- Hello everyone! Here is my 3rd part to my Toyota Tacoma build where I have swapped an OM606 Mercedes diesel in. In this part I will be rebuilding the engine, fixing my broken pre chamber issue. As well as mounting a new turbo, all new interior, track bars, full exhaust, homemade intake manifold, and lots of other details!

I have a Om606 as well. Still in the sedan but is coming out soon and going into a 93 chevy s10 with the same setup as yours. 6spd, 8.8 rear, big turbo lol.

Right on! That's gonna be sweet, yeah they are the best. Can keep up with a quite a few expensive cars and get 30+ mpg!
@@Elisworkshop you still get pretty good milage with the big turbo and big pump?
@@CumminsDsl93 yes! I averaged it, it's around 32mpg driving semi normally. Driving hardcore is around 26ish.

Not hating. I love diesel swaps.
Just make sure you need up the front end suspension of that Tacoma. That heavy add diesel block will wear our your front end if not.
The 606 (stock) is 34 pounds lighter than the original motor that came out of the truck. If it was the 6 banger version.

I’m an old school man I like what you done here. But have you considered running an exhaust stack right behind the cab of your truck like a semi truck ? You might not like it though but I thought it would be cool rolling coal out the exhaust stack.

you need compound turbo, little smaller turbo so it would pull earlier and not smoke that much...
Why would u gap the top ring smaller than the second? Top ring gets hotter expanding more

Hello! the prechamber insert what they do? Amazing work dude! DAMN 12 SECONDS, have you go to the dyno? over 550+ whp for sure! And have you ever consider in methanol or nitro shots?
The insert in the pre chamber is what the injector sprays onto to increase atomisation
what turbo and pump do you have ?
You have a BIG like from me friend, but something that scares me is that you are not going to get many km’s done on those stock head bolts without co2 gases coming into your water system… That is a very very veeeery common problem on these builds, especially when running this much boost. I went through 2 head gaskets on much lower boost on om605. Be careful, please. If that happens, upgrade to m11.

Hay mate I’m looking to put the om605 into my 1987 Xtra cab Hilux because it shorter than the 606 easier fitment, Do you recommend the 5 cylinder?

@@MussaKZN om605 makes less power compared to the om606 but it sounds so good I recommend watching @dieselpumpuk he swaped an om605 into an old land rover it's super sick and it sounds like an audi 5 cylinder petrol

Thanks man!! Oh it's a blast, I love this truck. I'm not exactly sure, I'd say around 500whp. It's at 48ish psi boost, yes it will be on a dyno soon!

I feel like it would benefit from a little higher rear gear to use some of the torque and not be shifting as much.
Needs longer gears for sure.
Im building a ford ranger with an om603 now i wish i had a om606! Lol

What is the exhaust setup any mufflers? And what size
Exhaust is 3" all the way. About midway at the bed of the truck there is a 6" jones turbine resonator that's about 8" long. And then a 4" tip at the end of the bed near the roll pan.

It runs out of gears quickly. Manual bmw transmission replacement would float
Top speed is around 173mph I think is what I figured. I think it does pretty well

Using spring loaded or flex hone still leaves the bore oval!!! The only hand operated hones making a bore back to round shape are Lisle and Sunnen!!!
