Honestly, the idea that Alastor could brute force his way through any problem he comes across, but actively chooses to use charm and manipulation to get his way makes him a truly dynamic and interesting character
Ya it kinda reminds me of bane from the batman series..he can brute force his way through problems but many times chooses to also use his smarter side to get through it
Yesss I love that
characters like this are the most dangerous hes got brains, style and strength
And yet he still lets vaggie boss him around
He will use brute force when it comes time. The time hasn’t come. I honestly beleive he’s gonna topple the overlords and try to go after Lucifer and that’s why finding out who killed the angel was so important he’s evil enough to want to take over and he’s not using brute force cause he can’t but maybe if he teams up with Charlie to take over he’ll since Lucifer is in cohorts with the angels for the extermination I think him and Charlie will take over Lucifer’s spot and he’ll try to betray her at that point when they topple heaven idk just how I feel like it’s gonna go
I love how Alastor can get offended at times. He never frowns but his eyes tell you when he’s pissed off
Yeah the scene where Camilla just brushes him off kills me every time
@@scorrr4388 he put them on his genocide list
@@scorrr4388 Or during the 'stayed gone' song when he appears on screen and sees Vox on the TV, he also has annoyed eyes for just a second before going to his 'unbothered' appearance again.
As well as his eyes twitching when the eggbois are following him.
@@scorrr4388 [ep5 spoilers]
or during episode 5 when husk mentions he's on a leash, where we see alastor actually get full-on pissed for the first time
The ways his eyes dilate into clock dials too. Another small thing, whenever he's upset, the roots off his teeth round out as if a sign of his smile getting wider since he seems unable to frown.
I love how gallant and well mannered he is. He doesn’t need to be vulgar to be a menace to everyone around and to spread fear. A trully classy demon!
The only mildly sorta vulgar word he used was “pissy”
hes slaughtering people in the most brutal ways for fun and yet hes still so AHHH
He simultaneously adheres to the normal idea of a demon while giving it a twist that adds to his character. His character was well designed and thus people like him. Good characters are usually liked even if they are a villain, not hard to understand.
He doesn't even really curse. But he's taken seriously, even when he's giggling and grinning
@@maki9396 he doesn’t need to curse to slaughter and torture people
I think the reason why we all love Alastor is because he’s a character who we don’t know is a villain or not, he has a unique voice and character design and he’s a character that is so unapologetically himself. He’s the type of villain that we end up rooting for anyway.
EDIT: Okay I seemed to have started a debate. Dude we all know he clearly is psychotic and eats and kills people. But lets agree that we all love him and is a great villain *_AND_* a great character. He's a serial killing deer cannibal radio host who likes Jazz and that's enough.
man he definitely is a villain and we all know it he slaughtered more people in hell in worse ways then all the angels lol
@@my.melody.gamingg Doesn't take away his nuances, beside in Hell there's a type of immortality so for the overlords is kinda like shooting at the demons with nerf guns, but Alastor stand up for many reasons
@@Stephanthecuteblondie2567 he stands out cause he’s twisted and sadistic psychopath that has worse kill count than all the angels also the fact the bodies are DEFORMED after he’s done with them
@@my.melody.gaminggSooo… Do you like Alastor or do you hate him? I really can’t tell💀

I am willing to bet that Alastor and Lilith work towards... something... together. Both of them went vanished 7 years before ep 1, and now Alastor comes back specifically to "help" her daughter. Something is going on here, no doubt about that.
Yeah, he specifically said "well deserved holiday, nothing important 😈" shifting his eyes side to side. So it must be very important.
I was just about to comment that.
For sure! I'm just curious what that is...
He could also be imprisoning Lilith. Just saying.
Think about it, he gets immense pleasure out of seeing sinners fail to do something meaningful. Lilith is vicariously trying to achieve her goals through Charlie. What if Alastor is forcing Lilith to witness him sabotaging Charlie?
@@Modestbrag Lilith is said to be one of the most powerful beings in Hell, second to only Lucifer and perhaps Charlie. In other words, he doesn't have the power to do that!
Now that the show is officially out I love him even more he’s a petty, serious/unserious character who likes to mess with ppl. His rivalry with Vox was great the duet was *chefs kiss*.
Honestlt he's the TFS Alucard of the show at this point in my opinion.
he has Bugs Bunny vibes and I'm here for it. it's so fun.
Their duet is my favorite song from the four episodes so far, hands down.
Hes whatever the radio version of an internet troll is, except instead of fucking with people by lying, you know he could easily be much worse, and anything he says he could do, he probably can.
@z2yn He has also more of the Other Mother vibes from Coraline. I wanted to see more Dr Facilier vibes.
i like him because he is one of the very few characters not swearing or making poorly timed/easily predictable sex jokes every 10 seconds or so
though, they are in hell and most of them are using those a well thought out indication they are scared of serious gentle conversations so they avoid and deflect those with vulgar jokes, Like some people do. It's a realistic aspect of the characters, whether it's poorly timed or not. Also, angel's problems with that type of behavior literally get addressed in episode 4.
Yeah and the reason for this is because he wants to be seen as a proper gentleman and is aroace(confirmed by Vizipop).
@@Rawan.9472 i do not think being aroace has to do with being a classy gentleman, but it does align with his personality more on commiting to being 100% classy
@@Rawan.9472i just remember vizzie saying he's ace, not aro. I might be mistaken tho, it's been years.
It's pretty much just Angel, Adam, and Valentino that do the sex jokes so far aside from the occasional random character hitting on someone, and they're usually the ones swearing too. Charlie, Vaggie, Husker, and Sir Pentious rarely swear or make sexual references. Vox and Velvette swear a bit, but that's about it for major characters.
I love antagonist and anti-heros that for some reason can interact with the heros on a daily basis, it makes for some entertaining dynamics.
sukuna
Short answer; he's the witty, powerful, absolutely unbothered, cruel yet charming, in controll Character we all desire to be.
While we all know that we're all Sir pentious
Ya didn't have to get this real and personal at the end 😂
That's exactly what I was going to say. Lol He what you aspire to be, even if you know that if this were real life you'd be lucky to be thecomic relief. Lol

He can be unbothered and in control because he just has magic "I win" power
It's not really impressive to be confident if you can just will anyone to die without effort or consequence
@@gottagofastest Yes, and that's something we all wanna have to some extend. Did you never wish that you would have *that* witty comeback in a Situation? *The* solution for an issue?
The best part about Alastor for me so far, aside from him unapologetically being a douche, is his silent and brief interactions with Rosie in episode 3. The way they smile at each other is really adorable and I can't wait to see more of it in episode 7.
the funniest thing about that is, im pretty sure in the original concept for the show Rosie and Alastor were supposed to have some sort of rivalry. not sure if it made its way into the final draft though so them smiling at each other caught me off guard
Such "yay I get to sit by my bestie at school" energy with those two
@@Octocide I thought it was always confirmed that Alastor and Rosie were friends. Pretty sure Viv even said on an old stream they were gonna have a duet together.
@@zer0zekken120 yeah except alastor sees everybody as meat for slaughter he doesnt care about anybody but himself
@@my.melody.gamingg Well, he can still have fun with thosea around him, not saying he cares, but he doesn't directly slaughter his preys, that's the cool thing
Alastor represents something rare in modern media: Conviction. Alastor's absolute assuredness that he will be proven right in the end, without any need to tip the scales in his favor is the core of his appeal as a character. Is he evil? Absolutely, but his conviction means he intends to relish being proven right, even when he helped those opposing him. Combined with a unique speech pattern (that's far more refined than anyone else, without the rife vulgarity most characters indulge in.) and solid presentation, Alastor is a great character over all.
It's that rare conviction without hostility. Others doubt Alastor is right, and Alastor laughs in pity at them. It's sadism without being petty or pathetic, and few things are more intimidating.
best take in this entire comment section. nobody went into depth here, but you've touched on something that I think ties into the deeper reasons this character is one of if not the most compelling on the show
I agree
Alastor is only "scary" _/menacing_ asf, when he **wants** to be... or NEEDS to be: never unnecessary..... and _NEVER_
undeserved.
What I find cool is apparently Alastor when alive, when his mother died he promised to never stop smiling in honour of her. I find that sad but also a cool fact at the same time.
But yeah that’s why he’s always smiling
Idk why I just said the most random fact about him ever
I thought he always smiles because he views not smiling as a sign of weakness.
@@JHurricane possibly another reason, but he did make a promise to his mother as well
@@JHurricane maybe that's why he promised her
I believe the main reason he smiles is he believes being proper is incomplete without a smile. He states this in the pilot episode to Vaggie on his first few minutes in the hotel.
He exudes a level of high class in his own fashion and mannerisms, seeking similar people out. This is likely his main reasoning for being acquainted with Zestial and Rosie, as well as the prim and proper Cannibal Colony, where Rosie and other cannibals are usually depicted smiling.
I'm sure that's why he always smiles, to never have insufficient class in his appearance.
@@SperoLucemmmhm.
And if you’ve spent any time studying the South USA and any time in Louisiana itself, there’s another, very big, 1900s reason why Alastor would always be smiling, affable, and generally seem to get along. And why he’d remain in Radio (the fact that I’m sure he knows he’s not bad looking-doesn’t care though) he says in the show “this is a face made for radio” which to me is a huge kind of lore drop: we know he’s at least “half” (all, technically,) Creole, which means he _does_ have a face _only_ for radio where color lines don’t matter if he can hide his natural accent(s) (presumably rather Deep South/shanty town, and then a learned much softer southern genteel one) via the Transatlantic accent.
So if he wavered back and forth between being “too dark” and “just light enough” depending on potential sun exposure, then keeping a friendly, open demeanor would help smooth that over.
Never mind his… “extracurricular activities” and the fact that he probably did his sprees because of said magic needing sacrifices, and/or he was very bored that month (honestly I could see it going either way with him).
So as a human it would be just another puzzle piece in his front facing mask to smooth racial tensions, as well as to make it seem like he _actually_ understands other people instead of being an uncaring sociopath and/or grandiose narcissist (or both).
And his whole “I only deal with things made before 1940s” “””technophobe””” bit is… just that. A bit he’s committed to _hard_ why? Because he bluescreens Vox with some sort of executable (and interesting thing that Vox isn’t, anymore, just a CRT TV demon, and seems to be a hybrid between TV and computers, since when was the last time you saw a TV actually BSoD? XD (I’d pay money to see Vox’s BIOS.) And that means that the “””technophobe””” can _code_ which means his love of his personal medium, his love of old tech, and etc is because he really does just… like it. But making it a distraction, instead of just someone like Pent who is a steampunk inventor snake, means he can operate under the radar, as he probably always did.
Which honestly, the idea of Alastor lying to _all_ of Hell about his caring (or not) about modern tech, but preferring his older medium, is just amazing. Not to mention, it also makes people (demons) not question A) why does Vox have antenna (because he’s still a TV demon, and he’d still be able to pick up and tune to the compressed radio waves that TV hard to be broadcast over), B) why can Alastor manifest himself into Vox’s screens at Vox’s hacker lair, and C) it under cuts how much radio waves are still used all the time even today (anything that is RFID Alastor could just override) and makes it so no one thinks about it. They don’t think about how far reaching and almost terrifying his reach actually is.
He reminds me of Bill Cipher. All -powerful, but still chooses to play with his victims, cuz it's fun and both of them are unhinged compared the rest of the cast.
The vibe he gives me is as something of a Yami Bakura, pretending to be innocent and nice and helpful (as far as a demon overlord can at any rate) to the others' faces where he can, while slowly scheming and pulling strings in the background to pursue a larger goal no one knows yet. I would not be surprised in the slightest if his schemes come together and he becomes the final villain of the series and unites everyone against him.
Often, the most terrifying and fun villains are the polite ones. Ones that are so badass they can afford to be nice. Plus, the hotel needs him, as his presence is a deterrent to attacks. Alistair has ulterior motives and is obviously playing *some* kind of long game besides his publicly stated ones, so the mystery is fun, and his radio schtick is fun. His interactions with the other overlords are interesting too, and it’ll be interesting to see what this unpredictable character will do in the future.
Funny how you say deterrence to attackers, as all the times it has been attacked so far have...well, it's been good ol' Sir Pentious, having a one-sided rivalry _with_ Alistor.
@@brolytriplethreat Nobody takes Sir Pentious seriously. 😆
True
One of the things I love about Alastor is that his radio static disappears when he tells the truth, or at least something he strongly believes in. Like when he says "If I wanted to hurt anyone here, I would have done so already." in the pilot; his speech is clear because the static isn't masking his "intention" or tone.
did not notice that detail, noice.
Ooh, good catch 🪝
Nic3
Always got to admire someone who is so sure of themselves that they don’t need to prove it.
It's true security. Not the fake confidence that's hiding a raging inferiority complex, like is usually shown. He's confident but not arrogant.
Theres just something so fun about someone being so actively up for violence, but mostly just choosing to be an absolute nuisance to those around him. This man just contains an *ungodly* level of sass and it's fun to watch
I think Alastor is going to let his secret about Carmilla killing the angel out when he goes visit Rosie or he just might tell Charlie
I can see that happening
I imagine him trying to eat an angel. he seemed a bit too interested in that exorcist head
@@GeneralLDS Actually he kinda did. Well in one shot we can see him in the background touching it and then like tasting it from his hand

Hes essentially a Dinsey Pure evil villain who happens to work for the good guys. I mean seriously Vox and Alastors song battle is litterally just two disney villains dissing eachother and I love it.

Alastor could easily kill the V's but he just wants to see them try to kill him or defeat him so they could fail spectacularly hence why he said to try better next time to Vox. He's just playing with his toys until he gets sick of it to satisfy his enjoyment
and then his favorite part comes torture and murder thats why hes playing with them until the time for meal comes
Didnt Vivzie say that Alastor and Vox are equals though? Besides that, in episode 2 Valentino toys with Vox by asking if he’s still upset that Alastor ‘almost’ beat him 7 years ago. Even if you believe that Alastor didn’t lose, it’s certain that he did already fight with Vox-who is still alive, very noteworthy.

It his vibe for me. Man radiates menace energy and the constant smiling just makes me happy. His high power level is also so fun to watch
The novelty of him speaking like an old timey broadcaster really stood out to me but what really started to get me to like him was the way he carried on in his usually sort of happy-go lucky roaring 20s attitude. What sealed the deal was how Alastor changes when he drops the act. The pitch, and tone of his voice drops, the radio distortion goes away, and it just sells that he means business.
yes!!!
Alastor's character reminds me of Bugs Bunny and Sir Pentious' Daffy Duck.😂
Yea Alastor definitely has Buggs Bunny vibes. But I see Vox being more like Daffy Duck especially during there duet together. While Serpentious was more like Elmer Fudd.
Sir Pentious is Cobra from GI Joe but cuter
Sir Pentius: *"Be vewy vewy quiwet...*
I'm hunting Alwistors.
Huhhuhuhh..."
He’s genuinely just so goddamn pleasant while also being an immense threat, and I can’t help but adore him nonetheless. The voice, the mannerisms, the undebatable style. He’s got it all down and he knows it 🤌
It also helps that he reeks Black Air Force Energy. Just look at his actions in the first 4 episodes. He toys with pretty much everyone he see's, for no particular reason other than him just wanting too. He toyed with Vox. He toyed with Sir Pentious over 20 times. He manipulates vaggie easily. Most of his screen-time has some disrespectful moments. My favorite disrespectful moment of his, is when he lit the piece of his clothing that Pentious tore off right in front of him. Claiming how it made Sir Pentious proud that he was able to do something that impressive. He's been on straight demon-time. Literally & Figuratively. Theres a few other moments like this, and all the other points you made in this video perfectly encapsulates why he's my favorite character.
I love Alastors character. He doesnt need to be vulgar to be threatening, he knows his strength and he uses it to his advantage. I may also just have a soft spot for characters who dont swear and make sex jokes in these kinds of shows. I myself dont swear and am, relatively, clean-minded, while everyone around me is the exact opposite. Its refreshing in a sense
Oh Alastor does swear. But since his use is so rare it is more impactful.
The most notable use was to Lucifer with Alastor right next to his face a simple but very telling ‘F you’.
I don’t mind swearing those words exist to serve a purpose.
What I dislike is excessive swearing just for the sake of swearing.
When used correctly they are simple effective and concise context intensifiers.
It happens to me in a similar way, but still, I have limits. I rarely swear, but if I get angry enough, I might 😯
I love his silliness, his offputting brand of poise, and the way he prefers to annoy his foes rather than destroy them. Rlly good little guy. There’s also a layer of complexity to his lore and character that I can’t wait to see develop!
He has a hot voice. That 100% plays a part in it. Between his actual voice, the transatlantic accent, the nostalgic radio static.
I just have a giant soft spot for Alastor because he reminds me of old OCs I made as a teen. So the nano second he showed up at the hotel and started talking in the pilot I just knew "Oh no he's my favorite". After being bullied online to stop drawing certain things, it just felt good to see a character like Alastor absolutely FLOURISHING.
The thing is you can’t have ocs like that that represent you, because people who are actually like that don’t draw ocs of themselves to portray their “sigma-ness” to other people. It just looks like the “chill guy that doesn’t care about what anyone thinks” meme. The difference is context
@@saycap what
@@saycapself insert OCs are often just what people ideally want, not just "Hey I'm cool look at me", it is sometimes a little childish childish go and make an Oc which is just an overpowered Mary Sue archetype, but there's no harm in it.
Also according to someone in the comments, Alastor is literally an OC Viz made when she was in either middle or high school, her oldest character in the show.
Alastor, at the end of the day, is exactly what you're talking about, but with good character writing to back it up instead of the classic argument children make about their characters being super strong and unbeatable. Hell, Alastor was even wounded in the finale, we saw a godlike being bleed, what it should've felt like to learn that Angels could be harmed in the show.
Anyways I was a bit hesitant to like Alastor because of the sheer OC energy he generates with his design, it doesn't look professional and yet it's warmed up to me, and his unabashed evil is nice. Even Adam calls him an edge lord.
Well Alastor is charming whimsical, and very funny
But the real reason he's a present threat of his powers when it comes to his sins
And he's demon form is biggest fan art decision in the internet
He's voice filter sounds effects of radio really sealed his popularity
The only times I remember Alastor losing his composure are when angel dust comes onto him in the pilot, when Sir Pentious ripped his coat, and when Carmilla doesn't care about what he was up to in his absensce. The Carmilla bit stands out especially to me because he doesn't just get angry or surprised, he's offended and his pride is hurt a little. It does make sense, though, that the only person to chip his armor is another demon overlord of a similar caliber
You forgetting when him and Lucifer meet? That "Ha ha, F*uck you!" is one of the stand out moments of the first season
@@SH-qs7ee I don't remember exactly when I made this comment, but it could've been before episode 5 released.
Alastor was my favorite right off the bat
Me wearing my alastor shirt sipping from my alastor mug watching this video: hm yes interesting i wonder why so many people like him
Alastor is a very entertaining character, a demonic voodoo boogeyman is very interesting
This man saw Lucifer and immediately started beef claiming Charlie as his daughter when that vibe was never felt once before just to piss Lucifer off. GOAT
it's all fun and jokes until Alastor is not amused by your fav character anymore
In my opinion, Alistair is the most complicated villain I’ve ever seen in my entire life and the best character I can expect from him.
I think Alastor is so loved (he's one of my two favorites as well) because he doesn't suffer from something pretty much every other character (with few exceptions) do: exposition dump.
Because he keeps to himself and just answers or reacts to others, we barely have any information about him, which keeps him interesting. His mystery is not some sort of speed run to be solved like everyone else's, he remains a solid fort that allows people a standing point to hold onto, which is one of the main things many modern shows lack, with so many characters having their backstories shoved down your throat almost immediately. This goes as well for Charlie, she also works because her character also stands as a solid fort without any exposition dump.
Both characters work on their own personalities instead of a giant backstory to make you interested in them. Their personality is what works, not their sob background to make you feel sorry for them.
I feel like they nerfed his personality a smidge, he gets bossed around by Vaggie a lot so far and he doesn't interact with the main hotel cast all that much aside from her.
I'm hoping for more of his charm and personality to come out, I'd love a scene of him cooking or doing a broadcast in his spare time.
Also, the way they make his eyes glow is pure eye candy, I can never get enough of that.
They framed him as the manager, so I guess he’ll come down from the office occasionally to do manager things. Using his appearances sparingly are probably a good thing though
I'm one of the comics they showed that he's a bit protective of women, his views are old timey, but he is not bothered by women as authority figures.
So I believe that he gives women a lot more slack than he does men
@@LoneHowler ‘Protective’ is a bit too positive of a word to describe his attitude towards women imo-he literally slapped and pushed Vaggie during his song in the pilot, and outright states that he’ll enjoy watching Charlie’s and Vaggie’s dreams crash.
@@Crystal_Clearly you're right. My point is he's got a warped chivalry type view, and very old fashioned out of date societal standards. He's going to cross boundary lines that we find no longer acceptable, but although he's going to push the girls buttons, he's not going to do them any deliberate harm.
I think his character is supposed to be a trickster god type, outwardly he's going to be a friendly antagonist. But his hidden motive is actually to be there to protect the girls at all costs
I don’t know I think being bossed around is essential to his plan. He’s trying to help more now so they fail worse later, needing to be bossed around is just siphoning a little enjoyment out of it in the process.
Another reason is unlike majority of the characters in the HH/HB world, he doesn't overreacts and have the same smile regardless of how he is feeling
I love alastor so dam much. He is literally my favorite character on the show. And he is the reason i listend to 1930 new york jazz music
3:03 speaking of which, I wonder HOW Husk ended up losing to Alastor. He's a gambling addict yeah, but we know he was cheating with amazing slight of hand, yet he still lost everything (and I assume, his soul ownership contracts went over to Alastor).
You don't always win...
That would have been WORSE!
@@Ramsey276one true that, but from what I guess, Husk was an Overlord of gambling. Supposedly gained his souls through that too, because, you know what they say, the *house always wins* .
@DevourerDragons in his song with Angel, he mentioned how he was on a major losing streak and losing power, fast. So he made a deal with Alastor for more power and to win. What exactly caused that losing streak (it seemed to be more than just a few bad hands,) they didn't show, but he got down on his luck and was so desperate to keep his power and position, he sold his soul to another demon over lord.
I like to think that Alastor out-cheated the cheater.... and Husk didn't even know it... because he was _too_ busy:

I love how threatening he is. You can tell just by his musical number with Vox. Vox starts off confident and full of himself, but as soon as Alastor starts you can really tell who the real threat is. He knows his worth, he knows who he is and what he wants, and he knows how to get it. He doesn't speed up the processes (even if he can) he lets things mostly play out on its own
He also isn't pushy like most overlords- he brings up a deal with Charlie maybe once or twice, but he knows if she were to sign a deal, it wouldnt be from him bringing it up constantly so he lets her simmer on it.
I just love him as a character. He seems like he tells you everything about himself (like his mother's jambalaya(?), and yet he tells you absolutely nothing at all. He's so unthreatening in the way he acts, but you know he is worth being scared of just by his vibes and presence.
He's interesting, and he's 3 dimensional. I love him so much.
Also he's ace, and I'm ace, so I like him for that reason as well.
Plus, his morals might be messed up, but at least he doesn't hurt children. He has a moral compass, it just doesn't include killing and cannibalising.
Another thing about him i absolutely love is that he always smiles. He shows all his emotions with his eyes. His reasoning for this is he thinks that frowns make you seem pathetic, that if you can't cover your true emotions with a smile, your weak. It gives him a feeling of power and dominance over situations, and that is an amazing perspective to have tbh.
I just love listening to alastor. His voice is way too satisfying and entertaining. Especially with the way he talks
I enjoy that he is a whimsical villain that is actually threatening. It is believable and understandable HOW he became so feared and powerful.
alastor is fascinating i need to study him under a microscope like a bug

from the moment when he said 'if i wanted to hurt someone i would have done so by now,' and uses his voodoo magic and i think even breaks the 4th wall to make you think your screen is glitching. his song with charlie and how he toys with sir pentous is just awesome. none of the characters even in the new series have come close.
Hes the main reason I watch Hazbin, hes my all time favourite. Wihout Alastor I dont think Hazbin would be quite as entertaining as it it with him.
I'm just a simp for the voice, love old fashioned technology and the focus on his voice and identity is so cool and refreshing from the darker elements. such as the connection between his form of a deer, and how apparently he was shot, mistaken for a deer and than became one, also seen later eating one in the series. which makes sense of his connection to the cannibalism camps and Rosie.
He's also well put together, in both personality and his lawful/neutral nature. Only ever really reacting than being the aggressor, it gives me the idea that he's toying with them and that he's in control.
great show can't wait, I definitely like it more than Helluva boss.
I think the reason Alastor is liked is the same reason superheroes with masks are so loved, they have a limit amount of material to show facial expressions but they are still capable of showing emotions.
Alastor only smiles, but there are scenes where he's showing other emotions like embarrassment, annoyance, offense, rage, or just happiness
The fact Charlie said that her mom has been gone for 7 years and so did vox for Alastor is the most MOST red flag narrative shit I've ever seen. I'm hooked.
RIGHT? Chekov’s seven year disappearance lmaoooo
Alastor is one of my favorite characters in the series he’s someone I wish I was like.
You can learn charisma
Just skip the murder and cannibalism, ok?
@@Elekaz-Z yeah and also the psychopathic love for torture and suffering oh wait... that wouldnt be alastor anymore lol
Alastor❌
Alleystore ✅
Every website says he's the main antagonist when it's either Vox or Adam, Alastor is just that guy who's the evil comedian
Tbh he brings in some sort of comfort because he always seems unbothered and collected also gives off the “everything’s in control” vibe
I love Alastor because he’s charismatic, scary, powerful, and funny :3
Alastor just have that 100 in charisma.
I would love to see mor of his backstory and the fight between Alastor and Vox.
Dealmakers are one of my favorite character archetypes.
The biggest takeaway I love about Alastor is one simple, but drastically different thing: he swears rarely, if not AT ALL. In a world where the amount of swearing actually kinda ruins the show a significant amount(Valentino, good Lord, is just weak writing on this behalf) it is relieving to me that Alastor is one of the very few characters who openly refuses foul language as he finds himself dignified enough to not need to.
Yep, because he's gentlemanly and also canonically AroAce!
Vivziepop actually has a very black and white, cartoony representation of hell. Like everyone in hell embraces that they are evil, and goes out of their way to be as cartoonishly evil as possible. If they really are sinners from earth, it’d probably be way more nuanced and actually look a lot more like the real world with similarly nuanced people. To the point where alastor is the closest representation to a real person despite being a megalomaniacal/sadistic individual.
Also adam’s character is just straight up non-believable so theres that
@@saycap Very true, sir, very true. Words to live by
Alastor is a fun character who steals every scene he's in. Moreover, you touched on this a little bit, but he's aspirational. There is no greater power to have in the universe than to be able to tell anyone else no and have the power to just walk away if they tried to do something about it.
His felling of "many overlords" ties into his tyrant breaking persona as well. The real question is why, and I'm looking forward to seeing what we learn. He's our tie to the past, whatever the past is, and that alone would make him important.
There are still a ton of websites, apps and even channels here on CZcams to listen to old time radio... It sounds very pleasant in it's unique way and the quality, hard work and passion put into it still shows despite being sometimes around 100 years old. It's pretty cool.
20s radio guys were the equivalent of podcasters and crypto dudes in the 2010s, so yeah they were quite passionate.
He's charismatic, mysterious, and genuinely helpful when his services are needed.
"Alistor's moral code is not very relatable" I think it's very relatable
Never forget, you never fully dress if you don’t have a smile 😊
😈 😈 😈
🤗
To be fair he is the best character I have seen he has such a great possible villain arc
I honestly love him because of his lovecraftian-esque powers. In the pilot when he took out the tentacles and imploded Sir. Pentious' blimp, and switches back and forth from angry to joyful. He's truly a strawberry pimp
I love his design and aesthetic; I love his voice (and the voice changer with the radio distortion); I love how he's a powerful demon but also kinda just a silly goofball. He really is just so entertaining and fun to see on screen. I love the 1930s music and fashion sense, and Alastor embodies that (along with being silly), so he's perfect for me.
It’s fitting as a cult leader character
Reason why people love alastor
Reason 1: hes way powerfull of all the sins
Reason 2:hes a deer
Reason 3: he is cool red strawberry pimp
You mean more powerful of all of overlords?
He can _MATCH_ the power of the Sins.... or... AT LEAST their
**INTIMIDATION** factor...
Lol
Ever since the beginning Alastor has been one of my favorite characters. Now that the show is actually out I somehow have an even greater appreciation for him.
I love how he's the only demon with the balls to bait the king of Hell as if Lucifer couldn't take him out if he really wanted to.
I haven't seen much talk about him resembling a wendigo, one of the older types of cryptids.
Aren’t they created by people cannibalizing each other?
My theory is that he wants to get closer to Charlie to use her in a grand plan of overthrowing Lucifer and becoming the ruler of Hell., I think he was the one behind the attack on an angel and he was the one who by extension provoked Adam
Actually Camilla( the overlord of angelic weapons and arms dealing) killed the angel to protect her kids.
I love the character design. The suit with the tiny little horns that grow bigger as he lets loose really shows that he’s just putting on the civilized façade, and he’s an ‘animal’ beneath.
even tho i'm not a big hazbin hotel fan anymore, i love alastor's design and voice
I adore Alastor have since the pilot first off the loveee the aesthetic the coat the tie the monocle the deer antlers aaa second the fact that he’s confident full of insane potential and power just makes me even more curious Al is one of Thoses characters that knows the cards he holds and knows how to use them to his advantage sure he could kill anyone he wants to but chooses to use his charm and manipulation instead its the kind of character you want to know more about just based on how they act and who they are and I know I’m not alone in wanting to know more
His side locks, his smile, his voice, his body movement, his deer ears.... Mmmf. And his eyes.
Dude is hot as hell itself.
bro chill 💀💀
I’m laughing my ass off but it’s eh **true**
I honestly think that it's amazing how Alastor is such a charismatic character that not only does he manage to maintain a certain image with other characters, but that same charm carries over into minds of the fanbase. That's a well-crafted character.
Alastor scratches an itch Disney has failed to for me for some time. I love the campy, unapologetically evil villains
The overlords we met so far are all "in your face" types. They are what you see. They will rip out your soul and gloat about it. Alastor seems different. You would only realize you got caught when you present your soul with your own hands and he takes it with a smirk and looses interest in you. I think, for him the play is the goal not the win in the end. A good game will end in a win but not everything action makes a good game.
Johnny 2 Cellos has theorised that Alastor was sent by Lilith to help Charlie because both she and Alastor were absent for seven years. Someway, somehow Alastor has a connection to Charlie’s mum.
That's actually a pretty solid theory! Would be curious to see if it gets revealed what happened during that 7 year period by the end of season 1 or sometime in season 2 🤔
Well Alastor did say it was "a well deserved holiday, nothing important" 😈 👀😏
I mean Lilith is a singer and loves music so having a connection to the Radio Demon is totally viable and believable. And Vizie has said she headcanons MotherMonster [Lady Gaga] as her voice which omg if they got Lady gaga to voice Lilith when they have Kesha for Beelzebub omgomg hype. Im just wondering if they will write Lilith back into the story after they get lady gaga to voice her.
Alot of people said that. C'mon now. It's not exclusive to Johnny. Even Sarcastic Chorus said it.
Didn't Alastor in the Plot episode of Hazbin Hotel say he came because of his absolute boredom.
i love him so much, hes so well mannered and polite!! it goes well with who he is
Alastor is one of those oh so charismatic anti-hero/villans you can’t help but love. I’ve always been a sucker for your Loki’s, Hannibal Lecter’s and Dexter’s. I get the same vibes from this character and I can’t wait to see more of him. And is anyone else wondering why he knew angels were tasty. 😰
Something I like to think about or the reason why I like him the most is because if you look through the comics, he may be powerful but he is lonely. He wants to form connections and actually have friends he just does not know how to do that and or people are scared of him.
pls help? thats literally not who alastor is alastor has no positive feelings he is a homicidal maniac everybody is a meat for slaughter to him because he enjoys brutal torture. So no he is not capable of love he doesnt want anybody to come near him so yeah stop reading fan comic and watch the show or the art viv made he is not lonely he enjoys his twisted game making everybody suffer thats how psychopathic mental illness works that he has
not to mention alastor killed more people in hell than all the angels just because he was bored hes self centered and other people suffering brings him pleasure
Alastair is my favourite character followed by Charlie, Husk, Niffty and I do like Veggie but she's someone I just like as Charlie's girlfriend and I can relate-ish to Angel Dust or Anthony since that is his real human name. I can relate to him as I am a survivor of domestic violence. Never use drugs and I wasn't a porn star.
It’s just like Gojo he’s a badass demon with a interesting story and concept that could beat everything in the room and he knows it and knows that u know it
I love this character, I want to know so more about him, and I dread the day when enough was revealed to completely dissolve the mystery.
I don't think he's 100% confident and that's fine, he gets a little pissed when Carmilla said no ones cares he left.
She didn't piss him off she bruised his ego and that personality offended him. He IS confident in himself to the point that he thinks he's living rent free in everyone's mind so they'd notice he was gone and care enough to be discussing it. She basically shattered that bit of self-importance for him. 😂
alastor may have no desire to change initially but who knows charlies influence might lead to him being a bit better overall
he already doesnt do direct harm unless provoked
@@snonyabeeswax doesnt do direct harm? girl did u watch the show? alastor does all kinds of direct harm for fun he tortures and slaughters people in the most horrid way because of his own pleasure he came to spill blood and suffering so no there is nothing better for him since thats who he is hes a homicidal psychopath and his room is full of dead flaid bodies that he just murdered cause he was bored. Charlies influence? alastor literally plays her like a pawn in his twisted game wanting to see her suffer
so yeah he does way more than a direct harm since he kills and tortures just for his own entertainment not cause hes provoked nobody does that since everybodys afraid of him he murders because he likes to watch people die in pain without any direct reason he just picks whoever thats the whole point of his character
My best mate and I realised after watching that we've both got the same favourite characters, and for the same reasons. Angeldust was easy - he's acrobatic, burned out, deeply traumatised, and constantly done with everything, but he still makes time to be a troublemaking little shit. Those are all part of the way we see ourselves. Alastor was a bit harder to figure out, but we got there. It's the smile and the showmanship: yes they make him incredibly charismatic, but they have a much more important purpose that he alludes to in the pilot when talking to Vaggie - they make him almost completely unreadable. At least, they do until his mask slips - he's got so much power that it starts to leak out of him if he's not actively controlling it, and even when he loses focus and starts to lose his grip on it he's still got so much self-control that it bleeds into the environment around him in the form of audiovisual glitches long, long before it starts to actually affect *him*. We got to know each other from working in politics together, and a lot of that combination of charisma, unshakeable affability and self-control are particularly desirable in that environment - but isn't that sort of confident and controlled attitude that never responds impulsively and never leads you to feel the need to use your strength unnecessarily something we all aspire to to some degree? I'd suggest his strength is aspirational too, but I think we'd love Alastor just the same if we never saw his powers at all.
I love the way this guy pronounces Alastor, it's so funny
Vox is also loved 😊
Not wrong!
Not loved nearly: as much as Adam or Alastor.... and coincidentally --- I **HAAAAAATE** both...
but I _LOOOOOOVE_ Alastor...
He doesn't seem to be *OUTWARDLY* evil... and he only PUNISHES, and menaces _those_ that get in his way...
He's like the Joker.... if he had a _REASON_ for his madness... instead,
of *JUST* the _PURE_ fun of it.
Like Jack Nicholson's Joker... only a *MILLION* times scarier, and more charismatic, and *_actually_*
gentlemanly.
😈 🎩 🔥
I just think he's a cool unique character who isn't horny 24/7
i like alastor cuz hes like me
you know he does what he wants and just exist for fun
He’s just so sweet and scary at the same time! Not to mention he’s kinda cute so like..just makes it better, also he’s such a sweetie with girls and I absolutely love that about him!
