This song has been a long time coming... We actually wrote it over a year ago when we (the pilot cast of #HazbinHotel) found out we were being re-cast. However, we didn't release it out of respect for Vivienne and the new A24 crew as they hadn't made their official announcement yet.
Now that the cat's out of the bag, we hope you enjoy our final Hazbin Hotel song! We hope it is received in the spirit with which it was written; as a light-hearted and proverbial passing of the torch from the pilot cast of Hazbin, to the incredible new voice cast that will carry the show into the future! We have nothing but love and respect for the incredible world that is the Hellaverse, and the brilliant people who bring it to life! We are honored to have been a part of it, even for a moment!

HELLO DDR'S (Dedicated Description Readers)!!
I honestly don't know what to say this time... I'm happy, I think. This song is very meaningful to me. It's a bitter-sweet moment. Sweet because I'm reflecting on all the awesome memories and the amazing people I've encountered through being involved with Hazbin Hotel! Bitter because, well... I'm sad that I'm no longer going to be a part of it. I think we all are. I do, however, understand and respect the decision to go in a different direction. That's Hollywood, after all. It's the nature of the beast! Projects come and go, but the experiences and lessons never leave you, and the friendships you make along the way are worth more than any disappointment or sadness that comes with the end of a project!
I guess if I want to say anything, it's this; I'm SO happy for Vivian! I'm happy for the fandom! I'm happy for Indie Animation! This is a win across the board! This show has brought so much joy into the lives of so many, and that is bigger than all of us! I hope my small contribution was a positive one, and I hope the show continues to bring love, joy, and laughter to millions for years to come!

I’ve seen a lot of the same questions repeated in the comments, so I figured I’d answer some of them here:
Q: Why were you all recast?
A: There’s been a lot of speculation; that we couldn’t join the union, we can’t sing, or Amazon/A24 forced the re-hire… The simple answer is that Viv always wanted a Broadway cast and, when the show got picked up, she had the opportunity to get it!
That’s show business, baby. No hard feelings.
Q: Why isn’t Vaggie singing?
A: We originally wrote a verse for her (after Cherri Bomb) that went “And, though it’s hard to say, hasta luego. Audios. Goodbye.” Monica Franco declined our request, but we still wanted to represent her, so we put a Vaggie in the background!
Q: I thought Ed was the voice of Alastor?
A: Ed was the speaking voice of Alastor in the pilot, I was the singing voice. We asked Ed to do the opening monologue, but he felt it might be a conflict of interest as he also voices Striker in Helluva Boss.
Q: Did you go to the premiere?
A: I was not invited to the premiere. I don’t think any of the original cast were. But we were all supporting from a distance!
Q: Is this song official?
A: No, this is a love letter from the OG cast to the fandom and the show! I’m not even sure Viv has heard it yet, but when/if she does, I hope she likes it! :-)
Lastly, I really wanted to thank you all for the incredible outpouring of love and support we’ve received! It’s honestly more than I could’ve ever imagined and it means so much! Thank you… 🥹🖤

The lyrics are so sad, because the message is clearly "we did our best, even if that wasn't perfect, and we're grateful for everything we got to experience", it kinda makes me think the OG VA's feel like they weren't "good enough" to make it to the final version of the series once it got big. But if you're reading this: you're the reason why it blew up in the first place. It couldn't have happened without you. You did well, and we love you. The weird part is this is genuinely in character for alastor, sure he's a casual murderer but he's also a showman. Very impressive considering this is more about the cast saying goodbye than the characters.

"It wasn't perfect but we tried" kills me. It's acknowledging that though the pilot was flawed and was a learning curb, the beautiful attempt was made and absolutely paid off.
But hey even if they are gone. It doesn’t mean they can’t reappear in the next season in another form. Even though it’s been one helluva run for this cast, at least they made a mark and hey like I said, they could appear in the next season as a background character or something. It’s not the end for them yet :)

I think these actors made the characters sound so unique. I had heard that the producers required all the actors to be in SAG due to legal stuff but they did seem to go full broadway with it. They could have at least kept Edward Bosco (Alistor), though… He’s in SAG.

i agree with the OG cast it was unique and homey, while the new cast is more Broadway. I wish they had kept the more OG voice actors to keep the show's unique feel.
It’s because (at least for me) it’s the first time hearing their voices.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all the people in the new cast. But I know that when I watch the new show, I’m not going to hear “Vaggie”, I’m going to hear Stephanie Beatriz. I’m not going to hear “Husker,” I’m going to hear Keith David. I’m going to hear voices that I’ve heard in countless episodes of countless other shows and movies.
And while I’m sure they’ll do an excellent job… it will still take me out of the moment. It will make me that much more aware that this is an actor reading from a script. And no matter how good an actor, or how good a script; that verisimilitude will shatter.

It gets to me how the song in itself sounds cheerful and catchy, but when you consider that it is not just a song for the purpose of the show, but the original voice actors giving their final performance and low-key addressing you, the audience, directly to say their goodbyes, it gets me all emotional.
The original voice actors are the voices that brought about the hype and "cult status" this show has accumulated over the years. They played a large role in bringing the show to where it is today, so they deserve all the love and appreciation. Thank you so much, all of you!

@@aldrinmilespartosa1578 well first the og cast dont harbour any bad feelings for the new ones, and with company switches throughout production swapping cast members were bound to happen, and its pretty common with pilot episodes. Not saying its great but we have hazbin hotel, the cast while sad have other projects they get to work on. And they get to know the series they helped out is now a full fledged show!! Whether or not we hear them they will always be a part of this project, and hold a special place in our hearts, but dont count the new cast out or the show its gone through so much and i actually still like the voices for the new cast. Just give them a chance yk :>

Man, I just want to say that the Pilot cast was so much more than voices for the characters. The promotional work and podcasts they did (you know which podcast I mean, specifically) were such a comfort during 2020/2021, a bit of a reprieve from being on the minimum wage front lines. Everyone here is so amazingly talented, but more than that, so kindhearted and caring (even Bosco), that they can touch people's lives for the better without even knowing them. Absolutely wonderful, and I can't wait to see what they have next for us in their future projects.

The original cast was the reason so many of us stayed with the show and fandom for so long. Hazbin Hotel wouldn't be what it is today without them. Even with them being replaced in the official show, we'll always remember them as our og cast! Thank you original VAs, and goodnight!

Alastor is an enimga; you elevated him to a huge level, giving him an amazing character. You can't help but keep coming back to that charming, cunning smile.
Don't forget Edward Bosco did the speaking role for Alastor as well. They both did great

@@fabriCa20 eso depende de los gustos, pero tambien tenian problemas con algunos de esos, algunos personajes necesitaban 2 actores porque uno no sabia cantar u otro problema (Alastor tenia 3 si bien recuerdo, uno para la voz, otro para la cancion y el tercero para darle el efecto de radio a su voz) y eso es mucho problema cuando puedes simplemente contratar a uno (que lleva en la industria por mucho mas tiempo) y que haga todo a la vez.

i love that hazbin has finally released, but devastated about the recast. the original cast were the ones who brought the amazing life to viv's characters and hearing all the voices in 1 song is amazing.

@@Aidencrawford-zo8xb Husk is probably the only legitimate recast that is a genuine improvement over the pilot cast in my eyes (other than Pentious but that's because Stamper went off the deep end), Keith David is so SO good as Husk and really elevates him (to be fair, that bassy voice is great in any project he's in).

I love the original cast, but the talent A24 was able to leverage was absolutely insane.
