Based on the bestselling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Be among the first to get the exclusive scoop on the highly anticipated Netflix original series centering on famed monster hunter Geralt of Rivia. Be introduced to the world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil are not easily identified.

@@hanniffydinn6019 i was waiting for someone to say that!!!!! Thank you
Was not hyped for the show. Knew it was coming out. But the trailers really made it feel like a very low budget fantasy show.
Also never read or played anything in the Witcher universe.
Saw the show. I'm on episode 5 it's freaking amazing. Bought all the games now. If they really are sooooo much better then the show. Then I know I'll love them.
Literally was not expecting to like the show this much.
@@hanniffydinn6019 ay ay leave LOTR out of this cuz that was still legendary!
After watching the show, I'm kinda mad that Jaskier's actor Joey Batey was not in a lot of these panels. He sounded like a really stand up guy from the small number of interviews that I found, and he and Henry really made the show for me with Geralt and Jaskier bbf interactions. Hoping he gets more recognition for next season.
Same. Although I loved all the cast I was hoping he would be in this since it's Comic Con. Hopefully, if the show does keep going he'll be there next time.
The two of them are what sealed the show for me. Toss a coin to your Witcher at the end of episode 2 blew me away.
@@fishstickparty yeah, it's been stuck in my head for the last 3 days now. 😄
Totally agree with you!
I think that they staged only these 3 as they are the main characters of the show. I bet in the future that he'll be added on as time progresses.
I have not heard of an Actor being this passionate for a role as Cavil is since Vigo as Aragorn.
funny you would make the comparison, hearing Henry talk about his training with swords reminded me of a story i recently heard, about Vigo allways taking his sword with him whereever he went, even walking on the sidewalk.
@@Olochgu I feel like any actor that plays a character like this in a fantasy should take notes from Viggo. That guy did everything in his power to bring to life Aragorn. Henry does sound like a dude willing to spend 24/7 on perfecting a talent, and I am excited to see how passionate he is.
Thats why he was awesome as Superman :)
He will be a amazing Geralt!

This host talked to Freya like she was a small animal.
She was only 17 at the time and the host was past 40 so I dont blame her
The hostess is annoying.

It's crazy how Henry is bigger as Geralt than he was as Superman.
Should've focused on lean muscle, not size. Geralt went without food even days. This isn't a hungry ripped witcher.
eh, i dont see that so much. he is more vascular as geralt. in superman he was pushing 250lbs and bulking a whole lot
Mike P geralts mutations mean his metabolism is incredibly slow, hence why Witcher’s age so slowly. He would still be ripped and sometimes go without food and not wither away
tbf, witcher geralt would beat superman in a fight, at least, my insanely OP potions build would
@@Luka2023- He's still way too buff. According to the books he's rather slim, medium build.

The inner Superman jumped out.

Freya Allan attended Headington School, the same school as Harry Potter star Emma Watson."
She's not kidding at all
Funny thing is I definitely can see Geralt saying that as well. He reprimanded Ciri quite a few times for not listening to Vesemir (a teacher figure, for those unaware)
Can I just say, yennefer was a great cast. She sold that character very very well.
She's a good actress, but no way should have been cast as Yennefer. They must be trying to meet some diversity requirement. Attractive, but even the game version is 10 times prettier than this lady. t's a shame they couldn't find someone with Anya's acting ability and Meghan Fox's looks to pull off the Yennefere character.
I actually thought that about Freya; she played a fantastic Ciri. But yea Yen was great too; the casting all around was excellent
@@UnIockables I like Yennefer's casting, I think that Freya seemed a bit too old. Given how they try to make her look younger but I still think she sounds and acts like an 18 year old, not a 15 year old. Its also important to note, child actors are hard to come by, so they had to choose someone who could pull off 17 and look young and can actually act.
@@darlenelopez5632 Wow I dont know why they try to ever make shows on established IPs, when fanbase are more often than not, toxic critics that can never be pleased.

Louis Valencia I actually think that Anya was as nervous as Freya. Freya even came across more confident in explaining her character. I don’t mean that Anya doesn’t know about Yennefer, she clearly does, but I think she was intimidated by the audience and the spotlight, which is why her explanations seemed kind of unclear at some parts.

Hardest part of being a gym guy is the food and not the actual gym :(
He doesn't game all the time. From what I remember, it was either when he was younger or when he's between jobs. You don't have that much (real) downtime when shooting and he indeed has to train a lot. I guess the good news is that he can set some days aside to totally game.
it can deffiently be done i have done its really not that hard if you love training and gaming
Jonny Patterson it’s also not hard when you have the best personal trainers, nutritionists and steroids money can buy
Like how they say, "lets talk to the beautiful fearsome ladies." And henry turns to Anya right away. Also when they ask the girls a hard or stupid question you can see Henry starts fidgeting. He just wants to protect his fellow costars.
i dont like the question being asked on 11:58. The actress Anya didnt know how to respond because she did not want to give any spoilers. This made her look like she didnt know the character which is obviously not the case. I dont get it what was the host expecting her to say. The answer is a small spoiler which in the end anya hat to say because there was nothing else to say. I watched few interviews with the cast and for the most part the hosts were terrible. Its either sex jokes for Henry or dumb questions for the Girls.
I thought the hostess was awful, not just for her questions.

This. There's no way to answer that without giving out spoilers. The way the host asked the question was so specific that it cornered her, she kept pushing the issue too. Like... what the heck.
when I heard that reporter talk about having images of henry in her head and obviously hinted they were sexual I thought that if a male reporter had said that to a female actress he would absolutely have been shamed and called a creep and would have had to at the least make a public apology or he wouldn't have a job, that is the double standard world we live in

Right, the commitment he put on being geralt is superb. I binged "The Witcher" in one day. Went in oggling Cavill's The Witcher and came away stanning Yennefer by the end of the 8th episode; and the actress who played Tissaia was amazing. I also loved the actor who played Istredd. Her story arc involved some of the best acting in the series. Loved it. Love her. Anya is talented as all get out.
Absolutely agree, Anya’s before and after transformation and trying to convey many centuries lived was incredible for such a young actress to portray but she nailed it as Yennifer.
Agreed. Of the three main characters, only Yennefer developed her story from the first episode till the last. I feel like Geralt and Ciri didn´t grow much at all. Not complaining, they´ll have their turn but Yen´s story was excellent.

@@coolsteve1342 yes, indeed. I would love that.
he is I only realize that when I see him next to someone especially when he's next to girls here
12:10 Anya dodged that question so good..matrix style😂
The interviewer was pathetic as hell
funny enough she answered the question but didn’t spoil anything like DAMN she did that
I was skeptical of the casting for each character but Anya really killed it, her ending scene was so beautiful. very very talented actor who definitely progressed her character beautifully.
Does anyone else think that the moderator talks really inappropriately towards Henry? Just imagine it was a man talking to an actress like this. She probably thinks that when she is a black woman she can talk like this, but I imagine it must be very demeaning for Henry to be treated like an sexual object.
Don't think guys actually care. Never met a guy who would feel bad about it
In a world without pc bullshit that way of talking is cool
Yeah, I was waiting for Henry to call her out for her "Objectifying" him.
Guys are usually flattered by being "objectified" (what a stupid word), not offended. As it should be.
Men tend to take these things as compliments and women usually are insulted or creeped out. There of course some people that feel differently but I'm talking about the majority. It's in our DNA that men like to show off their body and everything. Women don't have this.
All I can say is anya chalotra the best actress in this series she did excellent best acting ...I can't wait see her again in season 2
I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed how Henry Cavill just looks at Anya everytime. And their smiles are so sweet.
Yea I noticed that everytime 🤧😍
They have insane chemistry 😍
I get that she's trying to be "funny" but the way that she is talking about Cavill is right out disgusting.
Aurelius Hold on, was it Anya or the host?
The host. Personally I dont find it disgusting I find it normal. Very awkward and she should be way more professional but hey that's how a lot of women probably feel about him. My issue is if it was a guy up there horning and saying the same stuff to Anya for example then hed be slated and dragged through the dirt. I've no problem with men or women having these dirty fantasies towards people they see on screen but 1. Atleast when you're the host, meep it professional in this setting and 2. It cant be 1 rule for one group and another rule for the others. If women are able to act and talk like this about men and we can see it's just weird but OKAY then it should be the same for men when speaking about women. But now adays that's not the way it is.
@@biancamendoza7079 The host, its like non stop. Like one joke, fine but shit put it to bed.
@@AureliusCloric I think she wanted to something with a bed. And her lusting like a teenager was really uncomfortable and unprofessional, and quite graphic.
@Jo Sephine I disagree, hotness is not an excuse to be so appallingly unprofessional. However I do understand that people tend to let others get away with crap cause they are attractive.
Freya looks so shy lmao. Understandable tho.
She is nervous :)
Yeah I mean she's young and being thrust into the spotlight for her first big role. Can't imagine how nerve-wracking that is. She'll get used to it eventually.
yeah also the way she walked when she entered was kinda stiff
yeah also the way she walked when she entered was kinda stiff
Understandable? Like it's something bad that needs to be excused. I love shy girls, they are typically more innocent.
Happy for Cavill. He gets to play one of his favorite characters since IIRC he read and played the Witcher. Humble man too, big respect
Happy for him and terrible for us
@@s1nedrion188 "terrible for us". Oh no! An actor who knows _literally everything about the character he's portraying_ and who's going to stay true to the books! What a tragedy! Just get out of here man. Cavill is the sole reason I, as a witcher fan, am excited for this show.
Серый Житель dick ed
Anyone catch the eyebrow raise from henry when the interviewer said "male lens"? He was like, "what does gender issues have to do with anything we are talking about here"? -18:15
And shes the one who was harassing him the whole time lol
Good work by Lauren Schmidt to breeze right past that as well
@@nesaiamon8727 Absolutely!
yes she was pushing patriarchy so much. I was like chill out. Honestly if a book happens to have a man in focus its sexism but as soon as women step into focus its powerful and strong. This show shouldnt be about powerful women but instead powerful INDIVIDUALS on a journey.

It's hard to focus on anyone else cuz Yennefer is gorgeous...
Absolutely love hearing Henry talk about Geralt and what makes him tick and his relationship with Roach.... just beautiful. I can see why Lauren had cast him for the iconic role. He possesses a deep understanding of our favorite witcher and that instills more confidence he is going to bring our beloved Geralt to life. I cannot wait for this show!!!! Thank you for this video!
Yeah, Henry understands Geralt so well, his summary of Garold's moral compass was so spot on. I feel like listening to a passionate dude who just loves the source material.

Freya is so mature in the way she speaks and describe really complicated things
The announcer is disgusting. Constantly talking about Henry in a sexual manner like he is some piece of meat. If the roles would be flipped the backlash would be huge
"double standards towards men doesn't exist" is what they always think
Thing is even if i was host id talk about cavill like that lol
She ain't wrong an I'm a guy
@@cookj6899 I didn't say she was wrong I just said that if the roles would be flipped it would be considered sexist I wouldn't mind if she said it once that he is sexy (which he is) but constantly talking in a sexual manner while you can see that Cavill doesn't feel comfortable isn't right
I honestly I have zero problem with women saying that kind of thing. She's not treating him like a piece of meat, she's just joking about him being attractive. Which should be fine, in my opinion. The problem is the utter double standard. If a man said something like he'd 100% be branded as a predatory creep, and would be accused of sexual harassment.
*4:51**, only fans of the series can explains "What is a Witcher?". And thankfully, Henry Cavill is one. Meaning no other high paid actors can truly understand Geralt as deep as Henry.*
Anya was the best in the series. She was amazing!
If a man was interviewing the cast and kept mentioning Anya Chalotra's physical appearance and how attractive she was and how he'd dreamed about her there would be a lot more SJW videos on CZcams right now.
Men don't mind being objectified. It's different for guys. If an attractive teacher hooks up with a male student he isn't traumatized but that might be different for a female. Men and women a wired differently.
Al mac I think that’s a blatant generalization, that can be dangerous to say, because of how it ignores the situations of trauma that men experience but is not talked about. I personally think guys have just been told and expected by women and other men to tough out more situations
@@TheOnlyWay2Go. I think that generalization is not 100% true but it is probably true in about 95% of cases. I was in a bar and I was pinned to the wall by a very aggressive woman who shoved her hands down my pants but I wasn't traumatised at all. It was just a fun story to tell my mates. If the roles were reversed a male would probably end up in jail for that kind of behaviour but I think it is different for most guys. I am not talking about priests abusing kids but any semi-attractive female objectifying or aggressively pursuing males. I can't speak for all males but I know I wouldn't be offended.
@@TheOnlyWay2Go. its a generalisation but it is more true than untrue. The amount of comments under certain videos where the guys male comments like 'that lucky bastard' ' she could harass me anyday' or 'why don't I go to a school like that' etc. I was surprised, but the only people who stood against it were women in the comments. I played it off as a motherly instinct to protect while the guys were having some teen hormone surge. This was years ago btw. I feel like more guys now have finally started to realise that these comments make it hard for men who really do suffer and that men can be victims too.
Through experience I feel like the reason women are so receptive or sensitive to sexual comments is because they feel unsafe or its demeaning. We attach things such as sex to emotions alot and so comments can come out disgusting or nasty to us than it does for guys. Cause again guys see sex differently. So there you go..there are many factors that determine how women and men in GENERAL respond to sexual comments.
@@almac9203 Still. I'd think there is a line of professionalism and social decency that should be respected during the panel (and in all professional/semi professional environments), for both sexes.
Men being expected to uphold the rule of decency to the letter while women can objectify and be horny towards men because men don't feel threatened by it is the definition of a double standard, even if a (usually) harmless one.

*Im surprise how well Henry describe the witcher, clearly he passionate with the books and games so much.*
I feel nervous when it time for Anya to speak lol
I’m three episodes in. Cavill IS Geralt. It’s eerie. Love Anya as Yennefer. She’s really capturing the duality of the character well and I hope she keeps it up. Still not sold on Freya as Ciri, but it’s early on and I’m hoping her character gets a bit more to do. A lot of people are ragging the show for cheesy fantasy dialogue and music, but that’s INTENTIONAL. The Witcher is classic high fantasy. Just embrace it. I respect the producers for not pandering to mainstream audiences. They just throw you right in.
I'm not gonna say I hate it or anything like that, I'm okay with it, but just imagine a male host talking to an actress like that, lol. All hell would break lose on the internet.
But all that aside, the show looks amazing, can't wait to watch it!
Put respect on Helen’s name.
Yeh the host was making me cringe bigtime
Seemed like a generic host who doesn’t really know anything about the show. Also cringey when Lauren starts talking about seeing through Geralt’s lens, the host interjects with “a male lens” and Lauren is just like well yeah ok but not what I’m talking about here
It's because in our culture Women can get away with way much more than they would like to admit to.
Talk like what? She didn't say anything inappropriate you're just looking for something to complain about pEeCeE cUlTuRe. Geez the comments under anything relating to this show are annoying
*THAT'S THE LION CUB OF CINTRA IF I'VE EVER SEEN HER*
WITCH-AAAA!!!
Freya seems like such a sweetheart. I can't wait to see her as Ciri.
Anya will make and has made an amazing Yennefer, all those coming for her in this 5 month PRE-SHOW interview, which was probably one of her first major interviews fresh out of drama school, are idiotic. It's funny, all of the critiques of her is always nitpicking at her appearance or some obscure thing, but never about her actual ability to portray and act as Yennefer, which leads me to believe none of you actually have a problem. you're just mad she isn't white.
I wasn't mad but there some avid fans of the book and game who are sick of characters being changed simply for trying to be pc and for diversity
@Elvira but it was based off polish Eastern European lore and the director completely shit on the source material to get woke virtual points I don’t have a problem with diversity especially diversity of opinion
@@petershury7135 It’s really not that deep. The show, books and games are never going to be the same as each other.
