Fun fact, there were two lines Joss Whedon added to this film's script. And fittingly, they represent both the best and worst of Joss' writing. The good line he added was Wolverine calling Cyclops a dick and Cyclops knowing he's the real Logan because of it.
The bad one was, you guessed it, the Toad Struck By Lightning Line! Yep, that was Joss Whedon.
And they thought he should rewrite Justice League...

Well, in defense of that, the frog line was out of context because the scene that gave it context was cut from the movie.

There are people who still haven't forgiven them for leaving Gambit out.
I mean, come on - he was in the animated series!
Well, it was early days of superhero movies, I think they were afraid of making the first movie look silly by oversaturation with too many lightshow superpowers like Gambit and Jubilee. Not to mention them being relative newcomers to the team, so the showrunners probably just went with the four most well known team members.

The reason why Professor X didn't remove Magneto's helmet is very simple actually.

The X-men movies have some really good moments and some really bad ones too, some characters were completely wasted and others became as iconic and well known as the ones from the comics, that series is a real rollercoaster, but that's part of what makes it enjoyable.
Yeah, I do wish there was more consistency with what was released, but overall, Fox did an ok job with the X-Men characters.

I would literally love for a streaming service to make a live action X-Men series that just copies and paste the 90's cartoon frame by frame, line by line, story.... 🥰 casting would be huge, would have to find people that actually match the characters for the role. We need a Wolverine who is actually short.

Yeah, I notice a lot of them have jokes that overlap. See also "How It Should Have Ended" which also use some same jokes. I'd love to see "Cinema Sins" do a montage of all these same jokes being used.

I don't know if this is true, but I heard there was actually an abandoned thread of Toad jokes/facts throughout the script originally. Toad would do something and then follow it up with a fact about toads in nature, and Storm's line was meant to be a payoff of that thread. But for whatever reason, all the setup facts were cut, and Storm's line was left in, resulting in the terrible dialogue we have now.
Yup, that's exactly what happened. Came looking to see if anyone else pointed it out, to save me time. 😂

Unfortunately none of the X-Men movies were ever really that good but the ones that were OK seem so much better because of the incredible style and almost relentlessly perfect casting.
I think Magneto's floating Newton's Cradle is like his fidget spinner. Or maybe he is such a mutant supremacist he is compelled constantly use his power

PM wins this one for me! The HT almost got it because of the HILARIOUS starring section... TIMMEH! Haven't heard that reference since I was in high school haha. But the PM really captured some of the absurdities really well in a funny way. The Cinema Sins really nailed a lot of plot holes, but the comedy factor wasn't nearly as strong as the HT or the PM for me. As for the movies, these classic X-Men films (the first and second one... we don't speak about the 3rd) they are still my favorite X-Men movies! I think X2 is my favorite overall. Who knows, could be nostalgia factor lol
Storm's accent changes in the second and third film hence the reason Cinemasins and Pitch meeting didn't point that our as they only did the first film compared to honest trailers who did all three.
This must be an early Cinema Sins. Only a few of them were a complete stretch or intentional misunderstanding of what happened. The best videos point out stuff I hadn't thought about much but I almost never laugh.
The fact that it was only five minutes is the giveaway.

Relax CinemaSins, most of the movies for some time now wouldn't happen without "wild guesses". They had the best detailing of the things it's best not to think about, out logic to sleep until the movie's end.
Honest Trailer brought a different slant and was so funny. Wonder if he's going to apply for a special effects make-up artist, lots buebs that needed painted. Hey guy it's okay if the big films won't have you, there are many other people and places that are into all kinds of body painting; and yes lots would be buebs involved.
Pitch Meeting was, as usual, great. Oddly, this time Writer Guy was the saner one. Same bad writing and weird excuses though. This is an earlier episode, perhaps Producer Guy is the one driving him crazy, not the other way around. He certainly has his wife of the brink of losing it.
To be fair didn't rogues powers come from her somehow permanently absorbing Captain Marvel's powers which they don't have the rights too?

They could have easily added a line about how she still hates her powers because of how she got the additional powers. Don't even have to name drop Ms. Marvel. It's an easy fix to give us the Rogue we love. They completely bombed the character here.

Wow wow wow... Wow.. Timmy got me hard. For the first time ever in your VS series, I have to give it to Honest Trailers. Apparently my bias actually does know some bound. It was just too early for Pitch Meeting, before Ryan really found his stride. The Timmy line was just too good. Even Ryan takes an L once in a while, just not very often.

Just saw Venom. It was okay. It felt like something was missing. Wish they did maximum carnage. If you go to the movies, stay until the end. Trust me. Well the mid credit scene. No end credit scene.

Early cinemasins were a lot better than the new ones.. more edgy, funny jokes.. less woke PC explanations about gender, race, politics in general... now there seems to be a few in each video at least.
Used to make jokes along the same lines that hed call out. Same with all of these vids really.
To be clear, I am still a fan of Jeremy and cinemasins, just voicing a minor complaint.

Now that CinemaSins has millions of subscribers, the channel's turned into pure clickbait.
I really dislike CinemaSins ... half the time he doesn't understand simple plot points and marks them as sins (for example why Magneto wanted to turn everyone into mutants). It's just annoying and not entertaining. I stopped watching those a long time ago and this reminded me why.
P.S.: Why do people stand in a room looking at a wall and lift dumbbells over and over and over without anyone being around? Or other things of that nature? Exercise! Honing skills! Improving precision! It's really not that hard to get.
You can see how bad the new EWW videos are when you go on Th3birdman’s channel. He does the same thing as them but TO them.
Magneto's name is German, it's not pronounced "Lenn-sher", it should be pronounced "Lens-herr". Heck, in the X-Men (2000) movie it's actually spelled correctly "Erik Lehnsherr" unlike in some comicbooks. But hey, expecting US-American writers or CZcamsrs to spend 10 seconds on looking something up or actually knowing languages other than English exist is probably too much to ask, right? /sarcasm
