How about "edit" covers? I changed the language, the stile, the arrangement, keppt the riffs and melody. Does it goes under COVEr as well?

Question: I wanna do a cover song. I recorded everything pretty much the same way as the original song (all done by me. No sampling or anything), but i changed the lead guitar melody in the beginning of the song because i didnt like the original that much. And changed the vocal melody a bit as well. But every other instrumental is the same as the original.
Do you think that'd be okay to upload to distrokid under a cover song? To spotify? Or should i just keep that on youtube maybe?

I think you could upload it - people upload remixes as covers and they are fine
