Big shout out to Zach on Twitter who pointed out that there was in fact actually 2 NHL players born in South Dakota, Emil and Oscar Hanson. Who both played a small amount of NHL games in the 1930s!
Isn’t pat Shea the CZcams
@ohnyquist yeah look up pat shea CZcams that’s odd there’s no picture unless it’s a different person
@@tjt108198 it’s a different person
Sup dawg
That “Maryland” lol
Huge cringe
I loved it lmao
BTW, Jack Eichel was born in Massachusetts. Now I don’t think he is the best right now but I think he is definitely a honorable mention.
He was actually lived a few streets away from where I do now lol
Kevin Hayes?
@@seano91y pft he is not nearly that good. He is phenomenal on the PK, but he is not that good
You can give a small honorable mention to Hayes and Kreider though
What’s up fellow Bruins fan
Pat Lafontaine would have been the most productive American NHL player if he didn't suffer from serious injuries
When Jack Johnson is the best player from your state
That's rough
That’s hard
Feelsbadman
Sorry to hear that bro :-(
I’m Canadian 😂
You forgot Joe Pavelski for Wisconsin, but overall I loved this video. Thanks for making great videos!
Pronunciations! You're killing me! LOL. Tony Amonte is pronounced Ah-mont-ay. Gary Suter is pronounced Suit-er not Sutter of the Sutter brother fame.
Also, Vanbiesbrouck rhymes with "crook" and Broten rhymes with "rotten". Oh, and "Jere" starts with a Y sound.
still better than Rob Talks Hockey
11:05 That guy in the Background is giving us the stink eye
And the lady ( yes female) is doing her best Alfred Hitchcock.
????
Bill Lindsay was born in Montana. Played 777 games in the NHL with 224 points
Great video! Really enjoyed it. All the hours and hard work paid off.
Congrats on hitting 49K subscribers...closing in on 50k. You obviously had to put a ton of work and research into this. Also including the flags for each state was a nice touch.
I like all your video topics. They're great
The goat with another banger! Very nice video.
As a a big hockey fan, I Just wanted to say that your content is always top notch, I don't miss any of your videos.
I love these man, great work. Just one notable pronunciation point it's definitely Tony AMONTE (Ah-Mon-TAY). I guess you had to be old enough to hear announcers say his name. Great player.
Yes, it's the Italian pronunciation, not the French.
He’s as good as Gomez, but Phoenix Copley was born in Alaska in a town called North Pole, which is basically just a 24/7 Christmas themed town. You guys should look it up it’s pretty cool
Damn Massachusetts is a really stacked state with many talented players
No mention of Joe Pavelski for Wisconsin? What a shame.
Great list, way to give bountiful honorable mentions when needed.
8:49 sick Bending Branches gloves.
Gary Suter is pronounced Suit-er; he’s Ryan Suter’s uncle actually.
Seems like he butchered a few names... Lol
@@bertdozer44 He's too young to know many of them. but sttill, wikipedia has the pronunciation listed for many of them at least
Do a season predictions video I would love to hear your opinion
Video idea: could you do a video about the best line in the NHL either past or present that are all from one nation. One example is this past season the leafs ran a line of kerfoot Tavares and Marner for a while and they are all from Canada so I'm wonder if any other NHL team has had an all Sweden line or all Russia or USA...etc?
Sean Couturier spent most of his minor hockey playing in my hometown in Bathurst, NB. Father is the gm of our QMJHL team, and the road to the arena is called Avenue Sean Couturier
Jesus you pumped this video out quick
Grew up in the same neighborhood as John LeClairs grandma. Was always a huge fan of his and the Flyers because of it.
Solid list!
Love ur vids bro
Thank you!
These videos are awesome
Great video
You could do best players about other countries states too 👍
"Tony Amont"
Yikes dude. You seem like a big hockey fan, so I would encourage you to watch games/highlights from the 90s/early 2000s. You missed out on the greatest hockey and players of all time
Bill Lindsay was from Montana I think but as always great video!
Really? I can’t seem to find anywhere that lists him as being born there.
@@OhNyquist I checked and some sites say he is from Big fork Montana and others say Fernie in B.C.
@@apostasishind87 its fernie
@@nahiyanishtiaque1283 Oh ok that's cool.
The way he said Maryland though 6:15
Or Suter. Or Amonte. He's young...I guess we can forgive him in player names from the 80s and 90s.
lol you pronounced Massachusetts correctly. Love the vid.
Video ideas: ranking each starter from each team, ranking the best #1 d pair from each team
Yessir, it belongs to Matthews! Also congrats on 49K! 1,000 more until 50K!!!

Nice to see so many UP players in Michigan picks
Any chance you could do a video about the Red Wings goaltending prospects and who you think can make it to the nhl and who can't
I watched Scotty Gomez when he played in the ECHL with the now folded Alaska Aces
Yes!!! Awesome!!! You picked Steve Konowalchuk from Utah!!! Great, thank you!!!
You should try something like a series of videos of the best of all time starting lineup from each hockey country (Best LW, C, RW, D and G)
(Bcause i like those videos and i want it to continue, lol!)
I am from Massachusetts and yes you said it right.
Bro nvm Massachusetts, u said 'Tony Amont'??????
You are correct about the best player out of the state of Maine. There was another player from Maine who played in the NHL. It was a brief time, but Danny Bolduc played for the Detroit Red Wings and the Calgary Flames in the NHL, plus the New England Whalers of the old WHA! He played 88 games for the Whalers, and 100 games for the Detroit Red Wings, and 2 games with Calgary. He scored 37 goals and had 69 total points.
Can you make a best goalie from each country video please?
7:00 apparently also played as bronn from game of thrones.
Lived in missouri my whole life never knew pat lofantaine was born here
Me neither and I'm an Isles fan. 😳
‘Tis the season to Flalalalafontaine!!!
Yep Kirkwood.
really sad that despite having the predators for over 20 years, tennessee has never managed to produce any nhl talent.
smithryansmith they made it to the cup finals in 2017. They’re just going back on a slump
@@jackthemoose7007 That has literally nothing to do with tennessee's inability to produce any talent.
Can u do your standings prediction??
Funfact. Pat LaFontaine grew up in the sMe city in michigan as dylan larkin
you should do this from every province/state ("Maakunta") of Finland :)
@I’m dead Matt Martin Yes i know what is the point?
Quick born in Milford CT to be more. Specific also Bonino to he was born in Hartford
I agree Bonino was born in Hartford🐳CT
You should do a "NHL All time All Stars Team" video.
Basically make 4 lines of what you think are the best 4 lines combos of everyone who's ever played. Plus a goalie and backups
The us hockey hall of fame is in eveleth mn
Fun show thank you much
Ayyyy love it
You could also contend that Seth Jones belongs in the Colorado conversation
??? His Wiki says he was born in Texas.
I had a Mark Eaton Flyers jersey just because he was from Delaware.
I would give it to Brooks Orpik he was a dominate defenseman for Pittsburgh and Washington. Not that Matthews will not take the title from him in the future but Orpik was a staple of the Penguins defense for many title years.
Love modano. Hes the pride of the livonia/westland area. I could throw a football right now and hit the mike modano ice arena. Though us wings fans weren't all that happy when mike put a larger- than- the- building- cut out of him wearing stars uniform holding the cup. Im kidding though, I still always looked at it pride for the town, not as a knock on the wings.
Also don't wanna snub Cheli's chili bar that was downtown detroit some years back
Are you still doing Oh Nyquist Gaming?
Blake Geoffrion was originally from Florida but he grew up in Tennessee would’ve loved to see at an honorable mention for that
correct me if im wrong but i was positive jt miller was from Pittsburgh and Gibson was for a fact cause he grew up in my neighborhood and i would give it to john Gibson
Jack Eichel will be the best player from Massachusetts when he retires
Jaccob Slavin went to my High School. Only notable person to ever go here too, crazy!
Quick question:
Where's Alex Tuch and Joel Farabee? They both should've been honorable mentions in the New York section since both are from central New York (Tuch from Baldwinsville and Farabee from Cicero)
Not a leafs fan(at all) but I think Matthews for California was a great pick, because he is over a point per game. Orpik and Zucker are just not on that level.Great Video!
U think?
Fun fact, Pionk and Guentzel played on the same juniors team in the USHL.
I wonder if there is nunavut prospects 🧐 im just wondering
Do the best players from all the NCAA d1 programs
Of course the first picture of Boll is him about to punch out someone's lights lmao
I know it’s not exactly a hockey-heavy area, but Tennessee not having an NHLer despite the Predators being around for a while now is a little surprising.
Great vid as always but Gary Suter is pronounced the same as Ryan Suter cause that’s his dad
Gary suter is actually his uncle, his dad was Bobby suter from the 1980 us team
@@abbybye9335 oh ok thanks I don’t know why but I’ve just always thought Gary was Ryan’s dad
I was hoping you would have put Robbie Ftorek in honorable mention from Born in Massachusetts
Have you done a hall of fame snubs video yet?
I have done the greatest players not in the Hall Of Fame
Weird.. didnt know bishop was born in Colorado. Played against him in High school in St.Louis quite a bit
Do Sweden next!
Rhode Island here :)
Me too
9:40 the way you pronounced “Nevada” here really hurt me as a Nevadan 😂
OhNyquist: Chris Chellios a solid defenseman Me: He was a defenseman?
Before I thought ray bourque was a forward
@@hshockey6869 I know right these defenseman have tons of points and you think they must be a forward
🤧
@@hshockey6869 well him and paul coffey basically were forwards lol.
Welcome to players who played in the 80s, back when goalie pads weighed three times as much as they do now. (Source: Glenn Healy)
Troy terry is also from Denver, Colorado
You should do Russia as well)
I think mack guzda could be the first nhler to represent Tennessee he will have to try as a walk on goalie just playing a hunch
Can we have an updated version?
you said Massachusetts correctly. You did a good job pronouncing US state names.
Btw Oh Nyquist check the description of this video. A little typo.
Okay
Thank you:)
@@OhNyquist Np
Do this for major Canadian cities
I feel like Orpik should have gotten that spot but I understand picking Matthews
2-time Stanley Cup Champion and great shutdown defenseman. ya he's definitely earned the nod over Matthews at this point
@@gchuquichanca I don’t think Matthews has done enough yet for that honor. I would understand a list of best current but not of all time
Joe Pavelski? The Wisconsin player, over 900 games multiple 30+ goal seasons, he was pretty good
Fun fact my dad cut Ryan Malone from a Pittsburgh bantam team
Slavin > Bishop but both are fellow Coloradans
9:00 Jake Sanderson
Once Jake Sanderson makes his debut he will be the best ever from Montana. He was born only 2 hours away from where im from. Also i should add Bill Lindsay is from Montana, he had 224 points in 777 career games so there is in fact a player from Montana
What about Gibson for Pennsylvania
I see OhNyquist, I click.
My boy Oshie 👍
12:21 isn't Trocheck born in Czech Republic???
A lot of these were really good picks. Patrick Kane and Mike Modano for sure, also TJ Oshie, Chris Chelios, Jeremy Roenick, I appreciated the Eddie Olczyk and Joe Mullen honorable mentions as well. I do feel like Brooks Orpik should have taken it for California though. Also, that Johnny G pick was a bad one. Gaudreau is trash.
