different from them.

I’m ethnic Russian, the father of the Russian poetry was part-Black, many Russian aristocrats were mixed, or had Asian origins. The Russian ethnicity is 100% about the identity, the language, the culture. We were never obsessed with the « blood » or « color » like some of our neighbors.

Yup, Alexander Pushkin. Maternal great-grandfather was from east Africa (most likely Eritrea, based on what historians have uncovered so far). Russia is definitely a lot more inclusive when it comes to different races and ethnicities. Too bad my country (United States) still can't move past dividing and labeling people, a lasting byproduct of its dark slavery-driven past.

Unfortunately most of those folks don't stay in Russia after studies. Every few years I go back there and none of my friends are there anymore, so eventually I don't know anyone in Russia and have to start making new acquaintances.

@@danielmottweilerWe don’t have enough blacks to conduct any statistics. This is the same as asking if there are Russians in the US army or if they represent the Olympic teams. In sports, for example, we have blacks playing on football teams. As for the army, I think it won’t be difficult for them to get a job there, the question is who wants to go there now. We have quotas for admitting blacks (Africans, as I understand it) to educational institutions, for example. There is also no racism towards them on the part of civil society, or rather it may exist, but at an insignificant level

4:00 тут написали, что, вероятно, русские парни испугались, что девушка мусульманка. А мне кажется, дело совсем в другом. Думаю, парней могла немного привести в замешательство решительность девушки. Я не собираю статистику, конечно, но, по моим субъективным ощущениям, у нас чаще первый шаг к отношениям делают парни. Они могли просто растеряться, встретив такую инициативную девушку :)
Также у нас нет обязательных протокольных жестов, когда на комплимент ты обязан ответить комплиментом. Я даже за собой замечала это, когда общалась с иностранцами - они ждали всегда от меня ответного жеста, если даже какую-то мелочь хвалили, типа "футболка классная".
Третья причина, почему парни могли не отвечать ей взаимностью - растерянность от самого факта комплимента. Всё-таки не зря в русском сегменте интернета очень популярны шутки про мужчину, который "за свою жизнь получает три комплимента". Зачастую не балуем мы их этим. :) Мой муж, например, совсем не умеет принимать комплименты, и я его к этому приучаю.
Я даже могу вспотеть от мысли, что кто-то мне может комплимент сказать. Что-нибудь "ну ничего себе! ты такую тему замутил!" Ещё готов выслушать но развёрнутый комплимент - провалюсь на месте.
С позиции парня, я уверен на 99% что дело в платке ) Ну то есть я бы ее в принципе не рассматривал как возможного партнера, как мусульманку. Даже если она делает комплимент, я был бы уверен что за этим комплиментом ничего кроме вежливости не стоит, потому что мусульманка не будет рассматривать НЕ мусульманина как вероятного партнера

Девушка в платке, вероятно с тобой не знакомятся потому что ты мусульманка. У нас тут как бы сложились такие взаимоотношения что если ты мусульманка именно глубоко верующая, то с тобой просто будет сложно встречаться из-за религиозных ограничений, поэтому не каждый на это пойдет. И не потому что запрет какой то в голове, просто не удобно, начиная с еды, заканчивая сексом и опять же религиозными заморочками. Но если девушка очень красива и ты реально влюбился с первого взгляда и готов к очень серьезным отношениям и трудностям (которые конечно преодолимы) то конечно парень подкатит, но это ведь редкость. У меня 2 друга женаты на мусульманках, и они работали вместе и постепенно узнавали друг друга. В общем, сними платок и появится ухажер.

There are two critical things in relationships russians are looking for.
1. Language. Russians want to know you, want to talk and want to actually understand you. Words and communication mean a lot here. If you can communicate without problems, it wil easily bring your relationships (overall, not only in romantic way) to the whole new level.
2. Culture. That may cause troubles with understanding each other. Russia is not the most popular touristic trope or the place a lot of blacks move to. So a lot of people there think you don't want to know their culture, learn language, so they think of you as you've moved here for a time just to get some education or see the counry. So they - perhaps understandably - suggest you're just a visitor. Russians highly appreciate when you're interested in their culture and when you try to explore it with respect. When they see your attemts to get accustomed to another culture, they show you the same respect to your culture and share their heart too.
As for "unusual look": blacks are rare in Russia, so a lot of people just don't get used to seeing, communicating and thinking of black people in a romantic way. The same way as it works when you're a person of a different race moving to another country.
This way, it's mostly not about racism or not liking the appearance, but about cultural and language encountering.
The flowers are more a respect gesture than a romantic one
If we go to someone’s home we always bring flowers , candy or whatever small gift to show respect
These sisters and brothers have probably forgotten or they are highly westernized...it is part of the African culture to take something with you when visiting somebody else....and the host should not allowed you to leave without serving you the best the they have...and also preparing an offering to the visitor to take with him. In terms of values we Africans have more in common with the east than the west.
I dated a Russian last year I arrived here.
I think Russians they can love and care for their woman.
But they are very serious and don't really know how to loosen up. 😊 Well this is just my own observation.
And i think most of their guys also want to marry blacks but the problem i am having is finding the one who at least speaks 70% of English language as i am still struggling to be perfect with the Russian language. Is still hard to communicate with russia. But i am hoping on finding one. 😊

3:50 as for this specific gorgeous woman, she’s wearing a scarf (sorry if that’s a traditional clothes, I don’t mean to offense or smth like that, I just don’t know) and most of Russians will assume she’s Muslim. Russians are either Orthodox or atheists, it is hard to meet a Muslim Russians. That is why they won’t even try to build smth with you cause they respect your religion and they know that they have to take your religion to be with you. And knowing that most Russians are not religious-religious it is kind of obvious that they won’t try to date you cause both of you are basically from different worlds, you have different morals.
It’s about respect and sometimes a fear or confusion. It’s not about not wanting to date a black person

I had a very good time with the ladies. I mainly dated Latin American and Russian girls.

В целом, я могу сказать, что с мусульманами у нас немножко осторожно связываются (особенно с девочками), потому что это зачастую другой менталитет, много проблем, которые можно решить, конечно, но там тогда обе стороны должны хотеть находить компромиссы и их семьи должны их в этом поддерживать. Плюс такая решительность для наших парней немного непривычнаХ)

Ppl don’t understand how different us so called “African Americans” are from Africans. They try to lump us all together as “blacks” but culturally and mentally we differ extremely. Africans are more family oriented and much more social. Most “african American” men are the complete opposite especially if we’re from the trenches. I don’t speak to anyone unless I feel threatened. An even then I may not speak but simply act accordingly.

I knew an African man how studied in Moscow at a university with lots of African women. He said the other African men went out of their way to meet Russian women at at another university.
It's all nice and fun, but then open any comment section to see what people actually think of women who date any people of colors, they call them ink bottles or ink blankets.
Everything that people won't tell you to seem nice they will express in the internet.

For me its been 5months now living in Russia and as a black African person open to all races i can confirm that Russians are sweet in general, i remember first time seeing how they like showing affection almost anywhere in public 😂...so far i have been approached by one guy, and of course language barrier always played a part but i remember in our conversations i could notice that his interest was just out of curiosity.
Especially when you are a bit curvy, not tt I'm bashing them for it even our African brothers are attracted to that too, they are men at the end of the day.
So yes, i totally agree that most date just out of curiosity and thats it, which is unfortunate for most of us African girls:(
I'm a Black American from the New York City area and I can say that the Russian women here are cool with dating a Black man who presents well. I've already spent time with three of them over the years, all named Olga, and it's been a good experience.
The Russian ethnicity is 100% about the identity, the language, the culture. We don’t care about the color. The father of the Russian poetry, practically the creator of the Russian literary language was part-Black, and he is to me 100000 times more Russian than me.

Muslims here tend to be as harsh, as they could so for almost all non-muslims, we tend not to interfere much outside regular daily activity.

Вижу по нику, что знаешь русский, так что пишу по-русски) То, что ты за более новый способ распределения семейных обязанностей, нормально, и таких, конечно же, больше чем 20%. Но может, ты удивишься, но даже если брать моё самое широкое окружение (18-20 лет), очень многие девушки, даже среди моих однокурсниц, в целом не исключают того, что они могут стать домохозяйками в браке. И среди семей людей, среди которых я выросла, наблюдала далеко не один пример таких "традиционных" семей, которые отлично работали. Просто касаемо таких семей есть одно условие - зарплаты мужа в таком случае должно хватать на то, чтобы обеспечить семье бездбедное существование. В этом нет ничего меркантильного, это абсолютно логично. И понятно, сейчас это редкость, тк наша экономика настроена на то, чтобы работали все. Но в целом "традиционные" семьи все ещё работают, только именно традиционные, а не то, что сложилось в советское время - и муж, и жена вкалывают по-максимуму, одинаково много, но весь быт при этом на жену. Вот это не работает.

ВОсприятие домашних занятий как доминирующего унижительного обязательства - это какой-то психологический уходящий комплекс. Так же как мужчине нравится самому по дому делать что-то, так же и женщинам нравится что-то делать и также творчески подходить к этмоу. Мужчины бы могли тоже говорить "Я что теперь, личный шофер, я на машину трачу деньги, которые зарабатываю, в гараже ремонтирую ее, зимой по колено в масле, чтобы тебя по ресторанам возить". это все зависит от уважения, если все друг друга уважают, тогда в кайф заниматься чем угодно, и так не мало молодых женщин воспринимают. Я не знаю статистику, но это не что-то фантастическое.

I'm a Russian guy, had an African gf here in Russia back in the day. I'd say that 90-95% of the time Russian men show interest in African and dark-skinned women, and a lot do, it's not for anything serious. They just want to try things out, see if there's any difference between Russian and black women, if you catch my drift. We just want a taste 😎
As for Russian women, there are many who wouldn't consider a black man under any circumstance. Don't know if most, but many. Maybe recently they've become more open. But on the other hand there are also those who are really into them and go to Africa-themed parties here and so on in the hopes of meeting some. It's like a sub-culture.
As for the African lady in the vid who speaks excellent English, if she wants to date a Russian guy then she should lose the headscarf. Else find someone from the Muslim community. Because Russian men won't any interest in Muslim women with headscarves on, it doesn't happen, at least not that I've seen.

Definitely true about the headscarf.. Even in the Uk or USA if you see a woman in a headscarf you don't even talk to them. You assume they are muslim and honestly muslims don't consider non-muslims normally. And even if the girl likes you any muslim men nearby if they see you just walk up to her they will either give you trouble or you will be making trouble for her.
My experience has been russian women are very nice when it comes to dating.
Think how many guys if they try ask out 100 women, only 1 will say yes.
If you are in russia and 1/10 women find a black man interesting and exotic and you are going around meeting 1000s of women a week in public you will feel like you are in heaven.. If even 1/10 find you exciting and interesting that is 100s of women you see in passing that will like you.
That's way better than the west.. So it doesn't matter if some that you'd never have been successful with don't like you because you're black,.. Experience of average guy in US/UK is most women reject you unless you're hot or very confident and successful.
