I love how Henry is just constantly praising them. Honestly he's just an incredible person.
Noticed that too, while he is the best actor of the 4 in my opninion he just focusses on their accomplishments. Great guy.
Yeah, I see it in the way that now they are acting in such a big show with a massive fanbase for the first time in such a level as lead roles. I think you would sometimes doubt yourself especially if you focus on negative attacks. He probably knows this from his past experience and lifts them up because he knows that they are good. Reminds me of the imposter syndrome that PhD students go through but on a more massive scale with millions of people watching your every move.
why do i read he's horrible on set?
Hes hot, strong, rich, and famous. He has no reason to be petty lol
Call me cautious. But i feel somthing off about him.
When Ciri's family began to disappear the first thing I noticed was Emhyr did not fade like Pavetta did, I thought it was a nice, subtle touch to what was to come
Yea I realized that too and thought it was a good hint
I thought his name was duny?
@@rowangalloway393 its an alias after he was turned into the hedgehog like creature by the Sorcerer Braathens
OH I did notice his lack of fading compared to Pavetta at time but didn’t draw that line! Great observation!
Knew but noticed it immediately and thought it was a subtle nod indeed.
Henry is like us, but better looking, more articulate, generous and charming. And this is why we love him.
He's a neckbeard without any of the drawbacks
I support Mr. Cahills remarks to know the books. Without reading the book,s I would have no idea about Yennefers skills in magic. In the series it is hard to find and understand why she is the best. I wish, the directors would show that better.
Couldn't agree more ...love Henry, how can anyone not 🤍
Speak for yourself
"like us" ... the "but" argumments just killed any similarity we could claim haha
The way Henry looks at all of them when they're talking about they're characters, especially Anya, you can tell how much he respects them as performers.

I think my favorite scene was with Jaskier and Yennefer. The one person who could truly understand the emptiness she felt losing Chaos. His empathy with her was just... absolutely perfect.
yeah i agree they have a great on screen chemistry
Why would jaskier relate to her in that way? Because he lost geralt?
@@itscoolthough419 I think because he hears the muses. Like his songs are silly sometimes but I think he really is supposed to be an artist so his muses are to her chaos.

Can we give some credit to Joey Bateys performance with Burn Butcher Burn, that scene sent chills running down my spine it was incredible
I honestly cried when Roach got murdered. I hated seeing the aftermath. Credit to the horse for acting all of that out at the end.
Does roach get murdered? I can't remember reading that in the book
@@jeagerjeager9171 during the whole history of Geralt, roach was the name that geralt gave to all of his horses, so you can assume that he had more, and that was just the end of this specific roach, in one scene when Geralt take the big black horse, he says "u are not exactly my type" or something like that, that tells that he always pick a specific type of horse!

my favourite scene was hands down the moment yen realizes that the sandpiper they came for help to is jaskier. it feels like everything's been going awry for her, hitting lower and lower points... but then the moment she realizes it's jaskier's voice she's hearing you see such a happy, relieved smile blooming on her face. and then we hear jaskier going off with burn butcher burn. i'm in complete love with that part.

I really liked Yen and Jaskier's reunion, they have great chemistry.
Oh valley of PEEEENIS!!!
Can you tell me when that mythical chemistry occurs?
One of few scenes in season 2 that accually matched with books somehow. Except Yen was using her magic to hurt Riens with fire.
They're my favourite character dynamic. Jaskier tries to act like he mistrusts her, yet when the fire mage threatened her, he screamed begging him to not hurt her with full sincerity. In other words, even though he was only pretending to be her husband, he definitely acted like one.
Alas he cares about Yennefer more than he likes to admit.
Did Henry Cavil just reach out to you to thank you??? Good job mate!
The look Henry gave Joey when he asked about his army, you already know they went and played WarHammer after this lol
I want to see it as bad as I want to see season 3 :P

I'm guessing Henry will be less enthused when Joey uses reanimation protocol for the 130th time
Anya seemed so sad with her character’s poor choices. I hope she gets lots of proud moments in the next season. She’s one of a kind
yah, felt bad for her in this interview. i could tell she was disappointed
I loved Yennefer in Season 1, but in season 2 i felt her only development was returning to where she was at the end of season 1. I hope she gets a lot more love in season 3.
So despointing not having Yenfer much on the screen. You lost me there. I had to fast forward all the way to episode 6 just to see the reunion with Garrett. Hopping season 3 will change that.
Anya might just be uncomfortable in interview situations. She seemed more shy than sad here. Can’t blame her. She’s a great actor, she’s just probably not used to this
Honestly it's hard for us as fans watching, imagine having to play this OOC bs 😭 she did a great job considering
You can really tell that Henry knows the character Geralt in and out, because the genuine passion and love he has for the story. I really hope we get to see this series through the end.

i feel like many people want to turn henry's geeky side into something "uncool" and funny thing to joke about in interviews, but it's literally one of the most attractive and loveable things about him, especially seeing as these people are all acting for a fantasy book AND game series which is as geeky as it gets. i don't think people who wanna joke about his hobbies realize that he's so goddamn attractive and also relatable in fans' eyes for it. he's playing geralt freaking rivia so perfectly as if rent is due but also geeks out about games and fantasy books just like the rest of us. PEAK HOTNESS.
Where did you see that? His geeky side is praised all over the internet....
@@lauralahaye7699 in many interviews actually. a lot of interviewers attempt to frame it as something uncool this cool person is doing so it's interesting. he's been talking about his warhammer painting hobby openly and so many times you see it either the interviewer or if someone else is in the room trying to play it as if that's not a normal hobby to do. i was watching his appearance in graham norton recently and despite the fact that graham is my most fav talkshow host, he did it too. it's ofc sold as if it's for the lols but i personally dislike it bc there's nothing embarrassing in geeky hobbies.
ofc this is not a majority behavior. i know he's very beloved all over the internet and even plenty interviewers adore it. it's just something i did notice in more than one occasion and it's irksome to me.
I love how excited Henry got when Joey chimed in on Warhammer 40k, like he totally forgot he was in an interview and started trying to organise a game. Now I just want a CZcams series with Henry and Joey playing board games.

Right at the first question, I'm impressed with how deeply Herry understands the character he's playing. It's true that he's a professional at his job but I'm sure him being a huge fan of the books also plays a critical role in it too.

Felicia Day is not only a host, she's a true fan and lover of both the shows and the books. Wonderful job by her

And her character was such a badass in supernatural. Love her 😄
One of my favorite lines. Ciri attempts to stick the landing on the Witcher obstacle course and falls to the ground, struggles to get up and looks at Geralt who looks down at her and, like a tough father to please, says "So close".
I loved that line! Iknow geralt is always upfront with everything and he doesn’t care if you like it or not of the things he says but dam sometimes it so funny 😂
I just love how Felicia still allows the fan in her to come through. We all know she's a professional- but to let the fan and job part mix so organically is just wonderful and relaxing to watch. 🖤✨
Henry clearly shows his passion for the role and source material. Hopefully he can keep everyone in line and not let it be GoT season 7/8
It will never because the books are already finished and writers know the ending and it ends.
Already happened with them killing Eskel's character and then himself. Deathless mother. Ciri killing Witchers etc.
The whole plot is totally different btw, deathless mother is not in the books or even the game
At least GoT was godlike until the seventh season. Witcher's first two seasons is nowhere near to got's. They had the material tho witcher books are awesome but the show isn't.
It already is worse.
I wonder if there's ever been a better fit for a character than Henry is for Geralt, he's got the matching looks the skills to portray him and he's actually a big fan of the witcher universe and knows so much about it.
Anthony Quinn as 'Zorba the Greek' but yeah - Henry Cavill *IS* Geralt of Rivia! Loved season 2, would like to hibernate until S3 is released (and hopefully we are rid of this pandemic).
It's funny because of the collective scoff the world let out upon the reveal. Sadly, me included (and I love Henry). Boy I've never been so happy to be so wrong.
Michał Żebrowski was also great as Geralt in 2002 Polish TV series The Witcher (it was called The Hexer). Well, the series wasn't good but Żebrowski, the music and some scenes were great (for example geralt meeting ciri - much better than Netflix version of this scene in s01e08)

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool! Other than that? NO!
Anya chalotra has such a cute genuine smile lol love to see the cast together like this

I was so upset when I finished the last episode and realised that there weren't any more episodes. Just didn't want it to end. Love this world, love the actors performances, and their dedication to making everything so special. because someone needed to die isn't a reason
Yeah gotta disagree with this. Their reasoning for Eskel was just simply not a good one. I was genuinely hoping for an explanation that could allow me to see it from their side so that I might get on board with the idea.
There’s so many ways they could’ve done this. And they also didn’t need to kill so many or even so quickly. We barely got to meet any of the other witchers to care enough. It was too rushed.
And getting back to eskel, why did they make him such a dick?? They should’ve made HIM lambert. At least the personality would’ve been more fitting. So not only did they kill him for no good reason but they also disgraced his character. Like whyyyyy

The amount of stress Henry puts into underlining his effort to try and keep the show true to the books is both inspiring and devastating.
I keep seeing that sad Affleck meme in my head. Only that Henry has way too much self control to let it show.
Henry is a professional, he's been in the business for a while and knows how this stuff works. Lauren has her reasons, but Netflix also has their reasons and will send notes to her what they expect of the story and how it should be pointed at (either based on their data or something similar). This show may not be the truest to the books, but it's the one a media company was willing to fund and Geralt is fully aware of this, that's why most of the stuff he pushes for (at least that he won) is pretty small all things considered.
@@l4nd3r yep. Agree with you on that.
What I thought Lauren's reason for creating Voleth Meir was, was exactly it: the book concentrates too much on character dev and building up of relationships. Making a full season of that will leave the new fans of the show bored. The viewers want action and Netflix want viewers 🤷🏼♂️
I'm more than fine with that.
Just disappointed that the characters didn't stay true to the books.
@@matmachina Yeah, like proper adaptation of books wouldn't have viewers lol no one heard about Witcher before the show, right? ... Also, it's seems like a bad writing to me. You need to use these "procedures" because your story would be boring. Story can be good without that.
Image this show without him… it’s not even close to the books right now and in my option a mess… so sorry for him, he should really have the executive discussions… #lorengoaway

I love how henry is praising his co-star for their performance
I love how giving that all are to one another. You really do get the feeling that they love working together.
13:29 This segment was so much fun to watch 😆I love how much they wanted to talk about Warhammer and even set up a Meeting between the lines 😂I loved it. It would be so great to watch them both play Warhammer with their armies and have Warhammer rule conversations 🤭
I bingewatched Witcher s2 on the day it released itself but I kept wanting more like didn't feel like the last epi was really the last of the season.. eagerly waiting for s3 hats off to Freya though she literally shines out this season but I felt the season deviated quite a bit from the books though
Sorry to ask since it might be a lot of writing for ya but I've never read the books and only played the third game would you mind telling me what happened to the books that wasn't part of what we watched in season 2? As I said I've only played the third game and not knowing anything about the books made me enjoy everything I got from season 2 but I really want to know what they've changed.
@@zer0veledits well for one Eskel never dies, Voleith Meir doesn't exist, and Yen doesn't lose her powers
The magic rocks that bring monsters through is not in the books, the way Ciri is trained in the books is entirely different, Triss was her teacher and ciri and yennifer had a mother daughter relationship from the start. They omitted several key characters and neutered Vilgafortz. The timeline is also way off, honestly I’m over it, the series to me is nothing like the books and you just have to accept it’s something totally different
@@zer0veledits From what I've remember Eskel didn't die and Voleith Meir does not exist.
@@zonko Eskel dying bothered the hell out of me. He was one of my favorite characters in the Witcher 3
bingewatched season 2 yesterday and still processing...incredible job everyone, very, very impressive and so much improvement from season 1 which i also loved btw but still, i can see the series is growing and has more and more to offer❤ thank you for this experience!
An your input on Eskel dying?? Hmmmm?? Bleh!
@@captainclone1367 it was unnecessary but did not prevent me from enjoying this season. there you go
I liked the season, but for me it was not better than the first one. IMO there are some flaws in the way they decided to tell the story, not the story itself, but just the crafting of it, I definitely pinning it on the writing. That said, the writing of characters was very well done I thought. I just think they missed the mark with some set-ups, which naturally affects the pay-offs.
As far as Eskel dying and other things that are said to be "not like the books", I get the attachment of people, the respect they have for this, but I would advice to take the experience as it and criticise it on the grounds of what is trying to achieve. I can't wait for season three but I am hoping a step up :)
Personally for me the only problem with 1 was telling three separate stories not in order. It made it very hard for the non book/game fans to understand. I heard it from several with no prior knowledge of the IP.
No such issue this season. Everything flowed. I absolutely loved it. On my second watch thru now 😉
On not 'following the books' precisely. They've said from the start it's an *adaptation of the source* material. Not an exact copy.
@@techpappee And to make up for it, they effectively RUINED the show with S02 for the book/game fans like me.. I loved e01, then I couldn't believe my eyes watching e02 and just died a bit inside.. Dragged through e03 just to make sure I wasn't dreaming, and I stopped it..
Not sure if I'm gonna ever resume it, as I fear it will only get worse..
In the blink of an eye, The Witcher turned into Game of Witchers or something, with a completely made up plot, having NOTHING in common with the books other than the names of the main characters.. This is not even an adaptation, as this implies you adapt something to a new medium - no, this is the writers REDOING everything! Changing character personalities, removing entire characters, inventing plot lines INSTEAD of the original ones.. Such insolence and disrespect really hurt.. A shame for all the awesome actors involved, but I think I'm done with this show.. I don't think this wound will ever heal..
39:49 and 42:44 It's so cool how Kim Bodnia in a few moments goes from Kim Bodnia to Vesimir and back, and forth and back again. The host was asking if it was difficult to play that emotions - well, he is reliving them right now, in the studio. That's so intense!
Omg lmao the part where Joey talked about his favorite scene and Henry chimes in “looking ripped!”
"Just didn't eat" lol yikes
Anya is just so gorgeous and sooo underrated.
It's unfair.

Nice to see an extended interview and how well they all get along. Also first time i see this interviewer. She did a beautiful job. I think she should embrace the moment she gives a compliment like 1sec longer with a smile and eye contact and she reaches another lvl. Well done!
Henry is so wholesome. The way he was describing his love for working on location and the ease of becoming so immersed in the world and the characters and really feeling like he is in it just made me well up with tears. He was bullied as a boy and has always had a love for the Witcher lore and to be able to grow up and be able to play the character that he loved so much and be considered by fans to be good enough to play that character just must be so insanely rewarding. Genuinely, the thought got me choked up.
They all compliment each other so well, such a good team of Actors & Actresses!
You have to give us more of that Yen-Geralt dynamic in season 3. They shared way too few scenes this season. Anya is awesome!
Roach will always be in our heart. He was there in good and bad times, always listening and ready. Rest in peace 🐴
The fact that my girl Felicia Day is hosting this, knowing how geek she truly is??? It makes me so happy for her, love to see it ♡♡♡
I love the connection between Henry and Anya, this show rocks!
@LadyDi Morris; Thanks for your unconditional love, care and support. I truly appreciate, where are you from??
What a step up from season 1. Especially in the special effects and graphics. The ending did justice, satisfying.
This interview seems genuinely fun!! Huge props to Felicia Day as well! 👏🏻
I just can't enough of how incredibly talented the actors are and how genuine and kind they are in person. These people have more talent in their pinky fingers than I have in the last 3 generations of my family.
I enjoyed this Interview so much! There were so many questions i found genuinely interesting that were discussed in depth and in such a pleasant Setting. I look forward to see more Interviews like this one for following seasons!
Joey with “oh, you’re so mean” around 20:08 after the scene 😂
the host is one of my favorite super natural character! Her supernatural character is actually so much like her self in this interview
This is probably the only franchise where Im reading the books after watching the tv show or film or play the videogame, where I can actually still be surprised and entertained by the books and all the stories. They dont tediously hash everything out in the tv show like some others. Masterful. Also Henry and Joey where born for these roles...
Yeah the season 2 barely has anything to do with the books lol
Show dont need to follow books tediously when its well written. Season 2 is horribly written and horribly acted with few exceptions (Geralt, Dijkstra, Kahir, Jaskier)
As Andrzej Sapkowski said: You are or you are not a writer. It is very rare for screenwriters to write anything better than the author of a book. Usually their ideas are sick when they differ from the original novel. This is the case here. The characters of Cahir or Istredd were a warning in the first season that this was not going to be a show for those who read the books. The second season proved it. Sapkowski was aware that when the American film industry buys the rights to books, it makes them something the author would not accept. He got money, the role of Geralt is not played by the Pink Poodle, so it's not bad, but the story is not the one he created.
@@Zeebee1971 You need to know something. Im Polish and i know Sapkowski for years and the one thing I'm pretty sure. Sapkowski will say anything if you pay him well. Season 2 is not for book readers. S2 is not for people with brains either. I'm not a purist whos mad when something is changed compared to original saga. In this huge budget I expect at least decent script, screenplay and acting. Watching only for Cavil cause I feel sorry for him :(
I read the witcher saga for the first time some 20 years ago after watching the series on TV. Then I understood why I didn't like everything about the TV series. It wasn't about the cast that was pretty good or the lousy special effects, but the script. Everything the writer added at the expense of the original was weak and did not fit the whole thing. What you write is true. Anyway, I took this pink poodle from an interview with Sapkowski on CZcams. I'm just disappointed that such a great story was wasted again.
I don't know if you read these Felicia, but you're an excellent interviewer. Great show and I hope you do more of these.
The relationship between ciri and geralt is a masterpiece
What a shame the same cannot be said about yennefer and ciri relationship. They butchered it.

Loved both interview sessions!! What an amazing cast and they deliver such great performances!!! Thank you for sharing this.
Done with both seasons already, currently re-watching S1 then 2 again because why not? This show is simply awesome. And yes, I did notice that bit where Pavetta turned into dust/ash except for the dad. Can't wait for S3!!

I loved this interview, outstanding environment and a comfortable interaction. By the way I loved you too in supernatural! I can’t wait for the third season!
Am I the only one who picked up on how many times Henry kept saying “loyal to the books”?
Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but considering how much season 2 deviated from the books, it felt like Henry was lobbying for a course correction in season 3. Subtly of course.
I also got where Lauren was coming from. Blood of elves is a rough adaption to the screen. I think the source material moving forward though is easier to adapt, so hopefully they get back to that.
I thought the exact same thing! There was just so much subtext in what Henry was saying, and I hope it works in our favor for season 3.
Henry has been saying this constantly since before the first season came out. I think it's less about him trying to course correct the overall story to be more like the books, and more that he really values the details being faithful. In every interview I've watched he talks about he hard he works to play Geralt's personality as much like the source material as he can. I doubt he has much say over the story of the entire season as a whole, but it seems like he has a fair bit of ability to correct and make adjustments to things as they go. For example he's talked about helping create fight scenes, improvising scenes to make them more accurate, making adjustments to his swords and other equipment to be more accurate, etc etc
I haven't read the books. How did they deviate from them? Would love to know.
