@@inumimomccoyayomide1706 What I do is just log into e.g. my spotify and check for my song (as sometimes it is released before Distrokid sends the email to say it's up on that platform). If it's there, I just click on the song and then copy the url for the song and share that.

How long it takes to be available on all music digital platforms since I want to release?
Depending on the platform, it can take anywhere between 1 day and 2 weeks to be released once you upload your song to Distrokid.

I didn't bother with any smaller companies after Taylor Davis's advice saying she'd had issues and lost money with a smaller less well known one.

3 Been told - always release singles, then as album. Above makes this expensive? To survive costs, just do album? Your thoughts / experiences? Ta
So it is $19.99 per year to sign up to release songs. If you are releasing a cover song, you need to pay an additional $12 when you release that song, and then again each year to keep the mechanical licence for that cover song. I hope this helps :)

Question : Do we need import another credit card information for distrokid or it just uses the credit card information we signed up with?
The card you sign up with will be the one that Distrokid used for future payments (i.e. for further purchases such as cover song licences) but you can change this at a later date. You will need to enter bank details or paypal details in order for Distrokid to pay you. Hope this helps.

Hi there if we subscribe to the basic plan $19.99/yr then we have upload a cover song so the $12 amount of cover song is paid separately after the purchase of the basic plan or at the time of purchasing the basic plan? Or Distrokid deduct it from our card?
The $12 is a separate payment which will be deducted from your card when you choose to upload and release a cover song. This is a recurring payment that you have to pay each year for each cover song you release. Hope this helps.

Hi Svetlana, I'm actually working on another tutorial video at the moment on how to do this. What you need to do is first of all check that the song is in the public domain. Folk songs which are really old should be (but always make sure to check). Then you follow the process for uploading a song as if it was an original song. When you get asked for song writer (music/lyrics) name, you just write 'Traditional'. This is what I did when uploading my arrangement of Auld Lang Syne. You then don't need to play for a cover licence and you keep all the royalties. Hopefully this helps, but feel free to watch my new tutorial when it comes out later this month :)

does destrokid take full payment at the time of signing up? or does it take it annually?
because my card is just getting declined.
When you sign up, yes Distrokid will charge you for 1 year's subscription (so $19.99 if you are on the basic plan). Your card will then get charged again 1 year later. If you are having issues with your card being declined, it could be because of your card type. Distrokid only accept Visa, American express cards and Mastercards. If you are using one of these then I would suggest either getting in touch with your bank to see why they are declining your card, or get in touch with Distrokid directly on their help/ contact form. I hope this helps :)

Hello, can you tell me if I need to create "band's spotify profile" or it was created when we got on distrokid and I can access it through my normal profile? Thanks in advance. Helpful video. Keep up.
Hi Rene, when I set up my Distrokid account I did not have a spotify profile. When I uploaded my first song to Distrokid, they created a spotify profile for me. I was then able to claim my spotify profile as I describe towards the end of the video so that I could change my profile picture and bio on spotify. My login to spotify is different from my log in to Distrokid, though I initially set it up on Distrokid. Does this help to answer your question?

Vicky B - Does DistroKidd actually keep tabs/ keeps count of the number of times that your song is played on Radios (so that you are *paid per radio play)?* (4.) If not - what platform will and what is their price? (Thanks in Advance)
I'm not sure about radio plays. I don't think Distrokid keeps track of this. In the UK I believe you need to sign up for PRS or PPL for them to collect royalties like that for you. I'm not sure about other countries. Hope this helps

My producer uploads all my song but im not able to access any of the menu options on my account to check on the splits because i have not picked any package. Should I pick a package evwn if i wont use it?? Is it considered as an account only if i have a package?
Hi Dhaya, I haven't worked with a producer, so I'm not sure what happens when someone else is in charge of your uploads. Perhaps you should try speaking to your producer about this or get in touch with Distrokid directly to ask them questions. They usually reply within a couple of days when I've had a query.

I'm glad this was helpful. If you would like to be able to schedule release dates you will need to be on the musician plus plan. As far as I am aware, your songs will not be made available in stores until the day that you schedule to release it. In terms of your actual distrokid account, that is private to you only, and I don't believe anyone can access your hyperfollow pages unless you share the link to them.

Can you download the mp3 file from the email you were sent onto your computer, and then upload it from there onto Distrokid?
good video, just asking, are you allowed different information from the payment for distrokid compared to the earnings, because im a kid and i want my mom to pay for it because i cant afford it, but can i link my paypal or something to get my earnings through my paypal in the same account?
If you are under 18 you will need to have an adult sign up and create an account on your behalf. As for receiving earnings, Distrokid will send this to you via a paypal account. Paypal also requires you to be 18 or over to have an account, but if your mum has a paypal account then when she receives money into that from Distrokid, she could send it on to you

@@ytnsofala A possible issue could be the type of card you are using. Distrokid. Distrokid currently only accepts payments via Visa, Mastercard or American Express cards. If you are using one of these and your payment isn't going through you may wish to get in touch with your bank to see if they are blocking payments to Distrokid for some reason. I hope this helps

Hi Ronald, thank you. Yes you can give credits to arrangers etc. In the 'more' tab there is a section called 'credits and liner notes'. Here you can add credits to any singles or albums and this information will be sent to streaming services along with your song.

If me and my friend are dropping a song together but we are separate artist and this will be the first time we drop music would we need 2 separate distrokid accounts or just one ? So in the artist name we put each other with the & symbol ??
Hi Saul, I'm not 100% sure about this as this is not something I have had to set up myself. There should be some information in the Distrokid FAQ section however. If you can't find the information you need there, the Distrokid customer service team is really good and they usually respond to emails within 2 or 3 days. I hope this helps :)

So I have tried attaching my Master Card but it keeps repeating that my card has been declined, even though my card is active and I have a balance there. Also, I contacted my bank and they said there's no problem for their side. I have been adding my card for three days but nothing has changed. Any solution? my music might get deleted because of this!

1. Yes you need to pay the subscription every year, however you can upload an unlimited number of songs each year.

Please let's me get it clear, if you want to upload your song on CZcams you need to select no, right? So if you select yes means you can't upload your song into your CZcams channel, right?
If you select google play/youtube as a store when uploading your song to Distrokid, Distrokid will create an audio track on youtube with the album/single artwork as the video. You can still upload your own separate music video onto your own CZcams channel however. This is what I do. Does this help to answer your question?

SignedwithDistrokid 2 years ago. Released 15 of my created Singles through them. Have not received any response in return since. My old Account had an outdated Email, bank, phone number, and address. Have never been able to sign in to that old email since. 2 years now I always wondered what happened to my songs, if I may gotten paid, it was all another scam?
I've never had any issues with them myself. If your card which you used to sign up with them was outdated then I would imagine that your subscription renewal wouldn't have gone through in which case your account would have been cancelled and all songs removed from stores. Have you tried to get in touch with their customer service about it?
i have a question, since distrokid creates you a youtube artist account, can you still make your own youtube account or do they control your artist youtube channel if that makes sense?
I have my own separate youtube account which I upload my videos to so that I can have full control over it.

@@daveskatesallday From what I remember you can link it up with your own channel, but then you lose full control over that, so I chose not to.

As long as you know your email and password you should be able to log onto your account on a different device.

Do you mean for your spotify and apple accounts? Yes, I believe you need to wait until the song has been released, at least, that is how it was for me
I’m using amuse right now and have released music on it . Is their a way to switch to distrokid and still see my music and streams and more from amuse?
Basically how do I switch from amuse to distrokid:)

@@jrod6892 To the best of my knowledge you should still be able to keep your Amuse account if you started using Distrokid. I.e. if you created a Distrokid account today it won't be linked in any way to your Amuse account so should not affect it. You can't transfer songs to Distrokid, you would have to re-release them if you wanted your old songs to now be distributed using Distrokid. But if you only want to release new songs with Distrokid, then the songs you released using Amuse will still remain in online stores and you will still keep the stats from those songs etc. I know of many musicians who release different songs with different Distributors and many experiment with trying out different distributors to see which offers the best service for their needs. @@VickiBalfour thank you so much:) so if I make a distrokid account and put my artist profile in distrokid , it won’t show my releases right? So does that mean I need to make new profiles for Spotify Apple Music etc?
@@jrod6892 I believe you keep the same artist profiles for spotify and apple music, Distrokid will ask you when you first release a song with them if you already have artist profiles or if you would like them to create one for you

Pls after subscribing to distrokid basic plan, an extra $13 dollars was deducted from account, without them approving the audio I uploaded.

Hi Tehila, I'm not sure why this would have been. Were you trying to get a cover song licence? I would recommend getting in touch with Distrokid directly if you think there has been a mistake. Their help service is usually pretty good in my experience.
