A husband who works late continuously neglects his pretty wife's need for companionship, inadvertently bringing about an unwanted police presence.
"Keep Me Company" Dir by Alan Crosland Jr.
Julia Reddy is a newlywed who spends most of her evenings at home alone, watching TV and playing solitaire. Her husband Marco is out working almost every evening with his two brothers. He's apologetic but he and his brothers are setting up a new wholesale business and they have to put in the hours. Alone one evening, she's afraid someone may be out on her fire escape and phones the police who check the situation and assure everything is okay. She rather liked having someone to chat to so she phones the police again asking that a more senior officer be sent to deal with her complaint. Detective Parks spends some time with her, but things take a dramatic twist when her husband returns home.

I had a huge crush on Anne Francis when I was a boy. The reason: ‘Honey West’. Female detective, form-fitting outfits, martial arts and her pet ocelot, Bruce! And she drove an AC Shelby Cobra! Hot, OMG! And her hunky side-kick played second fiddle. One season only, 1965-66, onset of puberty for me…first awakenings!

This is a common scenerio. The lonely wife, calling the police. When I was a patrol officer it became my job to respond to these calls....the twist, I am a woman. I admit, I actually enjoyed seeing their faces when they answered the door and laid eyes on me rather than those handsome faces in a uniform 😊.

the series "moves" around. I can't get it in Dec 2020 on Hulu. I think the new Peacock streaming service grabbed it. I like the days when all these older shows were FREE and on TBS, TMC, AMC, etc. Now, everything streams and you usually have to pay.

This is the second Hitchcock movie with Anne Francis in. I always thought her name was Connie Francis, unless that was someone else. This Anne Francis reminds me a little bit of Elizabeth Montgomery in that old series called Bewitched.
