    Hi did your steering control light come on after putting the steering module back on ? I had to change out my whole piece because my turning signal switch would magically come whenever I was driving .

    Hello. I saw this video to get an idea of how to get to the clock spring to replace it. My problem is a different though. My Airbag light is on. My car was involved in an accident (prior owner) and the airbag was deployed burning the two connectors (yellow & blue) on clock spring. I purchased another clock spring without knowing that I had to “test” if it worked first? I also purchased a new Airbag. Would this new (used) clock spring make my airbag light go off once i connect the two adapters to the new airbag module?

      So after I made this video I learned that on some versions of the clockspring won't have pass through based on features your car has. For example heated steering wheel... Once you install the new one and the airbag the light should go off... Definitely disconnect the battery while doing all that though.

    To add the heated steering wheel option, other than the steering wheel itself, do i have to replace the whole clock spring?

    • @awesome_rt_20
      @awesome_rt_20  Před 4 lety

      You would have to get the heated wheel, the clock spring or "multifunction switch" as it's labelled since you can't buy just the clock spring, and then you would have to have the dealer add the functionality to the uconnect... Might be a way to get it on the uconnect similar to how the Tazer works but I wouldn't know the obd commands to enable it.

    No brother there isn't any videos for the removal of the steering wheel! I broke my turn signal lever on my 17 challenger and I've been looking! And yeah I spent 500 on the replacement..

    I cannot find the video on taking that module off the column? Did you? If not do you have any tips?
    I am under the impression there is a point where one just spreads the sides and pulls the thing off?
    Please share?

      Hey... I'll look for that video real quick... I think it was a video of a 300 instead but it's the exact same process. What issues are you having with yours. Come to find out I wasn't exactly correct in this video. Depending on what features your car has like a heated wheel for example you may or may not have connectivity on all of those pins. My clock spring was actually good even though 2 pins didn't have pass through. How far have you gotten with trying to remove it?

      Thanks,
      The steering wheel bolt was seized. I had a friend hold it, even put a strap to a steel pole next to the car and it would not let go, had to use a hand held impact driver, she broke loose but so did the SAS.
      We were swapping a Paddle shifter wheel on. A Steal @$100.00 used in excellent condition, but add $300.00+ for thew module now.
      There are vids on the pre-2011-2014 modules that are not the all-in one, I hope you have some removal tips.

      I looked for the video i originally watched and can't find it yet... but if you have the steering wheel off then you are pretty much good at this point... If you look underneath the steering column you can remove the little plastic trim piece that attaches the leather cover to the dash area and then reach up in there and unplug the pin connector... once that is out you simply pull the entire multi function switch right off the steering column as one piece. I just looked through video footage I have from videos I never posted and I have some videos on removing it but never posted them. If you can't get it off I can edit this video footage and post it. Just let me know.

      Sorry I'm late subscribing! Also I somehow missed the first part of the video where the column shaft is exposed and the "gap hider" hanging there. This was a huge help just seeing that.
      So....... the thing just pulls off with a tug eh? Was it stubborn? My module is in route, I'm not pulling her down until I see the brown truck.

    • @awesome_rt_20
      @awesome_rt_20  Před 4 lety +1

      Should slide off pretty easy but yeah just give it a little tug and should come right off.

    Did you have a air bag light?

    • @awesome_rt_20
      @awesome_rt_20  Před 4 lety

      I didn't... My issues were strange since only some of the steering controls didn't work. Horn, airbag, cruise control and paddle shifters all worked fine but the left side buttons and audio controls didn't work. If you have an airbag light and none of the controls or horn work if say clock spring would be the culprit.
