  • A quick video showing the differences in the types of machines I sell.
    For a complete list of differences or to purchase rug tufting machines and supplies, please see the comparison chart on the website.
    Please note: We no longer sell the ZQ-II and ZQ-III. The ZQ-II could do both cut and loop but also not a great machine for beginners. We were spending a lot of time teaching customers how to fix their machine and use it properly. It's also twice as heavy as the AK-I and II.
    The AK-III replaced the ZQ-III and is a much easier machine to use.

    Hey! I just got the AKII and love it. I noticed in one of your guide videos there is an alternate needle (6mm) that can be used. I was wondering what the maximum loop pile height is for this needle, and how I could purchase it as it’s not listed on your site! Thanks!

    • @tufttheworld
      @tufttheworld  Před 3 lety +1

      Because the air blows the yarn into the cloth. The low pile machines have a needle that pushes the yarn in the cloth.

    Do you have to cut the loops 😏 most videos does not show you must cut the loops, or is the loops at the back

    • @Vingne
      @Vingne Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, you have to cut the loop every time you want to end your line, unless you want to continue it going down or going up. Unlike to cut, it will automatically cut out every time you stop.. when you use the loop gun you have to have a scissor in hand while doing the turfing.. cos there’s a lot of cutting going on.

    Why you dont recommen the heavier machine for beginners?

    • @tufttheworld
      @tufttheworld  Před 3 lety +2

      Operating the heavier machines puts a lot of pressure on your arm, shoulder and wrist. Even with a counter balance of some kind there's still a lot of control that has to be used. I've been tufting for several years and can only tuft for about an hour with the heavy machines versus many hours with the small machines.

    • @romikotchan

      @@tufttheworld thanks for your quick answer. I am beginning to understand everything related to the tufting world, and still there is not much information, Im kind of struggling with info related to the guns, and I can tell these different guns are generic from China, no big warranty or quality to be considered here. About the heavier one it looks more professional also. I am trying to reach the more reliable one. The light ones maybe are better for start, but to be honest I don’t feel they are super reliabl, I am not sure how many hours that motor can handle work, and also mechanics. But maybe it is true that for a good start it could be the best choice. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

      @@romikotchan We've been working with our manufacturer for over 3 years. They invented the blue ones 20 years ago. We offer a lifetime of support for all our machines. We try to solve any issues remotely but also offer reasonable repair rates if you send it in. We also sell all the replacement parts and have videos on how to change them if you want to do the repair yourself. We've sold we'll over 10k machines and never had a single motor die. They're certainly not perfect but they are reliable and easy to fix if they break.
