Anti-racist activist and writer Tim Wise is the author of six books, most notably his highly acclaimed memoir: White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son. His latest book, Under the Affluence: Shaming the Poor, Praising the Rich and Sacrificing the Future of America is out this month. Also, New Orleans youth discuss how racism affects their lives. All that and a few words from Laura on security forces that stink.
I love how Wise makes the point by saying being disadvantaged isn't that bad if a person can say "at least I'm not Black(I'm White)'.

I recently came across Tim Wise’s discourses. This is so eye-opening to me. We’re all being manipulated like puppets by the greedy few 😢🌿✨ Is human nature this cruel?

The solution to the problem of racism is really very simple.
1. Follow the non agression principle.
2. Practice freedom of association.
That's the whole thing?
How about
1. fully acknowledging the foundations of this country (stolen land via genocide, centuries of human trafficking, and chattel slavery, continued broken treaties w/ Indigenous people, and a continued occupation of N. America by the USA and Canada, and the continuation of government officials killing innocent Black people etc...)
2. Truth and Conciliation (look up truth and reconciling in S. Africa and Canada)
3. Stop doing harm
4. Some thoughtful form of reparations that would be designed to actually make a difference.
I'm sure there is more, but that might take this country to ground zero and put it in a place where it could start to scratch the surface just a little.
