- Come along with me as I make a fall floral jacket using the Friday Pattern Company Ilford Jacket pattern! In this video, I will show you how I transformed a floral upholstery fabric into a cropped, boxy jacket. I show you every step, including finishing the seams with bias tape, constructing the jacket, finishing the collar, adding the buttons, and more. At the end, we talk about what I liked, and what I didn't like about the pattern.

Hi everyone! This video is a bit more chatty/vlog-style than my usual tutorials. Please let me know what you think of this style! Thanks for your continued support 😊
Very nice. Love the colors and pattern.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like the finished result 😊
Great work 😊😊
Love the large flowers😊

I really enjoyed this vlog and your honesty about the challenges of the fabric. Im always excited to see your vlogs pop up.

wow, definitely one of my favorite pieces so far. turned out great!
I'm so glad you liked it - it is one of my favourites too, very practical!
Excellent vlog, I really enjoyed the chatty format x
Aw thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great work! There are some amazing finishing details. Hope you get lots of wear out of it.
Thank you for watching and leaving such a nice comment! I have worn it out a couple times so far 😊
The jacket is so cute! It turned out beautifully! I would totally try to find that fabric for myself if it were less bulky!
Thank you so much! I know, the print is amazing! I wish this exact print was available on a more usable fabric, like denim! Thanks for watching 😊
This is very inspiring and helpful to me. I’m hoping to start sewing a spring jacket soon. This video is giving me ideas!
That is so exciting, goodluck and have fun with your jacket project! Thanks for watching! 😊
You always do an awesome job. Looks great on you.
Thank you so much for such a nice comment! Glad you liked the result! 😊
Really nice work! I loved how it turned out. I have made the version with no sleeve placket. In addition to being easier, it is also wider overall, which I think makes it better for layering. Something to keep in mind for next time. 🙂
Thank you for watching and commenting! Good point about the wider sleeve! Thank you! 😊
Love the chatty-style vlog! Im thinking about making this jacket too and this was really great to help me wrap my head around my own project. Also, i love your hair haha!
Aw thank you so much for watching and the compliment! I hope your jacket project goes well! 😊
It's so cute, I love it! Love the floral print also. And I applaud your patience to make it look so perfect, I could learn from that ;)
Thank you! It's definitely not perfect but overall I'm pleased 😊
You have a lovely ja cket❤
Thank you so much! 😊
You did a great job I like the jacket alot. I wonder if serging the edges would have cut down on some of the fraying.
Good point! I don't have a serger but I did Zig zag the edges. The main problem areas are where I had to trim down the seam allowance at corners etc. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
Wow it’s beautiful you’ve done a really good job 🦋
Thank you so much! 😊
Love it…do you wish you’d done a toile? You really were good at trouble-shooting dealing with the thickness of the fabric! I’m sorry about the fraying😩
Honestly I have little patience for toiles! I will do them for a really fitted garment or pants, but otherwise I just take the risk. At least next time I know to size up 😊 thanks for watching and commenting!
I tried following along but I made pants instead some how
Darn, honestly its an easy mistake to make! Good try 😂
