    That's the same state my HQ has been in for 5 years... I'm still waiting to build a new garage at my new place.

    Good ol' debeer! .
    The bodylines and scallop through the tops of he guards are easy to get wrong and can make or break a paint job 👍👍

      I agree 100% . I think a lot of people use stencils , I’ve never really worried about them and just follow the body 👌. Turns out I’ll be bare metalling both the quarters and redoing them which I’ll cover in the next vid . Issue is I can’t really make them sharper than what’s already on the body as it will look different and not flow . Bit of a shame but it is what it is

      @@BogDustForBreakfast yeah I've seen those stencils ... they make the job look harder than it needs to be 😅 .
      That car looks pretty good except for the scallop missing from the back guards 👍 , i had a knack where I'd stand at the axle about half an arms length away (hards to explain , I think facing the back of the car at the rear , it's been a while 😳 ) and sort of sweep the line in with a modified speed file while standing in the same spot 👍👍

    Great information mate, I have learnt a lot from you and have managed to avoid a lot of the issues you mentioned. Thanks for your help.Also can you please touch on solvent pop and filler pin holes and correction methods or how to avoid them to start with? I did just use the dolphin glaze for pin holes, it appears to have worked good. Cheers mate.

    Hi mate, you mentioned at the end of this one to shout out if there was anything we would like you to show. I am at pretty much the same stage with my HJ, and as you know the sedans love to rust out around the rear wheel arches and dog legs. Whats the best way to fill and sand this area as there are lots of curves and bends in both direction so you cant really use a block? Also getting those nice sharp wheel arch edges? Thanks mate I hope that makes sense..

      @BogDustForBreakfast  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I’ll be doing filler repairs on the dog legs in up coming videos so stay tuned! I love to use tubular dura blocks for those tight curved areas works a treat

    Do you put the door, boot rubber seals on before blocking?

    • @BogDustForBreakfast
      @BogDustForBreakfast  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Blocking primer . No . If doing repairs yes . Also if the cars having more money thrown at it then yes I do everything to perfect the shape . This one was meant to be just a sand and paint

    How long does shrink back take to stop to start blocking primer

    • @BogDustForBreakfast
      @BogDustForBreakfast  Před 11 měsíci

      The idea is to prevent shrinkage on a car . Primers will always shrink to some extent during the curing process . What I showed in this video was just plain laziness by the panel beater who repaired it .

    • @BogDustForBreakfast
      @BogDustForBreakfast  Před 11 měsíci

      But to answer your question. The best time to block the primer is after it’s cured .

    • @BogDustForBreakfast
      @BogDustForBreakfast  Před 11 měsíci

      @@chrisoo8998 depends on if it’s baked . What speed of hardeners used etc there’s a few variables which speed up and slow down the curing process . I’ve primed repairs, baked the primer sanded and painted it all in the same day heaps of times and never had an issue .
