I was the one kid that had a bunch of friends the did drugs and drank alcohol when I was in high school. I didn't touch the stuff. I never really worried about being pressured into doing that stuff and they didn't aggressively try to get me to do such things. But Judy is right. If you're not interested in doing stuff like that, best not associate with them all the time. Because if you keep your nose clean, your association with them can become a liability.
I never drank in hs or college. I was always the driver. Two times at college, we were having parties in a friend's dorm room, all.the rest drinking alcohol, me drinking Coca Cola. Two of the girls were from a neighboring university, so I went to drive them home. After I left, the party got reported and shut down. Happened the second time almost the same way, just different friends being driven home. I always wondered if the RA waited until I left before shutting them.down and weiting them.up, since she knew I didn't drink.

Same, bit different as I’m not American so legal age is 18, but at the time they were doing drugs and drinking waaay too much but I never did drugs at all and didn’t drink much, or my roommates would be out and I would be babysitting their kid, too young to really appreciate how shitty parents they were…

Until you've put in many years going to calls that didn't end up so well, please don't judge me nor the parties I would accept invitations to.

Yeah, but you can see his extreme arrogance trough it all so clearly. He obviously thinks he's smarter than anyone. If he'll continue like this, after he is not considered a teen or very young, he will find himself quite disliked and without real relationships. He's smart, but I hope he gets humbled and becomes a decent person with happy people surrounding him.
If Joe "speaks with ease and sophistication," He wouldn't have said, "Me and her don't get along," Instead He would have said, "she and I don't get along." In order for him to become a University Professor, Joe would first need to stop hanging out in the park late at night in the dead of winter watching his friends get baked, then he would need to take English classes to learn to speak proper English!😂😂

The mom's hesitance to reply to a simple question of "Did you know your son was drinking and getting high while in the possession of the car?" already says enough. She knew yet wants to put the blame with her son's friend.
He was not the user of drinking and drugs, but guilty of hanging around them. Guess you never got caught doing nothing with your drinking and drugging friends, @Shfiting2Wolf? But you did and paid the price and was living at home with mom and dad.
@@trekgirl65 Judge Judy literally asked "Were you aware your son was getting high?" and mom was hesitant to respond. The defendant is not the plaintiff's son, it's the boy in sitting with the defendant.
Secondly, there's no reason to be so aggressive simply because I made a comment about what the judge LITERALLY said. Sounds to me you're awfully sensitive about drugs, alcohol and getting caught doing stuff with said friends.
I never said anything bad about the defendant. I simply commented on the reluctance of mom admitting or denying the potential drug use of her son. No need to get so huffy puffy about it

On the off chance this guy really doesn’t do drugs or drink I feel bad for him and all the judgement he’s getting. I’m a giant pothead but one of my best friends in high school was straight edge. He truly never touched the stuff, he was about as straight and narrow as you could get. We bonded over metal music, not drugs and alcohol.
Guilty by association is real and unfortunate at times.

Growing up, most people all had friends that do bad things even if they didn't do it with them. Its part of learning to take accountability when transitioning into adulthood. We either follow them and get into trouble with them or see them get in to trouble and learn what not to do.

I was and still am the sober guy in my group of friends. I have driven many a drunk friend home safely after a night of fun. Mixing unspoiled blueberries with the moldy ones sometimes has a positive effect.

I like the analogy, but you can also get blamed and put in crazy situations when hanging around a "bad" crowd. It's best not to associate with them but to each its own. Nobody's perfect

I’m in my 30’s. I’ve never smoked weed. I’ve eaten maybe 2 edibles my entire life. My roommate/good friend smokes weed all the time. Most of our friends do. They don’t pressure me. We are all good. So.. if this kid doesn’t drink or smoke, I feel bad for this kid getting all the flack from JJ.

@@ReggieGurl04 I am in my late 20s and aside from a little bit of cannabis, I don't do drugs. I didnt grow up around drug users either. I did live WITH drug users in my early 20s but they were horrible people to live with. Irresponsible, always late on bills and rent, bringing drama, violent boyfriends. Yea I dont miss living around people like that nor do I encourage young people to do so. Theres also a difference between being in that crap as a teenager and in your 20s

My husband literally was the sober friend growing up. Didn’t smoke or drink so this is plausible didn’t take his first drink till he was 28
I actually feel for the Defendant. Judge Judy seems to be extra feisty with the "moldy blueberry" analogy. And honestly, it's just coming off as rude. The Defendant is calm, clean, and straight forward with his answers. The Judge needs to recognize not all teenagers are lying drug users(although I realize she's seen her fair share).
I feel like he has been getting a bit of hard treatment too, although I suspect Judge Judy might be doing it as a lesson, showing his association with the moldy blueberries will be detrimental on him one way or another. And probably suspicious that he might be not holier than thou straight shooter of his group as he claims to be.
Well I got news for you. It’s all good until he’s driving around with those friends in the car and they have something on them he will be held legally accountable for. You are the company you keep, like it or not.
