“Go pickup the polar bears” 😂🤣. I know she misspoke but that was hilarious 🤣
😆 I loved that hahaha
She's clearly never been to a Circle K. Must not have them in New York.
Still score for Circle K marketing that the kid called out “Polar Pop”.
I don’t know if she misspoke by accident
I was wondering why no one laughed. While I was cracking up
Mom better learn a lesson from this. Most people dont care when they are not the owner or care when the dont suffer consequences for their actions. Sell the son the car, transfer everything into his name and make him 100% liable for anything that goes wrong with the vehicle. Watch how fast he will learn accountability when it all falls into his lap of what his friends do with his vehicle.
Make sure the insurance is in his name as well!!!!!
except they don't...they still speed and drive drunk/ high. That's why parents who can afford it buy their kids a HUGE SUV or pickup. They know their kids can't drive, they don't want THEIR kids to get hurt, and they don't give a toss about the family in the compact car whom their kid mows down and kills. On that cheery note....all the best to you!!
He just said close to the end of the case that HE paid for the car. Mom just bought it and he paid for it.
@@getin3949 because he has no credit. Him paying the monthly payment is the least he can and should do. That means the car is in her name and therefore the insurance is as well. The original comment still holds true.
I think the son isn’t talking to her because he did buy the car and now is mother sorta stole it and successfully sued his friend
Alex seemed more truthful than his Mother
The mother looks like a semi-retired porn star. Those lip fillers are a bit much.
He looks more like a clown
How do you figure?
Really? I must have watched a different case! 😂
It was his car. Why go to court?? Hasn't he already learned his lesson.? Mom gets MONEY and a car she didn't pay for.
The two young men carried themselves respectably.
yet they drove the car high
Good kids
@@gigibali He doesnt use it.
????? They SHOULD be respectful. You talk like they're doing JJ a favor. They should be respectful and curtious before a judge.
@@dinahbrown902Alex and Joe ran away from home because of behavior issues. I doubt Joe's grandmother wants to be responsible for another teenager again.
I gotta admit Joseph B. for his age is: polished, well dressed, composed, prepared, confident, and calm. Hopefully he hangs out with "fresher" blueberries and makes good decisions in his future.
Funny I was just thinking he puts me in mind of a sociopathic serial killer from a movie. Smug, shows little emotion, well dressed, everything in its place, believes he is smarter, better than everyone else. This kid is the ring leader decomposed blueberry, Lord Voldemort as a teenager. There is a reason why he was booted from his house and he lives with his grandmother.

You’re a monster
Either way 😂😂😂💀

Why is the mom suing for damages if the son paid for the car??? 🤔 I'm surprised JJ didn't bring that up!
It’s in her name. It belongs to her.
@@sage6321 Ya but he paid for it…She’s not financially burdened from this accident the son is
@@DonGrigorianFishing she is if the car is registered and insured to her and an uninsured driver was behind the wheel.

his point.
@@maybellllllll I get it, it's not like she lost out on the value of the car! She didn't pay anything for it! But her insurance premium just went up for allowing an uninsured person drive the car. So she did lose some money. When Mom and son make up she fix the car and give it back to him.
The way it was going I thought she was going to dismiss the case. The kid actually handled himself well and it seemed like Judy was looking for a way to be mean to him but he wasn't giving her much ammunition.
Seems a very well spoken young man. Hopefully he’ll start making better choices.
He was lying through his teeth.
He won't.

He’s going to be fine. Pot smoking is just not that big of a deal. No different than drinking.
The son paid for the car AND was on the defendants witness stand.. tells you a lot about why he moved out as soon as he turned 18.
Doesnt want to follow rules thats why.
she told him that nobody is allowed to drive the car and HE AGREED, then nonchalantly gave it to his friend to drive. he is a liar, irresponsible, and selfish. then you have the nerve to blame the mom and try to paint her as the bad guy? that says a lot about YOU actually.
Umm he was probably under his parents insurance still which makes the mom viable like Judy said you don’t know real life
@@queenbee3647 he doesn’t have to follow mommy and daddy’s rules after 18 if he’s out of the house 🤷🏻♂️
@@Dayserking it wasn't mommy and daddy's rules, "bedtime at 10:00pm and no phone". it was an agreement, a CONTRACT. just because it happens to be with your parents, does NOT mean you can weasel out of it and find leniency in the conditions. its honestly really simple. you just have to ponder a little. if anything, he should be more firm in HONORING the agreement bc it is with his parents. goes to show your lack of respect to your own parents and your lack on consideration to the ones who raised you and took care of you when you were not able to.

JJ annoyed me this time. Like what was the point of saying smarty pants and all that just cause he's 18. He was actually making total sense.
Sometimes this judge can be unreasonably rude and intimidating to people.
Yeah, right? Everything he said made perfect sense, and I believed him 100%. He even provided proof that the case against him was dismissed. Bad call on her part. At least he's not the one paying.
This guy was acting 100x better than most 30+ year old "adults" on this show.
Yes he was a smarty pants
She just hates teenagers lmao
The defendant seems like a good kid. I mean farm work is hard work.
What the fuck does hard work on a farm have to do with being a good kid? Fred West worked hard driving a truck, it's just that he was a mass murderer when he got home.
I can see why her son left home and has nothing to do with her.
It's disgusting that she's profiting off a car that her son paid for.
JJ's a jerk for letting her do that.
This is Judge Judy's favourite type of case!....Giving life lessons to intelligent, respectful people who could be on a better path with a bit of guidance (the boys) or simply a reality check (the mother). I think she really had fun with this one 😁
... He's not intelligent. If he was intelligent he wouldn't be in that kind of mess. I swear the meaning of intelligence is lost these days. They were both idiots.
Judge is too rude sometime. Young kid was very professional.
She gets irritated when she sees someone with potential throw their life away by hanging out with degenerates.
So she’s suing but her son bought the car.. that’s crazy
the defendant is super mature & well spoken it seems like
Yes, "it seems like." Which has nothing to do with the reality.
He gives me the Eddie Haskell vibe , almost to well spoken to be real .
Yes, just like a snake-oil salesman, or career politician.
I am super surprised that Judge Judy awarded her anything. She'd normally say that he was responsible for half and get the other from your son.
Wait, so the kid buys the car but must pay the parent for the damages?? Haha wow
probably because HER money will be used to get it fixed, not her son’s
Those defendants are soooo cuuuttteee
That's the only reason I'm on their side.
The son was gorgeous
JJ’s face at 1:44, is so unimpressed, it’s hilarious.... 😂😂
This is so funny because this doesn’t surprise me at all. I went to college in Decatur and yup. JJ can laugh all she wants but there’s nothing else to do in Decatur in mid-January 😂😂😂
His Mother STILL trying to excuse her Son's behavior.

So nobody is gonna say anything about the kid's claim about the threat of getting arrest if they ask about the driver of a truck involved in a collision with him? Who owned the truck, the director of the FBI??? Or was he completely at fault and was trying to stay out of trouble?
If the truck ever existed. I'm not surprised JJ dismissed it, it all sounds like very convenient made up story for gullible people...
@@angguaa - I found it interesting that despite that story, *he* was given a citation for driving too fast for the conditions. At that point, the believability of his story diminished considerably.
That defendant will be somebody one day.
1:33 "In Illinois there is a statue...". Classic JJ emphasizing "statute" in her response :D
Bruh this makes me remember the “YoUr HoNoR, it’s Illinois LAW” for that one photographer episode
😂😂😂😂
"Good for you" took me allllll the way out. She's so petty
This is a case of JJ being 3/4 century old is actually a disadvantage. The kid who crashed was factually sober. So they were smart to have him drive. Accidents happen. That’s what insurance is for. That the kids are drinking and smoking underage may be a problem. But it’s entirely not a factor nor does it mean anything else they do is wrong. I don’t understand why the mother is suing if the son paid for it… just give the son the totaled car and say “congrats”
Be careful about the subconscious ageism comment about JJ being 3/4 century old. Many young kids today don't know what they don't know.
@@scmpmr8415 subconscious? It was fully conscious. No one knows what they don't know... so that statement is redundant.
I am so confused by this case. Son pays for the car but the mother is suing and wins? Son lets his friend drive but his mother sues the friend and wins? What am I missing here?
I suspectvthe parents maintained ownership and paid insurance so yep kid paid for the car, but isn't the legal owner...yet.
Both blueberries seem to be decent kids. The Plaintiff should be ashamed for bringing such a ridiculous claim to court. She didn't even pay for the car herself, her son did.
Nothing decent about them.
Her son should be ashamed for letting someone else drive a car with insurance and registration in his mom’s name without her permission. My insurance company also would not cover this. That’s not a decent thing to do whether he paid for the car or not.
I love cases like this. When JJ yells at the paintiff the entire time, tells them how dumb they are, tells them this is all their fault. Then at the end awards them their full judgement lmao
Smarty Pants 😂😂😂
I think the mother should be forced to bake Judge Judy a blueberry pie!
It was a weird judgment because she already said the lady is liable then ruled in her favour. I guess because the boy got a ticket (which was dismissed) - seems she just wanted to 'teach him a lesson'
I was very surprised at that verdict
She’s liable if he were to cause damage to another person, car or thing because the car is in her name as well as the insurance. That doesn’t absolve him of his responsibility
@@whosaidthat9265 but he isn't responsible under the law as he was driving the car with permission. If anything she should sue her son, not the boy
@@jdsiv3lol that’s not how civil liability works. But hey, think whatever you want.
How in heavens name do you buy a whole vehicle and don’t know the seller’s name? This mother told more lies than the defendant. She sued the plaintiff and distanced her son from any blame 🤨
Judge judy was waaaayy off with her judgement on this case...her son paid for the car 😂😂😂
The mom was ethically 100% wrong, but the car being in her name meant she was legally in the right. I hope her relationship with her kid was worth $1800 and a trip to LA.
Technically she should have been suing her son. Hope the money was worth the relationship with her boy.
Thanks for your insight, Perry Mason.
@@toosense No because the defendant was NEGLIGENT in driving the vehicle and you cannot be held responsible for someone else's CRIME/ OFFENSE
@@toosense why do you believe parents owe their children humility? whereabouts do you live? in a country where they send their parents to nursing homes and leave them their to die alone? if you go to other countries that are civilized, children sacrifice for their parents.

I hope these guys will do better with their life. Joe is scary well spoken.
I live in Maine and my biggest pet peeve is that people, especially young drivers ed students, are not taught how to drive on snowy and icy roads. They're always impatient and tailgating people who are attempting to drive safely. Every winter young people are either killed or kill someone else from driving too fast for road conditions. That's why I have a dash cam and next time I'm getting a set for the front and back. I highly recommend everyone do this, even in warm southern states.
wishing you the best Joseph!
I have over 50 years of first hand knowledge of hanging around with, and being a moldy blue berry.... It never ceases to amaze me how often a phantom vehicle pops up, causes a crash and then disappears..
"They seem like nice well prepared young men" yeah because they are in court and want to win their case lol
Defendant could become a very successful professional. He has the looks, demeanor.and speaks well. He outclassed JJ in this case.
The Moldy Blueberries..... sounds like a punk rock band!!!
I felt that the judge was disrespectful to the young man. Maybe she has more information than we do, but just because she's old and he's young, doesn't mean she has to be so rude. If she's wanting to teach him a lesson, one...that's not her role and two...there's better ways of really getting through to someone. I dunno, honey attracts more than vinegar is a good motto to follow. Sometimes I just can't with her.
i agree. JJ gets on my nerves most of the time, especially when she 's patronising. When she wants a yes or a no, she reminds me of the worst kind of lawyer : the truth is in the middle, most of the time.
she was annoyed with him because he refused to pay for the damages... what are you even talking about? JJ gave it to him because he REFUSED to pay for what HE CAUSED!!! it was his fault the car was damaged and he refused to pay, you would be annoyed to.
It’s more like morality according to JJ, than actually following the law. JJ had no interest in the local law, which I find strange.
@@mattyd3079 I get what you are saying, but JJ can't be responsible for learning all the variations of laws across the 50 states. She's an arbitrator on this show, not an actual judge. She has no jurisdiction except that which the plaintiff and defendant agree to by signing a contract to appear on the show. They agree to allowing her to arbitrate, they are not showing up to court.
@@sage6321 I swear. People are more worried about someone’s tone than the facts. Too soft for me lol

But... if the kid paid for the car then why is she suing to fix it? She should have been told by Judy to simply sign it over to her son and let him deal with it.
The car is in her name. She's responsible for it legally
I am so confused. The son said he paid for the car. If he paid for it, how is she getting anything for damages?
I am not sure if I missed something, but I am certain he claimed he paid for it and knew the actual amount.
it is in her name. it belongs to her.
Yup! $1800.00 plus title and registration.
@@sage6321 Right, but if he paid for the car, and Judy believed that to be the truth - how could she then award her more money for it ? Especially when Judy stated it was all her fault anyway.

I would just be grateful they were ok
Me too. What a mom
The reason she didn't challenge the son if he paid for it or not cuz she knew he was lying. What is a bad blueberry get $1,800😂😂😂
I would have liked to see JJ dig into why the car belonged to the Mom if the son paid for it. How can you give someone a car for which they paid? Also, should the son get the money awarded if he paid for the car in the first place?
Sometimes I feel like Judge Judy is too hard on the teens. The defendant actually seemed very responsible and respectful yet she was still very hard on him.
They are young enough to learn to change their ways.
Teens act proper in court, don’t be naïve
Because the defendant is just like the other blueberries ... moldy
Them going on the show and getting the free trip is the only reason the son & friend agreed to go! Plus they get the car fixed for free! When the son is no longer pissed at the mom and runs home this will all pass and she'll give the car back to him! 😅😅😅
Tough love. She aims to teach them a lesson!!!
The mom looks high like her kid does. 😅
The thumbnail kills me 😂
This a a prime example of how parents want their teenagers to get out and have fun but not too much fun. Lol!
It really depends on son or daughter but all parents know what they gonna be doing.
i thought she would dismiss the claim 😯
Polar bears 😂
Don’t let your son take your car
Stay away from the moldy blueberries.
Judge Judy fist pump: "good fo you."
Defendant blushes, presents himself well and overall, except for possible speed issue-I think might have been faster,
Kids are kids. Could be so much worse
There's a valuable lesson to be here kids. If you ever have kids (and don't feel the need to confirm with me if you don't want them), you're spending their whole lives with them and it's easy to see if they're trustworthy or not. In this case, the kid has not done much that is trustworthy yet the mom still trusts him. And it seems she's still getting disappointed instead of pleasantly surprised. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of *insanity.* I know you want to do what's best for your kid and not give up on them. But don't let them become a liability in your life.
I thought 4 sure judge Judy was gonna rule against the plaintiff because she str8 told the mom it was her fault 4 allowing her irresponsible son 2 take the 🚘!! What a turnaround!!
Do Not put someone on your insurance. They can get their own. When I got my first car my dad kept tryna push me to be on his insurance. I told him straight out No. I'm not being tied to him legally especially car insurance. It's a lot safer and a sense of independence to have your own bills n car insurance.
SOOOO glad youngens are still being taught to have self-respect! Most don’t these days! As a Republican I must say your comment gives me hope lol. I was always the same way. Life is so much more fun when you live with dignity and want to be responsible for your own actions!
That ruling surprised me. Especially given the fact the son says he paid for the car. The mom just got a windfall.
Another case where Judy knew all along what the ruling would be but decided to mess with the teenagers and teach them a few lessons. They seem like decent kids who could do well in life if they grow up and start making better decisions, hopefully they did!
The Moldy Blueberries 🫐
Wait I thought he said he bought the car, maybe I need to rewatch it lol
She is suing the wrong person.
You know, sometimes good young men have positive influences on friends who would otherwise start hanging out with the wrong crowd. It’s not always good kids being brought down to the levels of the bad kids.
I don’t think the defendant is a bad teen. I think he is just hanging out with the wrong people. As Judge Judy said, don’t hang out with the moldy blueberries.
I thought Alex paid for the car? Why was his mother compensated for the loss?
Because the car was in her name. From a judicial standpoint everything was her fault. Her insurance premium is gonna go way up.
I’m confused. If the kid bought the car himself as he states in court, why did JJ award the plaintiff any damages? Perhaps she didn’t believe him.
How did she win? Didn’t just JJ say that she was responsible because she allowed her son to drive? And if her son was the one who bought it, then she has no case to bring in the first place.
I don't know if I'm just a bad judge of character or what, but Ive seen this case several times and I can't pick up on anything that discredit this defendant. I just think he's straightforward.
I'm with the defense on this one. But also, if the kid paid for the car, why does the mom own it now?
Believe me, you cannot trust how someone presents in front of you when they know they have to put on a good face. What’s shocking is actually how many people don’t even have the ability to do that very basic thing. But either way, don’t be misled into thinking someone is upstanding because they were able to not act like a maniac for 10 minutes. The judge is right.
I didn't think that she was gonna give the plaintiff ANYTHING the way that she kept going after that woman!!!
