Cavill proved himself as a man of integrity. He wont ruin a character and franchise for a paycheck. He had the balls to just say no and walk away. Respect.
@@elliotjohnson9415 But we can easily figure out why, he heavily campaigned himself for his position as Geralt as well as he shows so much love for the books and lore. Looking at the Season 2, you can easily see that the writes completely ignored most of the book and went off script as such why would he still act for a show that is supposed to be adapted from the books, but instead doesn't, you can see why he left.
@@elliotjohnson9415 Not outright no but there are a few interviews that heavily points in that direction aswell as with the news that he was battling with the showrunners on an almost daily basis to stay true to the books that rumors started to come out that they wanted to replace him. The scene where Geralt is kneeling and says goodbye to hes horse Roach was entierly scripted by Henry himself. The writers wanted to make it like a semi comedy moment becouse he names all horses Roach and Henry refused to go along with what they wanted to do so they simply told him to come up with the scene. And the next day whats in the series is what he came up with. Many say thats the best scene in Season 2.
Can't even blame Netflix, it's the writers on the project that drove him off. Even former staff on the show have gone on the record that apparently they hated the books and believed they could "do it better", which is the source of the conflicts that culminated in Henry leaving.
@@WhoTookPlockrock Yeah i saw that basically the producers and writes all hate the books and video game and they want to do whatever they want with the characters. That's exactly how they ruined so many Franchise.
I mean, that is why he left. He said all along that he would play Geralt as long as they tell great stories loyal to the source material - and the upcoming stories no longer are loyal to the source material. Why anyone was surprised that he announced his departure from the project is beyond me.
Cavil is exactly the kind of actor you want for a character with a built in fanbase. The fact that that nerd enthusiasm comes in the body of a square-jawed, blue-eyed HUNK seems surreal.
Why would having blue eyes make someone less inclined to be a nerd? Most guys I know who are nerds have blue eyes but only a handful of them are husks so I'll agree it's rare to meet a highly attractive male whose into comics and video games.

Cavil was the best possible choice for playing the Witcher. He's been doing so with perfection. Can't imagine anyone else playing Geralt. Loved the books, the games and the series.
While I agree with Cavil being brilliant, while watching Black Sails _(before the Witcher series was announced)_ I always thought Zach McGowan would make a perfect Geralt of Rivia.
He is so charming and good looking and funny and self effacing that it makes me confused and its hard for me to accept reality and I keep waiting to hear some thing horrible, like when he is done painting those Warhammer Figurines, he uses them with Armie Hammer to reenact cannibal porn.

@@alimafion agreed this is major issue with all adaptations these days they have time to put random scenes in the series but they dont have the time to adapt important parts from the books
@@ayushsahoo6022 Adaptions always had these issues. The fewest examples are true to the source material. The phrase "these days" is overused and most of the time wrong. The problems of the series are tone, atmosphere, story structure and - the cast. I like Cavill as an actor and his personal attitude. But I don´t think his (or the directors) take on Geralt is the right one. When a videogame character has more personality, more dephts - then you have a problem. The same with the actors of Dandelion, Ciri, Triss... I think the series has its qualities and I don´t mind, if the source material isn´t exactly adapted in another medium. But the original tone should be there. The series - for me - looks cheap the majority of time. That would be ok before Series like GoT shown us all, what you can get from a TV show.

Love that people tend to make fun of henry's hobbies and things that he likes but he does not care and is proud of them. He is the one of the greatest representations of the nerd culture.
Yeah, good on him! Anyone who makes fun of someone for hobbies that don't harm anyone else are ridiculous. Even more so are people if they make fun of Henry despite the fact that hes using his hobbies and his acting talent to fulfill a role such as Geralt - and getting paid millions to do a job that he likes xD
I just don't understand these people in what world they live in. Normal people have hobbies. Gaming is a hobby. Why the fuck is TV/Show/Movie industry making it like we are alien or something
I feel like some people make fun of Henry for his hobbies, but honestly I'm so happy that someone like him is being so cool about the way people ask him questions. He's such a great ambassador for the nerdier hobbies, even if he isn't meaning to be. Sounds like Tom Holland is on board for some Warhammer!
Well Tom Holland may be Spiderman. But hes getting a taste of how a person with passion with source material can bring a whole new aspect into the role and fandom of comics and games going into movies.
Yeah, Graham was kind of a dick about it... I get that it's not his thing, Warhammer isn't even mine. But there isas much art and craft in a Warhammer battle set than in one of Graham's suit. Getting more open-minded about other people interests would make him a better host.
It's Graham Norton. He makes fun of everyone's everything. At least now Graham has more material than just pulling up funny candids of people decompressing after a long day of shoots. Cough all of Hollywood.

Yo, Henry is in another plain of existence with how well he's portraying Geralt right now. Exactly what we asked for in this role and he and the rest of the cast are delivering on another level. They're all amazing.
this is why people love Henry... he's a huge nerd, loves his material, knows his fantasy worlds, and doesn't bat an eye. To all the normies that think gaming, Warhammer, etc, is a huge waste of time... he says eff em. Politely.
In fact, he doesn’t say eff em, he understands their point of view. He doesn’t stand on a high horse. He’s happy to share his interests and engage in the interests of others. He literally is the perfect Superman…unfortunately Zack Snyder can’t write for shit.
It is a huge waste of time. Because most people don’t just treat it like a hobby. It becomes an addiction. Took my roommate years to break free. You think she looks fondly at the 1000’s of hours spent, with nothing to show for it?
@@durandal4546 Seriously true, I love playing videogames as a hobby but when depression and mental illness kicks in it can make the hobby a crippling dependency for feeling normal.
It says a lot about a man when he overcomes his own insecurities and is comfortable about showing his nerdy side this openly, politely and without being super awkward about it. He's genuinely just answering questions clearly meant to make him look a bit silly - but he's doing it with such class that people just end up respecting him more. It's good to see that he's not trying to change for any "Hollywood standards". EDIT: lol, the sheer amount of angry replies from people that think Henry Cavill has the looks and thus lacks insecurities or that he's "nerd privileged"... He's human and yes, I do believe going against the norms (in "Hollywood" in his case) and opening up about nerdy things that make you happy is brave. No amount of chiseled jaw can change the fact that deep down you're afraid of being rejected and mocked by people you want as your peers. Trust me, I'm a handsome little boy myself - my mum has ensured me of that.
Yeah, and full credit to Tom aswell for jumping in to support like "Can I come, it sounds awesome", would have made Henry feel a little less signled out.
Tbf, when you look like Henry Cavil, with a career like he has had, it would be silly to be insecure. Though I suppose the more you have the more insecure you can feel.
I think he attracts questions meant to make him look a bit silly. He's so unflappable and perfect and handles them with such class and humour. It's a sport, really.
Watching this, it doesn't surprise me he quit. Season 2 already had no resemblance to the source material anymore past the first episode, and then there's also the news that even writers disliked the books + games. He's a knight in shining armor, standing up for his beliefs and the fanbase! The Witcher will crash and burn without him, and I'm not sure how Netflix didn't realize this. They had a gem in their hands with the Witcher material.
That he's now announced to be the creator and director on a Warhammer series, for Amazon is a blow too. That shows they could have avoided this and offered him more creative power and saved the series, as he feels ready and is clearly naturally built for such a role. I suspect the devisive woke moaners may have been having a meltdown and spoiling the source materials gritty character, just as they're attempting to do to any semblance of logical thinking in the wider world.

It's so evident that in the typical Hollywood culture, there is this kind of jeering dismissal of nerdy hobbies like gaming and fantasy novels. Graham seems genuine and wants to understand, but I've seen it happen with some of the other late night hosts who seem to think that these hobbies are only for antisocial basement dwellers. When Holland asks if he can come over, Cavill’s “yeah!” isn’t just politeness, he literally wants to introduce the game/hobby to someone new. And when you’ve got as much money as either of them, buying a full army of units (or whatever the Warhammer terms are, legion? battalion? squadron?) is no big deal.
Units are the groupings of same/similar models (a unit of ten Space Marines) in a larger army. Older editions had formations, and every edition separates units into types (troops, elites, fast attack, etc.) They have the money to buy whole professionally painted armies, but Henry Cavil doesn't seem like the type to skip the building/painting. Tom might.
Tbh I can barely get through the learning curve of Warhammer rules. At least from what I've seen from him, teaching those rules to Holland would be hard no offense to him but the game can be very complicated sometimes lmfao
It's funny because they make him sound like the nerd and it's cool, but he is probably the most down to earth of everyone on the panel and most people in the celebrity scene.
I have always told myself to never put any human being on a pedestal because eventually you will get disappointed but with Henry Cavill I have to make an exception. I can't help it. He seems like such a good person and easy on the eyes to boot! I genuinely wish him the best of life.
I understand what you are saying. I still remember Arnold saying "screw your freedom" and other similarly retarded statements and decided to never put anyone on a pedestal, only The Lord.
Me and a mate met him on a night out on his home island, and he couldn’t of been a nicer guy. He took time for a chat and even a beer in this bar with us. People think most actors are stuck up and unapproachable, Henry couldn’t be further from this. Brilliant guy!
This is why people love him. Fan recognizes fan. He is as passionate about the characters as any fan and dude is so down to earth and amazing as superman or anything else he does.
I’m so glad he was trying to be loyal to the the source material, and I respect his tenacity to not waver in integrity to that. It’s an absolute shame the show turned into what it is and ended up losing him.
I love how the host subtly tried to slam Henry Cavil for "playing with toys" and being a nerd and Tom Holland was just like Nah Invite Me Over dude it sounds fun
I'd say it was on the fun side still. Obviously nerd culture came a huge way, but for me, not knowing the talkshow or the host all too well, and this is just me guessing, it seems like this type of media isn't what the audience is accustomed to, so the host does a really good job catering to his audience while not being too demeaning. As for other people throwing shade, well, that's always gonna happen as long as people are bored, envious or a straight-up net negative.
Nobody is throwing shade at Henry for being "nerdy". They are acting surprised at a non-Nerdy guy enjoying what the 1990's considered nerdy hobbies. Gaming is mainstream now. Fantasy is mainstream now. Normal people do it. Not just basement dwellers. For some reason, MSM hasn't caught up with it yet.
The way Graham's edging for Henry to talk about Warhammer is hilarious! "So after you've painted them, Henry what do you do then?" LOL you can just see how Henry smiled and knows exactly what Graham was doing to him 🤣

@@bigpapa1954 Yes, i think they wanted to make a mix out of books, games and fanfiction and it perconally didn't convince me. Basically, I would love to see Henry doing a lore / story / nerd talk with any of the luminaries on CZcams, from Bruva Alphabusa to Wolf Lord Rho and everyone in between. That being said, which Primarch should Henry play? His features are quite the "patrician stoic" so he could pull a good Roboute or Rogal, but I would love him as pull an unconventional choice e.g. with some CGI magic for baldness, he could do an amazing Lorgar.
Cavill is the average geek/gamers icon as far as living a normal life in society with your hobbies out for anyone to see. I mean, obviously his exceptionally good looks, physique, and fame is the stuff that completely sways anyone outside of the hobby to admire him, but the fact he doesn't bother to hide it is brilliant. In fact, it seems like he almost throws shade at people who do try to undermine his hobbies. Sort of like a reality check on the people who don't understand how big and accepted these hobbies really are, in a "you been living under a rock for the last decade?" sort of way. Good on him for that.
I mean, "do you paint World of Warcraft" does somewhat come across as "have you been living under a rock" for me. Not knowing Warhammer is one thing, not knowing World of Warcraft is a video game?? Entirely another. :D Pretty sure Graham was poking fun but still.
I'd say a lot of this "nerdy" stuff has long gone from being a hobby for fat neckbeards. When I sit at my LGS playing Magic I sometimes watch the passers-by outside the window... quite a lot of young women stop to stare inside, and no wonder. Always plenty of attractive young guys in there with me, playing cards or tabletop-games. Older dudes like me are definitely a minority in the gaming world - at least for now, until all these youngsters come back with their kids in a few years :)
You can't call yourself a nerd and say that you don't like correcting people when they make incorrect statements; no matter how pedantic or petty it may be. It's like some defense mechanism that I suspect is a byproduct of Dunning-Kruger Syndrome.
i think the exact reason why the show was sucessful was Henry was Geralt, him having as a popular actor especially on his iconic role as a superman, adding the fact that he has "nerd" side like the most of the gaming or pop culture community, really gave way for people to really embraced it...
I like how its always, "They were books and games first" always making a point that Netflix didn't magic this out of thin air and make it a success. This whole universe existed before hand. Also can somebody please just put Tom and Henry in his house and have them painting Warhammer figures and taking shots every time the other one finishes. Please.
Henry being one of the youngest brothers in his home and accepting bloodshed as part of growing up, and Tom being the oldest and having Marvel hire one of his younger brothers to see what it feels like to do a particular stunt is so telling of birth order dynamics lol

He was right😀 Loved s01 and how he portrayed Geralt. So I decided to watch some interviews and such to find out a little more about him. First one I stumbled upon was the one he was talking about almost missing his call from Snyder about the Superman role because he was raiding on WoW. That interview turned my opinion on him around and called me out bad on my biast opinion. I truly stand corrected.
Once upon a time i absolutely despised the casting of heath ledger as joker for the same reason. And then I was DRAMATICALLY proven wrong. Ever since I dont judge casting til i see it myseld
Henry helping to keep actors and actresses honest about the witcher series is the saving grace of the show. They deviate from the books a good bit and most of the actresses and actors besides Henry don't really understand their book counterparts very well and what the motivations, emotions, reasoning, and aspirations their character have. They know of their characters, but they don't love them or fully understand them. I hope this changed in season 2 due to Henry's great passion, and I hope they have learned from example.

Imitation isn't easy, but this guy did it top notch and gave the character a whole new breath to it. Well done, Cavill! Wish you would stick around for season 4.
What I love about Cavill is that he stays true to himself. Like he doesn't lie about himself being a nerd, play video games and painting figurines. He didn't let his career change him and that is what admire him the most, he is good-looking, jacked, honest, modest and very sincere.
There is something really telling here, Henry Cavill gets what he is saying. He knows and is passionate about what he's doing. Moreover, rather than claiming the success of the series for himself, he attributes the success of the series to the dedicated fans, and the production of Netflix. Series one is really problematic, but it is enjoyable. This man cares about what he's doing, and shows humility for the successes him and his peers have made. This is the same reason why I like actors like Viggo Mortensen. It's really great to see people who elevate the craft by bringing others up rather than pushing others down to make themselves look better.
@@SlimThrull The series isn't necessarily true to the lore, even by normal re-formatting standards. There are some character backgrounds that aren't lore-accurate (some of which should have been left ambiguous), the episodes can seem kind of hap-hazard if you haven't read the books (which will hopefully change now when they take on the "real" story), and several of the characters in the series break with the established aesthetics and characteristics of samesaid characters both in lore and in game. For a sort of gatekeeper-nerd, of which I consider myself, though the actors in the series are good and Cavill is a godsend, it kind of breaks immersion when it diverts this much from close to decades-old established lore, and not in a reasonable way as in (early-to-mid) GoT, The series almost borders on "inspired by" rather than "based on", if you catch my drift.

@@SlimThrull I have read, and am reading the books through to the first chapter of Blood of Elves. I have also played the third game and seen bits of the first 2. The games do a much better job of capturing the tone in the books. The first season of the show is a bit tone deaf at times, and misses the mark. Also some of the story changes made from the books are really stretching. In particular Ciri and the whole part in Brokilon is vastly different in the show than in the books. I'd say the first 5 episodes of the show are fine, despite their errors from the books, but 6 onwards is too much changed. I understand changes made for the sake of adaptation, but these are fundamental story changes that were made. I appreciate that Cavill wants to keep Geralt book accurate.
@@candersson60 In particular with Brokilon and Borch, those chapters in the book are way better. And the Show's version of Eyck is a parody, and a joke. Eyck is haughty in the book, but he isn't braindead.

You'd think that people are relatively open minded and more aware about strategic battle games (as they are with something like DnD), yet you see shit like this. Them laughing at Cavill for "playing with toys." It's just weird to think that here they treat tabletop games as some weird abnormal thing, when the majority of people you'd meet online wouldn't think much of it.

The jokes at Henry's(and every nerd's) expense here is based on the idea that nerdy hobbies are weird and funny.. It feels very detached. I mean world of warcraft has been a cultural phenomenon and for 15+ years and this man working in journalism seems to have no clue what it is. That migh be fine, he doesn't have to follow that part of culture, but then he really has no business doing these sorta interviews imo.
I really think its jealousy. I mean who doesnt look back on their childhood when your imagination is so active you can have mock battles with toy soldiers and feel like it is real, or pretend to be knights saving someone or whatever? they hear someone playing a game like this and are jealous they can still achieve something like that joy. I personally have never played Warhammer or DnD, closest ive come is total war third age, but thats how I see it.
The gap is closing. Comic book adaptations, younger generations consuming anime and Manga. While Cavill may be an oddity to his older peers, he's normal to the younger generation.
Somebody else said it; I will repeat it. We need a regular live podcast/stream of Warhammer/40k. A group of people playing a full length campaign using the figures. Henry, Tom, and whoever can pop in for an episode or more whenever they have time...
This is why I love Henry Cavil. The first 30 seconds are like "You did this. This show is great because of you as the main character" and he just says effectivly "Nah, if it wasnt for the publisher and the fans this thing would never have become as big as it was" Not only is he a fan of the games, consumed the book nights before attenting his role as Geralt, is a PC over Console enthusiast but also humbe af. Love the man.
I don’t know if this was intentional, but Tom saying, “can I come and play” was really nice of him to say that. Graham was poking fun at Cavill for liking nerdy stuff, which is whatever. But I feel Cavill kinda felt weird about it when Graham was pointing fun at it. So I would like to believe Tom caught sign of that, and wanted to make light of the situation to divert the attention of further joking about Cavill’s hobby. I may be looking into it a lot, but if it’s true, makes me respect Tom more. Really down to earth guy he seems
Agree. And I don't really like what Graham did. Sometimes we deeply love some nerdy stuff or whatever. It is not very good when people don't respect what we love.
Honestly I think half of people watching would just love to have a hobby like that. You can't finish a. Days work, go home and watch TV for a few hours then go to bed, then make fun of people who go home and have something to do that they're passionate about. I envy those who have something to do that they love instead of distracting themselves doing things like watching CZcams videos
It was fun and endearing and atrocious all at once, since it took him the better part of a day to get it up and running. That being said, it brings him much closer to the average person than other celebrities who could have e.g. phoned Linus and arranged for a celebrity sprinkle and endorsement while Linus and co. made them a custom behemoth machine.
Henry being "effusive" about being loyal to the source material is the rock that the success of the show was built on. Without him being that rock, the audience would've torn a less diligent Witcher production apart. People like him, who know and value the source, are the reason for the recent ability of game-based shows to succeed. (And might I add in the instance of Arcane, massively so.)
Except the show strays quite alot from the source materal.. But you can see it in his eyes.. He isnt fond of that.. And thats why he reminds people to read the books or play the game instead.
Stupid Witcher Netflix writers had the perfect actor that can portray the character perfectly AND know the lore of the source of the show (Witcher). And they proceed to shit on the source material and make an absolute clownfest of it. No wonder Caville left.
Its hilarious and kind of wholesome watching him go from serious actor mode to Witcher nerd in under a second to give a detailed breakdown of witcher lore.
Love Tom Holland even more now. Perhaps unintentionally, Graham had kind of made Henry Cavill look rather childish with the way he had phrased his questions and comments, and for a moment when Graham asked "Do you invite people over" I was hoping he'd go one step further and say "Could I play?" and end the subject on a mutually respectful note, but he didn't. Then Tom did, and I love him immensely for that.
It was extremely intentional from Graham, making fun of geeky hobbies is always an easy laugh. Why do you think he followed Tom's comment up with 'the girls are like, ya don't ask us to come'. Pretty disrespectful tbh. Sure, society sees it as childlike - but that doesn't mean you have to make the joke. Many in society still think being gay is funny, doesn't mean you crack a joke about a guest being gay.
@@Nemtrac5 Graham has joked about being gay as well, it's not that deep. People understand that jokes are jokes and nobody's trying to offend or ridicule anyone. Welcome to Europe.
@@Colphin Graham Norton is gay himself, so that's a bit different. There's also a difference between standup jokes and interview jokes. Idk just seems weird when there isn't anything really creative to the joke just 'haha you like this thing and others don't so it's funny'. To non-sport nerds, obsessing over sports and watching 10 different shows talking about it is silly - but a joke just mocking sports fans wouldn't land because it is socially accepted
🤔 Hmm it's almost as if when the writers have no respect for an IP it drives away the people who actually care for the project. But I'm sure that would never happen with Henry and the Witcher... 👀
@@bitchface235 he was a great actor and really commited to his source material. He was a huge Tolkien fan and probably knew more about the books than Peter Jackson. And I loved him in the Prequels. He had the balls to just say no and walk away.

He sure did, we need more people of integrity in Hollywood.
It’s such a bittersweet feeling, knowing that there won’t be more of his Witcher but being thankful that it’s not going to be ruined either.
He hasn't said that's why he walked away though.
Absolute shame that a guy like Henry, loyal to the source material, has to leave this project.. Well done, Netflix!
Yea, Henry should’ve been showrunner as well.
@@WhoTookPlockrock they were saying that even before season 1, but no one gave a shit until Cavil left. every REAL fan knew it was gonna be shit.
It's so goddamned weird. I keep thinking man.... he does not look the part....

Cavil was the best possible choice for playing the Witcher. He's been doing so with perfection. Can't imagine anyone else playing Geralt. Loved the books, the games and the series.
When Dan Cooke and even the author are not only approving but impressed with how you play Geralt, that's perfection right there

Watching this, it doesn't surprise me he quit. Season 2 already had no resemblance to the source material anymore past the first episode, and then there's also the news that even writers disliked the books + games. I like how Henry really wanted to correct him and say "it's not a tree lady, it's a Leshen you newblet"

untranslatable. Leshen sounds more like LoL character or something like that, cute.

On a sidenote, I could never get used to the name 'Dumbledore' in Harry Potter. To me, it was nothing compared to the Dutch 'Perkamentus', which sounded far more fitting for his role as an old, grand wizard.

When he's doing it, he isn't correcting people, he's "educating" them, which is entirely a different thing....
I must say, I appreciate how Graham brings out Henry's inner nerd, particularly at 6:47 and onwards, and he handles the questions with his usual style and charm. I bet he's a lot of fun to hang out with!
I'm glad this guy is Geralt. I'm sure he has corrected the director on how things should go to make the story more close to the original books. I heard the fighting sequence in season 1 was great thanks to him. He contacted a friend who was a choreographer in fighting scenes and did it for free. I don’t have much time to read books, but I LOVE the series!
But I get what you mean. I regret reading The Horsewhisperer before I saw the movie, because in stead of fully enjoying the great movie, I was constantly making comparisons.
Same with the 50 Shades of Grey, where I liked the books but all movies sucked!
@@bigpapa1954 Yes, i think they wanted to make a mix out of books, games and fanfiction and it perconally didn't convince me. I mean, too many things are too far from the original that it just doesn't make sense as a whole. And the cast is 50/50 i don't think that the cast is a good representation of the original characters, but there are some exceptions, such as Henry and Joey, who did a wonderful job in my opinion. They read the books and it shows.
I don't really like season 2, (for me the first season was passable, it was okay), but i like the views, some characters and the MUSIC expecially, that's what I watched it for. Those ballads are amasing.

That would be 4 hours of amazing internet content! Warhammer should hire him as a spokesman and have him teach tom! They would not be able to crank out figs fast enough!

Facts!

You can see in hindsight there were clearly disagreements between Cavill and the writers
I like how its always, "They were books and games first" always making a point that Netflix didn't magic this out of thin air and make it a success. This whole universe existed before hand.
Also can somebody please just put Tom and Henry in his house and have them painting Warhammer figures and taking shots every time the other one finishes. Please.

That interview turned my opinion on him around and called me out bad on my biast opinion. I truly stand corrected.
He was honestly the most surprising thing about the series. He really portrayed the character extremely well.

Mr. Cavill WAS Geralt of Rivia. Another brilliant move by Netlix, thumbing their nose at the fans and Mr. Sapkowski's brilliant work.
Unfortunately in season 2 this did not happen... It's even worse.
In the first season I loved Jaskier, Yennefer and Tissaia. I felt they played their characters very well.
@@haaly7245 yah i agree, but it's beyond that , it's like game of thrones season 8 , the visual effects good, acting very good, music also good, it's just about writing.
Season 2 just brought me pain - lots and lots of pain and I really don't know how Henry could not only endure, but play a role in this hell of a butchered script. I really love and appreciate him as Geralt, I really love Jaskier and Ciri is also ok, but the rest... what I do like about the second season: The wigs got a lot better and the special effects too.
@@beepadipeep Yeah, that's the point the entire cast is lacking (apart from Geralt, Jaskier and Ciri, let's see if she can develop a 'cruel' side later). Story wise makes no sense at all, they even killed a character that play a major role in entire series of books and games.
I was concerned with Henry being cast as Geralt of Rivia before season 1. Now looking back, I am so glad that they picked him because is a real fan of the Witcher franchise and there is absolutely no substitute for that. He really cares about it and wants to make faithful to the source (as much as possible in adaptation)

Why do you think series one is problematic? I saw the first few episodes, but have neither read the books nor played the games.
Take notes to the actors or actresses who think they're the best version of a character on the screen and attack anyone online who says otherwise...not saying any names or anything, but just saying

I mean I play 40k and it is 100 percent playing with toys lmao.

Zwein is absoutely in the right here..

Henry being "effusive" about being loyal to the source material is the rock that the success of the show was built on.
Without him being that rock, the audience would've torn a less diligent Witcher production apart.

I was thinking the same ..! It's not the first time I see him doing such things, he is so nice !
