Kip: "I wonder what engine it has."
TFE: "It has the stock engine."
Legend has it that the Turtle came in 2nd, after Bigfoot, for Hide & Seek world championship.
He has found the pictures
Excellent
@@KipReacts he has it on his insta stories
Woohoo 🙌🎉
I found them on r/TankPorn too, apparently someone posted it on there right around the time it happened. It's like that tank has a personality that just says "fuck you I weigh 90 tons, just try to get me out that ditch you fools! You shoulda left me in my bush!" like that thing is pissed it never got to slowly advance menacingly through the Siegfried line.
The reason it was incognito was because that's where Waldo was hiding for 27 years before he decided to move on to a different hiding spot.
And so, the Doom Turtle project died. Aaaaannnddd immediately afterwards they made a 770hp V12 engine for all of our prototype heavy tanks after it...
Dear Doom Turtle of the ditch; what is your wisdom?
Rating ad reads is probably my favorite way of handling ads in react content. I respect you so much for taking something people would consider irritating and turning it into a talk point.
Nic actually got a hold of the pics of the Doom Turtle falling off the trailer.
He needs to post them!!
@@CowboyNC supposedly he posted them on his Instagram.
@@Ratkill9000 haha that figures 👍
@@CowboyNCit’s in r/tankporn posted 7 years ago.
@@CowboyNC its been on reddit for years though..
Having the chat on screen is great. Just move it to the bottom left and shorten it so nothing is covered.
To your comment about farmers and tractors back in WW2, envision this jingle...
"We are Farmers, rat, tat, ta, ra, tat, tat!!!"
Definitely turn the chat on because the chat does contain knowledge that the viewer can see even when you ether A are to busy to see it or B the viewer sees who your addressing and can focus on that particular thought you have while being given tips, knowledge and even trivia from vets who do chat
I completely agree with this comment.
The fact that total weight is 95 tons, the main hull is 60 tons, that means each of the outer track assemblies weighs 14 tons, aka 10 Toyota Corollas
Fyi, the chieftain youtube channel have T-shirt design that say like T-28 hide & seek champion lol
There was a meeting about that. Oh sweet summer child, that's not how the military works.
this weight class is actually touched a lot in scifi concepts of tanks in genres like battletech and warhammer 40k. but about five times faster.
I feel like early war inventions were the equivalent of someone saying, “it’s unbeatable, you can’t win!” And the opposite side making something specifically to counter it for the sake of demoralization along with essentially saying “bet.”
The Doom Turtle is like the UNSC Grizzly Tank for lack of better comparison. Super Heavy Tank, insane armament, heavy armor grants it enormous resistance to almost anything, yet moves slow af and is easy to destroy with concentrated firepower.
To be honest, every military base I've been to with large areas of wildland have some process to allow civilians to hunt. In some areas, military bases are the only public land to hunt.
Interesting!
Just so you know an iowa class battle ship's beltline armor is 12.1 inches
I'm not sure if the Doom turtle nickname is a nickname from that period or is it from world of tank (the first digital appearance)
I think I remember seeing them transporting that tank down to Fort Benning years ago. I didn't see it in a ditch, but I remember seeing a military convoy with a heavy haul truck transporting a huge tank. If that was the same tank, then that's pretty cool.
I can not stress enough how helpful the Toyota Corolla comparison is for me when trying to comprehend just how heavy this tank is LMAO
The Doom Turtle was the example of needing a bigger engine. When we designed the M1 Abram’s we wanted it to go fast so they threw what everyone else did out the window. All other main battle tanks run turbo diesel engine. Not the Abram’s. It is powered by a jet turbine, basically the same engine that is inside our Black Hawks.
If they had used the V-10/12 engines that powered the B-17 or P-51 Mustangs, it would have been much faster.
My question. Why is the Doom Turtle at Ft. Moore, home of the INFANTRY instead of Ft. Knox, home of ARMOR? I would even take Ft Bliss, home of 1st AD.
They moved the armor school to fort benning
There is a picture from 7 years ago on reddit of the doom turtle in the ditch
Amazing.
TUTEL!!! *insert meme song*
1. Interesting Fact about the Yom Kippur War of 1973; the Egyptian military was well aware of the IDF having numerous prepared defenses across the Sinai Peninsula that would be functionally immune to any assault into Israel. Unfortunately for the IDF, the Egyptian army had purchased numerous tankers, pumps and water cannons (since they were mostly made of piling up sand) and just washed them away.
2. Be careful of the War Thunder pull. The base game is fun, up until you find vehicles you hate fighting (Tiger 2s, 2S38s etc).
Oh no, they left it behind… A prototype tank… In some field nearby, in a bunch of bushes, where it couldn’t be seen… Then part of it falls off the trailer that was supposed to be taking it to a military museum. How did no one in the immediate vicinity not feel the ground quake from that impact? The only thing funnier than this tanks MIA case is how the American military took a bulldozer and a few tons of dirt to breach an IMPENETRABLE physical barrier instead of the poorly designed tank created to breach the same fortifications…
The Bigfoot in the tanks world 😂😂😂😂😂
think it would be fun to have chat there, also having the 7tv wave emote so chat can wave and say hi in the intro would be fun.
I'm happy people are liking the chat. I'm looking at resizing it a little bit.
Super heavies are always fun, Germany obviously had the most well known with the Maus but even the British and Soviets dabbled they’re hands in super heavies with the Tortoise and (technically) the Object 279 (I know the 279 is made to withstand radiation, but on a technicality it is a super heavy)
a foot of armor is the sort of thing you normally see on Battleships
The armor on the USS Iowa was 12.1 inches.
I love this story because it, along with the recent Marines vs AI Detection tests prove that no amount of R&D will ever compare to the resourceful chaos of a bored grunt.
French duck tank. You mean AMX-40 ? The french tank design that sadly never saw the light of day, because it is so silly I would love to see one roll about.
“I like turtles”
My Favorite Tank (That isn’t The Abrams) is the T/M-26 Pershing
Did TFE cover the Siegfried Line in the earlier Last Warchief video?
The duck is the amx 40
I've played this tank in World of Tanks and it's as slow as he says it matches the TOG II in speed
In the Army, if you don't turn in/lose equipment such as a weapon or NVGs; everyone is looking for it. I have heard it called "hands across America".
My second favorite American tank ever
I still love the T-heavys the most the t29, t30 and t34 are my most favorite American tanks
Can we get a playlist of just all your videos kip so that people could just have you in the background all the time? oh, and by the way, I am am absolutely ready for there to be a tiny kip in the world.
Hi Kip hope you're feeling better today
You know who made documentary on The T.O.G.? Russian Badger. Well it was a WoT video "Abstract carnival of pain" but Badger should definitely make documentaries with memes and mocap suit
Meanwhile the UK with the 40k Baneblade: *Laughs in Tea cup*
I love tortol too
It even looks like a modern average american, so gorgeously fucking PHAT
If you ever get a Frame/Hud for videos, you can have the chat in the lower end.
its jarring, while some people will enjoy it.
Most youtube viewers dont care for what chat has to say.
If they say something of merit or informational, theyd rather hear Kip/Creator take note of it.
Hell, you can have a cut in where the comment is shown(with or without the chatters name) if its that informational during a pause.
I actually have an entire frame. The last Lucy Pyre video I reacted to shows it. People didn't really like it, so I haven't used it. Thanks for the feedback!
I'll tell you one thing, I bet you if that picture has been taken. It's smart top secret
The duck one is AMX 40 or more meme-able tank, Bob semple New zealand Tank
95 tons is actually 190,000 pounds.
The amx 40 is the only French duck tank that I know of but there is only one tank that I consider to be as interesting as the t28/95 is the elc amx
Wait, how many nuclear warheads are we missing?
Someone got him the pics n he posted the turtle in a surch pics on his insta page
Maybe some day red effect or history legends?
I'd love to react to more history.
@@KipReacts Yeah both are very interesting and both will make do double take on things and known for breaking up myths on matters. HL talks about things in a funny way with sus meanings at times and Red is largely deadpan but knows a lot about the history or armor and what they actually are.
Both are very fair and critical but they will give you a interesting point of view on said matter for sure.
Ah the Draciel strategy be so tanky and hard hitting that you just shrug off all damage and smack them once you get tired of them bouncing off you like a fly on a steel wall.
The German Panzer VIII Maus was larger. My money is on the turtle over the mouse.
Tutel
I belive the gaf was 18 L v8 with hemi heads and made 1000 pf of torque it was a monseter on an engine but it was overworked in the doom turtle if it was the ford gac v12 it might have been reliable the history of the ford GA engine line is pretty interesting the varients i know of are the GAA,GAF and the GAC
It should be the Russian death Fridge🤣
Kinda same problem as the germens had whit the mouse then. Shure its heavy and ready for fuckery but to make the bohemut move is a hwolle difrent battle
Found the Pic
I had the most idiotic game I ever played in World of Tanks (which is an idiotic game played by idiots) with this thing.
Only goes about 17 kph/8 mph.
Was immediately outrun by all the other players on my side.
I take the scenic route.
Everyone Fail-Trains the opposite side towards the enemy.
I continue to trundle along at 17 kph towards no one.
Enemy meets my team.
I am alone.
I reach enemy cap and park.
Too fat to get to the fight, so I farm points and wait to die.
Enemy dominates.
All the idiots I'm with die idiotically.
Enemy notices they're being capped to death.
They rush me just in time to lose.
I took no damage.
I dealt no damage.
I scored no Spotting Damage.
I won?
World of Tanks is an idiotic game, and today, I am its King.
Long live the king of WOT
This is peak gameplay
the story of this tank had me laughing the whole damn time XD because of corse the fucking gooberment would loos THE BIGGEST TANK they made in WW2 for 27 fucking years
First
i would NOT recommend you play warthunder on console, i have tried and the controls do NOT translate well to controller.
