It's kind of refreshing in this ocean of OLED reviews to get budget monitor reviews, especially when they are this high quality. Surprising response times for a VA owner but I still think an IPS panel is better suited for budget gamers.
@@TotallydubbedHD as I said, most of them have the smear. Only Odyssey g7 , TCL with rapid VA and MSI with rapid VA don't. I just got $200 MSI 27cq6f rapid VA, it's amazing. Maybe you should do a test on it because it seems like absolutely the best budget monitor to me. IPS-like speed with 5000:1 contrast.
I really wish we have more reviews like this. Monitors that are budget oriented but their capabilities are really good. Even got surprising ones like VA panels getting their response time improved, while not sacrificing visuals. I already lost interests at the amount of OLED monitors review cause I know that I won't be be able to buy them anytime soon. The other review that I usually watch that also review budget panels is an Indonesian reviewer named GTID.
@@TotallydubbedHD Fair point, it kinda looks like the monitors were just quietly put on sale without any warning. I had no idea they even made monitors
Hee That new flat 27 inches 4k 170Hz (160HzOC) with their own mande TCL CSOT HVA Panel plus 1156 dimming zones looks... Great at least... I want to see what can do a "Pantone Verified" monitor.
Would you say this monitor is worth buying at the current discounted £200 price point If compared to the other monitors that you recommended at standard rrp?

My local Best Buy has one being delivered for me in a week. I can see how the motion is, what's more important to me is the black uniformity since I already returned a different VA curved.
so the "Rapid VA" panel is different from regular VA indeed? I'm torn between 27CQ6PF (Rapid VA) and 274QRF QD E2 (Rapid IPS). I'm more toward story driven games and kinda don't mind the problem people saying about VA. But since I never owned any monitor, this is my first monitor to buy I'm afraid buying a VA (people keep saying black smearing, ghosting, etc.) will be a regret. The 27CQ6PF is RM900± ($188±) and 274QRF QD E2 is RM1200± ($250) both price of a voucher discount.

Smearing during gaming is almost non-existent!!

Thanks for the kind comment, glad you enjoyed the video! And agreed, really fast for a VA, but unusable at the highest overdrive lol

I'd love to see a review of the TCL 34R83Q, their ultrawide + miniLED take of the same Rapid VA tech.
I'd love if TCL were a bit more proactive to reviewers in the UK too lol

there is MSI MAG27CQ6F with 5000:1 contrast, Rapid VA
The monitor you're talking about is sub 200 usd. If it's true that it has no black smearing and 5000:1 contrast then IPS is fucking finished.
